I Raised A Black Dragon

Chapter 142

Boom. When Noah violently opened the door of the Magic Minister’s office, Adrian was sitting by the window, enjoying the sun while skimming over some documents.

He looked up and smiled affectionately at Muell. “Are you coming now?”

“…Sorry, I’m a little late.” Noah muttered, placing the child on the table, and approached the window.

Adrian stared at the young dragon with a curious gaze, failing to avoid Noah’s hand, which raised his chin. She glanced down at his face. His eyes with the greenness of a meadow in a spring day bent into the shape of a crescent moon

“That’s unusual? You’re this close to me?”

“I thought you’d like it.”

“Of course not.” Adrian lowered his eyes as if he could feel her hand climbing up his cheek.

What’s hiding behind this pretty face? Noah thought. Now that Kyle had failed to discover clues in Noviscosha, there was one thing she ought to accomplish.

Let’s start with this guy, who is like the eye of the storm in every case. Just before Adrian could wrap her hand with his, Noah raised her hand from his cheek. Then, he took a step back.

“Let’s have a class,” Noah spurted out.

“Didn’t you run away because you didn’t want to?”

“I’ve changed my mind. There’s so much I want to learn from you.”

“You must have finally recognized my value.”

“Because to some extent, you’re right. I can’t wait to control the dragon’s mana.”

Adrian, who was staring at her, smiled. “If there’s something coming, shouldn’t there be something going?”

“The opportunity to observe Mu. That’s what you want, right?”

The air in the room rippled and created an artificial wind. Muell, who had just stood on the table in the corner, emerged on Adrian’s desk in the blink of an eye.

Adrian’s eyes swept over Noah and carefully touched the young dragon. She could see it clearly in his green eyes — his eyes showed a desire completely different from when he looked at Noah.

What Adrian hoped for was Muell. If Noah was oblivious to such an obvious fact, she would be a fool.

Noah brushed her fingers through the child’s curly black hair and a smooth lie fell from her lips. “Yes. The deal we made in Battuanu, let’s make it happen between us.”

“…I feel uneasy for some reason.”

“What? What do you mean, Captain?” Paul looked back strangely at his captain. Upon seeing the sharp look on his superior’s face, he began to offer words of comfort.

“Eh, you don’t have to worry so much, Captain. Isn’t Penelope in the headquarters? This time, of course, Penelope made a mistake, but basically, she’s a reliable-“

“I’m not talking about Penelope,” Kyle interrupted.

“Oh, because of your demotion? Speaking of which, Captain. The captain needs to take a break. Collecting the vacation paychecks that have been accumulated for nearly five years will fill up to a full three months. Don’t think of it as demotion, think of it as a reward vacation for all your hard work-”

“Please shut up, Paul.” Kyle put an end to the rambling of a nervous subordinate.

His head had ached because of cases that were forced to stop, but Paul’s nonsensical chatter about vacation made his head hurt even more.

The train leaving Tezeba was running towards Central Edman. Tezeba’s last stop was just around the corner.

Kyle flicked at Paul, who glanced at him. “Give it to me, what I asked you to bring.”

“Um, Captain. The minister told me not to hand over any confidential data to the captain for the time being-”

“Paul Elzario. Do you want to take away all the rest of the holiday world that you love so much?”

Dictator! Paul was so full of tears that he finally took out the file. The document, which arranged the official schedule of the Minister of Magic this month, was a copy that Paul secretly asked his lover to steal.

“If I knew she had stolen the Minister’s timetable, I’d know that my darling would all be cut off, you know?”

Kyle ignored Paul’s pleas as he examined the papers. Adrian Rossinel’s schedule was torture, perhaps because of the aftermath of last month’s Laurent train paralysis, right after his long vacation.

If the official schedule was extremely tight, he wouldn’t have adequate time to remain in the lab for the time being. If so, it was fortunate that Kyle could secure time to investigate from his side.

Then, a two or three-hour schedule caught Kyle’s eye.

Eleonora Asil interview.

I’m nervous, too. He had been thinking like a porridge since he left Tezeba. Adrian Rossinell, what are you thinking? What are you planning to do in the capital by sending me away?

There wasn’t anything suspicious in his schedule, but if he had to come to the Bureau of Investigation and Security to retrieve the chips containing evidence… Adrian must have already known that Kyle had doubts about the strange occurrences in Angelic, specifically the human-like machines.

Spreading the scandal that led to Kyle’s dismissal to Central Edman, which, by all accounts, was Adrian’s attempt to prevent the investigation from progressing in any way.

However, it was not himself Kyle was worried about. Deceitful plays weren’t enough to constrain him. He pressed down on his temples, feeling his head throbbing.

Actually, the problem was Noah. Given Noah’s behavior, which had always been careless around him, there could be no guarantee that she would not do the same to other men.

Of course, he had lost some of his power as head of the Bureau of Defense, so if Noah continues to progress in the capital, it’ll help the investigation…

But it was unpleasant. There was a sense of ridiculous jealousy that swelled in Kyle’s chest, and this time, emotion won over reason.

“I haven’t cared for someone to this extent.”
