CHAPTER 191

"It would be fine. Let us hope that their love would be able to overcome this," Sky muttered.

He knew Jay could hear him but the others, probably but even saying this, he himself wasn't so sure of the outcome. What if she couldn't forgive him, what if nothing changed? What if he couldn't get through to her and heal the pain in her heart?

No one knew what to think at this point in time. All anyone could do was to hope.

They all wanted Jade to heal but that would take time seeing as her parents death still haunted her till this day.

"Sigh! I hope so as well," Jay confessed. 'I would be back, let me send someone to go get Macy, perhaps she would be able to help her friend now."

"Good idea. I would be here just in case." Both of them nodded in confirmation and Jay left.

~Inside Xander's Room~

Jade still wasn't happy or okay with anything. She was so angry at Xander right now.

She looked at her soon to be fiancé and the tears she did not know when it had built up, suddenly spilled free from their sockets and rolled down her cheeks.

"Please love, I am so sorry," Xander pleaded for the umpteenth time since he saw her.

"Sorry? Sorry you say, what good is sorry? What can sorry do? Is it going to bring back my dead family, huh Xander? Is it?"

"No. I know it would not but please I need you to forgive me and please forgive yourself."

"I can't. Can't you see?" There is nothing that can be done. They are gone. Gone for good and it hurts." She closed her eyes tightly and shook her head.

She could still hear it, feel it, feel the ache in her ears, hearing it sound so loud and clear.

BANG!

Her heart felt like it would cut anytime soon. Quickly Jade raised her hands to her ears and closed it. "No, no, please stop." Her tears flowed out still as she shook her head. "No, please."

It was already hard for her to start with. She did not know why it was now, after so many months had gone by that her mind decided to replay it all for her.

Each time she heard the sound of the bullet, she knew it was one of her family members that had died. Her brain felt like exploding.

Quickly, she pulled the covers off her body and rushed from the bed.

Xander did not know what was going on and his own fear skyrocketed seeing her like that.

"Jade, please wait. What is going on? Tell me what is wrong," Xander asked as he got up from his kneeling position and ran to her.

"Don't touch me." She stepped away from him and finally fell on her knees when she heard the bang again. He knelt down with her.

"Stop, please." It was like she was envisioning everything in her mind and she could see all the faces of her dead family members. "Please." Her tears continued to run down her face, leaving her pretty self to be soiled in her sweat and tears. "Father, mother, do not go, don't leave me."

It did not take time for her forehead and next to be sweating. Xander closed his eyes and held her arms. Due to his strength, Jade could not break away from his grasp and was forced to remain there with her eyes closed as she kept saying no, no, no.

"Jade please, nothing is happening. It is all in your head. Calm down love. It isn't happening again. Your mind is playing tricks on you."

He tried to concentrate and peered deep through the bond. Once more, he saw the rope and held on to it with his consciousness. The next thing, he saw into her thoughts, he could see that she was lonely in the dark and scared of the known and unknown while crouched on the ground and folded up, holding her heads and repeatedly screaming, stop, please, no.

Quickly he rushed up to her and held her strong in their consciousness, protectively. "Nothing would hurt you. I am here, stop crying. Listen to me, Jade it won't happen again. They are already dead, no one is killing them again. It isn't real."

Xander had to pep talk her for some minutes while in reality he pulled her into his embrace and hugged her tightly as he hoped that she would calm down and the trauma would go.

After about fifteen minutes, Jade had begun to calm down and her breathing began to slow down as well.

When she felt okay and was no longer hearing any noise or gunshots, Jade opened her eyes and pulled away from his arms, then stood up, stepping back away from him.

"I told you not to touch me." Her anger rose again. Xander was at a loss of what to do.

"Please." He remained kneeling with his hands falling freely to his side. "Do not do this Jade. Please do not hate me."

"Hate you? Give me one good reason why I shouldn't hate you after what you did to me? You took my whole life away from me, Xander. Did it never occur to you that he had a child, he had a family? What did my father ever do to you huh?"

"I am sorry. It is complicated, trust me."

"Never again. I can never trust you again." She paused her lips, her eyes closing a fraction as more tears flowed out. She wanted to speak but all that came out after opening her mouth was nothing.

"What did he ever do to you that you ended my family in such a cruel way? Did we do anything wrong? Father had always been fair in his dealings with people. He never tried to double cross anyone. He always played fair like his father before him and his father before his father. It was why our family remained the ruling mafia family in Moon Crest City. I was a fool not have known."

"Jade, it wasn't like that."

"It was how? I do not even know why I am still here listening to you."

"Jade, please do not go. My love please, try to understand."

"Understand nothing, Xander. Do you think I am a fool or I am obsessed with you that I would be with you after what you have done?"

"In my defense, I never knew you were his daughter. I regret my decision. I made that decision yes, but please."

"It is not just because I was the one. It was one thing father never did. Even cruel betrayers, he never annihilated the family, only punished the offenders. They also have families but you never thought of that, did you? You were more into taking over our city for yourself right?"

"No, never. That was never the goal. Please, Jade. If there was anything, my people stood the risk of extinction. I could not compromise that as families would have been lost and gone for good. I had the fate of my race in my hands. I had to make a difficult decision."

"Oh, so killing us was the difficult decision. Great, I respect that decision and as such I give my verdict. Since your decision was to kill us, assume that I am dead. So this girl you are seeing, does not exist and the love you are having, is no more. There is no Quinn, she is and was a fragment of your imagination."

"Jade, no. Please. I love you, please I am sorry."

"If sorry can fix all of the problems in this world, then when do we have judges, laws, courts, police, the army? It fixes nothing. It changes nothing. It is gone. You cannot bring back the dead and you cannot take the pain away. They are gone."

Her tears started again and her eyes became red.

"I lost. I lost everything and the one I loved took it away from me. I cannot forgive that. I just can't and I promised full time revenge. Beware Xander, from this day, I swear before my dead father, I would kill all those responsible for his death."

"JADE!"

Xander could not believe his ears right now.

"Be it you or whomever, I would exact my vengeance. An eye for an eye. I would take back what was stolen from me."

As she gave her decree, her tears never stopped flowing and she raised her head like the heiress she was. Full of power, grace, splendor and rage.

"All… You and Zale beware. You gave the other, I would nit visit it upon your race but as for Zale who had carried it out with his goons, I promise to take them all down."

"Jade, please love, I love you."

"I no longer have the luxury to love. This heart of mine is dead and the name Xander is dead to me."
