464 Count Constantine!

“Your day of judgment has arrived,” Augustus said.

“You can’t. If you kill me, you will not remain safe!” Seranna said.

“I don’t fear anyone!” Augustus sneered, tightening his grip on Sarenna’s life force. “You should have done your homework before stepping into our territory. Now, you’ll pay the price for your ignorance and insolence. You’ll be buried right here, right now.”

Sarenna pleaded pitifully, “No, please don’t do it.” She secretly charged up her dark powers, hoping to strike Augustus dead.

But what Sarenna failed to consider was that Augustus didn’t care about treating women with gentleness. Not to mention, he considered her a monster that didn’t deserve to continue living despite the fact that she was as beautiful as a goddess. He ignored her pleas and pressed the life core of the crimson mage between his fingers until it was no more than dust.

In an instant, Sarenna lost her powers, and her body began to wither away.

“You won’t get away with this, Augustus,” she spat, her voice trembling with anger. “Marty will come for you, and you’ll pay for your crimes.”

A crimson mage as powerful as a grandmaster had fallen!

If anyone heard that Augustus, the infamous manwhore, had killed someone so strong, they would simply refuse to believe it.

After all, he was known for his reckless behavior – drinking wine, eating meat, and sleeping around all day long. He was renowned for being the most useless of the three sons of Count Constantine.

Or was he? He wasn’t!

Augustus had long since learned that hiding his true power was the key to survival. Damien’s fate had been a harsh reminder of what happened to those who drew too much attention to themselves. So he played the part of the fool, letting his reputation as a wastrel protect him from prying eyes.

But beneath the surface, Augustus was a force to be reckoned with. He had cultivated his skills in secret, honing his powers to a level few could match so that he would realize his potential before the threats lurking in the shadow found out about him.

And when the time came, he struck with deadly precision, taking down his opponent as fast as he could.

Appearances could be deceiving. He was the most useless-seeming awakened in Constantine County, but he was actually the one that possessed a power beyond one’s imagination!

“Marty? So she was his woman. Word on the street is that he’s the new undead king, and he even took over the criminal capital of the world and renamed it. Talk about a troublesome opponent.” He revealed a sly grin. “But who would tell him that I killed his lover?”

As he gazed towards the north, Augustus’s thoughts shifted, and he pondered, “I wonder how my elder brother and his crew are doing. Should I lend a hand? It’s a tricky situation though. Lucas is a paranoid man, and if he finds out I’m more skilled and talented than him, he might get all insecure and question my motives. I can’t risk our enemies exploiting that and causing a rift between us brothers. But at the same time, I can’t just let him die when I have the strength and time to save him.”

At first, Augustus considered donning a mask to conceal his identity and help Lucas on the down low, but he quickly dismissed the idea when he remembered his brother’s sensitivity to other people’s life force. “Scratch that. I’ll check out the situation first. If it looks like he’s about to bite the dust, I’ll swoop in and save his sorry butt.”

His power was still fully unleashed.

Augustus chanted the incantation for his spell. “Shift!”

From the void, a mouth appeared and swallowed him whole, teleporting him to the dark, musty swamps in the far-off distance.

His ability might seem broken, but it wasn’t too overpowered. His special-type force abilities were no joke and required a hefty amount of aura and life energy to utilize. Extended use could cause him to become fatigued or even lose consciousness, and abusing it would result in certain death.

Meanwhile, Count Constantine, who was besieged by Death Knights, beheld the figure that brought the humanoid rats to their knees, and his eyes bulged wide.

He was shocked.

After all, he hadn’t expected to come face-to-face with this individual again after so many long years, and that too in such a situation.

“Fifteen years have passed, and at last, we meet again. Fate has a wicked sense of humor, for I did not expect our reunion to occur in such dire circumstances. It brings to mind our first encounter when you saved me from becoming dog food with one strike of your fist.”

The count bellowed with laughter as he fended off the Death Knights’ slashes with his staff before retaliating, bashing them with his staff and propelling them into a nearby wall. They proved no match for him, falling like wheat before a scythe. Worse yet, he dispatched them with ease while staring straight at Arlo, his old friend.

The Death Knights felt as if salt had been rubbed into their wounds. After all, they were manhandled in the worst way possible!

“Gah! This old man is really starting to grind my gears,” grumbled the death knight as they burst out from the rubble and charged towards Count Constantine.

Count Constantine turned his gaze towards the masked villains donning black robes, who were hindering his efforts to rescue his people. He gave them a chilling stare, his eyes blazing with a fierce determination.

“Now that someone like Arnard is here, I don’t need to fret about the safety of my people. He’ll take care of those pesky humanoid rats on his own. Do you know what that means?” Count Constantine grinned maniacally at his approaching foes. “It means I have nothing to hold me back. You lot are in for a rough ride.”
