CHAPTER 61

"Well, I have been petting her since she came to my doorstep."

"Well, that was a good thing. She is lucky to have you."

"Thanks, Xander." It may be true but to Jade, she felt it was the other way. She was the one who should feel lucky for having a friend like Macy.

"Oh, by the way, she should not feel too bad about Sky. He got himself into this mess in the first place and he should fix it himself."

"I know but aren't you being a little bit too harsh on him? He wasn't the one who kissed her."

"Not at all. He led her on. He should man up better and learn to take responsibilities for his actions. Anyways, I would have loved to talk more but I know you must be tired already."

"Hell yeah. You bet I am tired. Apparently, taking Macy to sleep and ensuring she stayed asleep as well was definitely not a one-man job."

Xander let out a peal of laughter at her words. "I know. Okay, you get to bed. I would check up on you two later."

Xander bade Jade goodnight and hung up. She needed to sleep now as when Macy stated her problems, all she could be was to give her best answer to her.

She moved back to the room and climbed on the bed.

Jade dropped her phone on the bed, close to where Macy was sprawled out on then leaned in close to her friend and giving her a chaste kiss on her forehead.

"Sleep well and forget all your sorrows, Macy."

–––––––

All through the day, Sky was left brooding to himself at home. He had spent the previous day begging Jenny in her house but she locked him out and he remained to kneel outside her house.

The very next morning, Jenny had ignored him and walked out of the house, leaving Sky behind to his kneeling spree and drove out.

She was too hurt to want to answer him or have anything to do with him at that moment. She just did not know if he had been sleeping around with other women or if not many at least with Macy.

And if he had, then there was definitely no hope any longer for their relationship.

He had never hurt her but now that he did, he hurt her deeply and she could not forgive him for that.

Xander and Jay walked into the big living room of Sky's mansion and found their friend brooding over his hurt there.

None of them spoke to each other, neither did Sky bother to entertain or greet them.

He just wanted to be left alone and not hear anything from either of them. Unfortunately, Xander would not allow that.

"Sky," Xander started but was cut off by Sky's hearty laughter which only lasted for a few seconds and he became dead serious again.

Xander arched a brow at him questioningly before opening his mouth to speak when he saw that the latter had calmed down.

"Sky. Get up."

"I do not want to hear it, Xander. Go away."

"You would have to hear it from me even if you do not want to."

"I can tune you out easily." Sky shot back lazily. His eyes trailing past them looking into the nothingness of what lay ahead.

"You can choose to tune me out but can you tune him?" As Xander spoke, Sky's eyes widened as he felt a certain vibration like a loud humming in his head.

Xander's eyes darkened and his pupils changed and dilated. No longer was the charming blue eyes there. Rather they were replaced with feral looking ones, a darker shade of their usual colours.

Sky's hands instinctively shot up towards his head and he held it firmly, praying and hoping it would stop.

"Stop!" He yelled after a minute of bearing with the pain. "Just stop, please."

Xander blinked and within the twinkle of an eye, his eyes reverted back to their ice-cold ones that had the powerful aura of a freezing machine that felt like they would freeze its onlookers if they stared in too deep.

And Sky's already contorted face, relaxed, bringing back their usual calm and charm.

"You did wrong."

"I know. I know okay and I am very sorry about that. I would do anything to make it right to Jenny. I just wish she would let me talk to her."

"She is too hurt and so is he." Xander averted his gaze from Sky to Jay who had remained silent all this time.

He never wanted to come but after Xander did to him what he did to Sky, he had no choice but to obey and follow him.

He was still sad because he knew Sky was aware of his feelings for Macy but still kissed her.

Although he had never made any move, he still expected that his friend should call it off. Besides, he had a girlfriend and he only just led Macy on.

For that reason alone, Jay was mad at Sky. She deserved better and he wished he had let her known rather than lead her feelings on.

Sky finally peeled his gaze from whatever he was looking at and faced Jay. The latter just looked elsewhere, too angry to look at his friend in the face.

"He liked Macy and you knew it. I am angry at you because you should have better cautioned yourself. You just did not hurt one person but three, Sky. You are better than this."

"But I didn't do anything," Sky defended.

"Exactly my point. That alone is what caused all these problems. You knew she was attracted to you, yet you did not put a boundary up. You knew you were reciprocating these feelings subconsciously, yet you did not caution yourself and let things go on."

"I know I am wrong but she and I, we shared so much in common, she was a nice friend."

"Of course I am happy you found a friend like her, but that is what it should be, friends and nothing more. She kissed you and look at what happened, everyone got hurt."

"I am really sorry."

"I am not the one you should be apologising to. They are. Jay, Jenny and Macy. they deserve it and more. I just hope you know someone like Jenny is hard and rare to find?"

"I know. I just do not know what came over me."

"She is lovely, nice, cute, scary, intelligent, easy to roll with and easy to piss off. She is a gem, and when she smiles, it put even the best models to shame. I could go on and on about her but she is that and many more."

Both guys turned their head to Jay who just spoke for the first time since he got there. "I do not blame you for liking her Sky and if you were not in a relationship, I know I would have lost her to you already. And that is the problem. You are in a relationship, Sky and you hurt her, both of them."

Hearing Jay speak so maturely was indeed wonderful to Xander. For once his friend was manning up to things and speaking his mind, saying things that mattered.

"I lost Jenny, well fate deemed her not mine and I haven't felt anything for a girl anymore till I met Macy. I could leave her for you if Jenny wasn't there, because only her happiness matter to me but no. You are taken, I won't leave her alone. I would go for her."

Seeing him be so serious about something, Sky stood up from the cushion and walked up to his friends.

"I am genuinely sorry, Jay. I am at fault and I know that. I would back off and stay away from her."

"Do not end your friendship because of me. I know she is a wonderful friend but don't take her away. I won't let you," Jay told him sternly.

"Relax. It won't happen again. You have my word, bro."

Sky stretched his hand for a shake from his friend while managing to put on a genuine smile.

Rather than shake him, Jay pulled him in for a hug, earning a charming smile from Xander as both had made up.

Jay pulled back and smiled at Sky but she the alter was to return his, Jay landed a punch to his gut.

Xander's eyes widened but when he saw Sky chuckle, his eyes relaxed and he smiled again.

"That's for tasting her lips before me, naughty boy." His smile changed into a frown and then to a smile again before laughing heartedly.

"I deserved that and more. My apologies."

"Okay if you say so, I would just punch you more for each second your lips touched."

"Jay." There was a warning tune in the way Xander called his name and Jay raised both hands in surrender. The last thing he wanted was a punishment. He had almost forgotten Xander was there.

"Oh and I know where Jenny is."

"You do?"
