Into the Zombie World

Chapter 152 - Messenger Pigeons

Five pigeons squeezed themselves inside a small square birdcage. The pigeons have shiny feathers and some of their feathers even have the look of a metal. The pigeon's sizes are around two adult fists combined. They were Adam's mutated pigeons, and he personally liked calling them, the messengers.

Tap!

Using the walking stick on his hand, Adam suddenly taps the upper lid of the cage. A magical thing happened and the birdcage opened like a blooming flower, as the dwellers from within flapped their wings as if to break free from their binding.

Flap! Flap! Flap!...

Multiple flapping sounds reverberated on the surroundings as the five pigeons circled around Adam before landing on his shoulder after three revolutions. Two pigeons rested themselves in both of his shoulders and the bigger one sat atop his head.

Adam made a cursory bow before saying, "These are my messenger pigeons, bossman. I have already trained them, so we can rely on them to deliver the messages. My only request is to feed them some fruits from time to time."

The leader made a clap before saying, "Alright, no problem."

The rest clapped lightly as well after seeing Adam's performance.

"Uncle Adam, I want the cute one." Said the young girl while pointing towards the pigeon on Adam's shoulder.

"Sure!" Adam said as he dragged the chair and took a seat on it.

"I will distribute them to everyone tomorrow." Adam continued as he lightly flicked the beak of one of the pigeons.

"Now that we have our own way of communication, let's pair ourselves into two then," Dotina stated.

"Uhmm excuse me…" The man who arrived last raised his right hand in the air like a student.

"Yes? Stand u-... I mean, what's your concern, Emon?" Asked Dotina.

"Uhmm, I was wondering if… Uhmm I could go solo?" Emon said.

"Huh? Why?" Dotina said while she knitted her brows in confusion.

The others, including the leader, also knitted their brows together in confusion.

Isn't it best to team up with each other? They are dealing with the unknown beheader here, it's best to team up so that they could watch each other's back.

"Uhmm, you know, because of my… Uhmm appearance I'm afraid, Uhmm… no one would be willing to team up with me." Emon said as he lowered his head in shame.

The others relaxed their brows after hearing him say that, apart from two people.

"Hmm? If that's your only concern then I'll team up with you. I don't mind your appearance as long as you don't become a burden." Said the man with spiky hair and a gangster-like appearance.

"But-"

"Say no more… that's my decision." Said the gangster man, while he pointed arrogantly at himself.

"I approve of it." Said the leader.

"Me, me… I want to team up with uncle Adam." Said the carefree young girl.

The leader made a nod before looking towards Dotina.

Dotina knew of the leader's thought so she said, "You two formed a pair right?"

The two silent members nodded their heads in unison. It was predetermined as the both of them never separated ever since the apocalypse started.

"Then that leaves me and Bart to form a pair then." Said Dotina calmly.

"You don't have a problem with that, right Bart?" Dotina continued.

"Y...yes!" Bart answered as he gulped a mouthful of saliva in both nervousness and joy.

"That settles it then, me and Bart, Emon and Dexter, Adam and this girl, and you two," Dotina said, listing the pairs on a piece of paper one by one.

"Uhmm, what about the leader?" Said Emon.

"I will solo. I can defend on my own." The leader said.

Emon nodded his head and didn't ask anything further.

"Where do we start searching?" Adam queried as he let one of the pigeons land on his finger.

Dotina glanced at the leader and after getting the permission she wanted she said, "Let's occupy the four directions of the town. You can search anywhere you want as long as you don't reach the town hall."

"Huh! What if the Beheader really is in the town hall?" Dexter said.

"Then all the more you need to avoid going there. That place was already dangerous before the Beheader appeared, how much more if the Beheader was really there." Answered Dotina.

The town hall is a forbidden area. Everyone, including the Pink Surge Faction, knew of this fact.

"True!" Dexter finally relented. No matter how confident he is, if the town hall is mentioned, his balls would immediately constrict in fear. That's how horrifying the town hall is.

Dotina then proceeded to brief the others on what they should and shouldn't do if they meet the Beheader, or suspected anyone to be the Beheader. She also warned the others to be careful as while searching for the Beheader, they might encounter a Level Two° zombie instead.

According to the reports, Level Two° zombies had gone out of their holes already and are now roaming the streets.

"Listen, finding the Beheader is very important for us. If it's a zombie, we could guard against it, if it's a human, we could try to befriend and poach the Beheader to our side. Between the two factions, whoever obtains the firsthand information about the Beheader, wins." Dotina said seriously.

The rest nodded their heads in unison, agreeing to the fact Dotina had just spoken.

"That's all for today, you're all dismissed." The leader said.

One by one they got up from their seats and proceeded towards the shipping containers door.

Dotina and the leader were now the only two persons left inside.

"Are you sure about going solo?" Dotina asked.

"Yeah, don't worry. I've fully absorbed the Apocalypse Virus I got the other day." The leader said.

"Absorbing and digesting are two different things. But well, it's better than nothing. Always be careful, alright?" Dotina said with a concerned voice as she hugged the Blue Wave Faction's leader.

The leader hugged back and said, "Yeah!"
