Chapter 71 - Outing

CHAPTER 71

Jade and Xander went to the movies as earlier said and Jade went ahead to pick a horror movie.

Xander had thought that she may be scared by the film she chose but surprisingly she was not frightened one bit by what she saw and instead had a smile on her face as she watched some really scary scenes.

He could not help wonder what kind of girl she was and that had only gotten him more interested in her case.

From the theatre, they both went out to the park to enjoy their time and get talking.

"My tigress," Xander called her attention, making Jade turn her head to the side to look at him.

"Yes?"

Rather than responding to her, Xander smiled at her and Jade creased her brows in turn. She did not understand this smile he was giving her and began to wonder if he called her name just to smile at her.

"Why are you smiling?" She was forced to ask him after some time,

"Because of you." He did not lie neither did he bother to sweet tongue her, all he did was to state the truth as it was without micing words.

"Seriously?"

"Yeah, seriously."

She creased her brows further at him. His reply sure had a nice way of leaving her speechless. "What's there to smile about?"

"I called you my tigress and you answered. This means there is hope. You are beginning to accept me."

Jade felt like a small goldfish caught on a fisherman's hook. She could not believe he took note of all the little things and the only response she gave was a smile of her own.

When he had called her that, her mind never went to the nickname and she just answered him subconsciously but it turned out that her heart was already warming up to him and accepting him as she said.

"Don't feel fly, Xander. Things could change at any time."

Immediately the words fell out of her mouth, Xander stopped and so did AJade but before she could ask him what was wrong, he held her shoulders and pushed her gently against the railings at their side, protecting a certain game area.

His actions had stunned her and left her speechless as he looked down at her, staring deep into her eyes. "Quinn Wales."

"Xander." She managed to call out his name but did not say anything more.

"Nothing is going to change, Quinn. The only change that would occur would be you accepting me and loving me back just the way I love you."

He was forceful, yet tender and soft about it at the same time. His words commanded what he wanted but the feeling behind them said a different thing.

And for someone of his person, she knew that he was doing such a good job being patient with her and she appreciated it.

Nevertheless, this was a matter of the heart and not one she would like to joke with. It was going to be her first real love experience and she wanted to be really sure before she committed her heart, body and soul to anyone.

But she still could not deny the fact that he made her feel things she had never felt before. When he called out her name, though fake, it carried a feeling of love with it and went he whispers his words of love in her ears, she felt like flying.

And when he kissed her… oh how she felt like a million butterflies swarmed in her body, making her feel fluffy and good all the same.

She just could not describe it and if this was love, she was willing to give it a go-ahead when the time was right.

"Xander."

"Please do not say anything," Xander cut in, his eyes still beholding hers. He just could not explain it even if he tried. With her, all he could think about was how to win her love and make her happy.

He knew he was becoming cheesy but he did not care. All he wanted was her and when she wasn't near or close by, his whole body felt restless and it became hard to work, that was why he was always calling her or wanted to see her.

Most times he had to try hard and tame the raging beast within just so he could focus on work and not still look like a stalking pervert in front of her.

He wanted her and his body, soul and spirit knew it. She was tough, just like him, mysterious, just like he was, daring like him and an inborn businesswoman and leader, just like him.

If Sky was seeing Macy as a friend with similar likeness then Jade was his soulmate.

Neither of them spoke or said anything to each other, they just stood there, staring into each other's eyes.

Apparently, each look brought forth a strong yearning and a certain pull against the other. Slowly, an inch at a time Xander inched his face closer to hers while waiting for her to stop him but she did not.

It was obvious that he was already getting her and he needed a little more and she would be his just the way a little bit closer and her lips would be hers for the taking.

Together both of them closed their eyes and Jade allowed her hand to move up his chest in small caresses as her lips awaited the union it craved for.

Just when they could feel their breaths on each other's face and their faces and lips were but two inches away, Jade heard something drop and her eyes flew back open.

She looked past Xander and saw a little girl not up to 6 years of age staring at them with her ice-cream and biscuit on the ground close to her feet.

Xander who had been expecting the joining but nothing happened swallowed hard before prying his eyes open to see what was wrong.

"Xander," Jade called out to him in a whisper, her eyes still fixed on the stunned little girl.

"Yes?" He replied to her in a whisper.

"We've got a little company," Jade informed him before peeling her eyes off the girl and letting them wander to his and directing them back at her.

Following the line of her sight, Xander turned his head to the side and saw the little company Jade spoke about then smiled before pulling back.

"Hey, little kitten."

Jade rolled her eyes at him from behind. Didn't he just have a knack for calling people names? 'Tsk…'

The little girl trembled at the base that greeted her ears. "Yes, it is good to fear when you have done wrong. You do not eavesdrop in on adults when they do adult stuff.

The young girl's face dropped when she heard him scold her and her brows kneaded as though she would soon burst into tears at any minute.

Jade noticed it and quickly hit Xander on the arm. "Ouch, what was that for?"

"Do not pretend to be hurt. You want to make her cry."

"I was only saying the truth."

"You do not talk to them that way. People would think we bullied her. Sigh, use your head, Xander."

"Hey."

"Fix your mess," Jade said pointing to the little girl.

"Fine." He mumbled some words before walking towards the little girl and squatted in front of her.

As soon as he did that, he noticed she had accidentally spilt her ice cream on the floor and her biscuits.

He could not blame her, her curiosity got the better of her and she lost her goodies because of the two of them.

A part of him felt responsible for her mishap, besides, if he wasn't trying to kiss Jade in a park, then the naughty little girl wouldn't have been watching them.

"You spilled your ice-cream, huh?"

She nodded her reply to him. Her face still marred with a crying frown as the tears began to well up in her eyes.

"Okay, no need to cry okay. Uncle would get you another one." The little girl still did not change her facial expression. "Okay, a bigger one. Bigger than this one with big cookies as well."

Part of him hoped that his bribe would help and make her stop what she was about to do but her expression barely relaxed and he sighed inwardly.

He turned over to look at Jade, expecting help or a suggestion but Jade simply stared at him with crossed arms.

It was obvious she was enjoying his predicament and waiting to see how well he would handle the situation.

"Okay, how about this? Uncle is sorry for scolding you and uncle was wrong for playing with aunty like that outside." If Jade had her way, she would have cracked up by now, she just decided to keep mute so as not to ruin his plans and effort with the little girl.

"Forgive uncle and let me make it up to you, okay?"
