Chapter 856: Declaration of Invasion

Chapter 856: Declaration of Invasion

“This information has been hidden from the public, but for the past four years, our world has been invaded by mysterious beings that are strong enough to destroy entire cities. But thanks to the efforts of our S-Class Heroes, the damage was contained and none were harmed.” The Genesis Hero’s words echoed through all the smartphones.

Her figure vanished as images of damaged landscapes were displayed. A land barren with toxic waste scattered around, blood that was purple with a neon hue, the trees wilted, and metal constructs lodged into the ground.

At the centre of it was a gigantic creature, a humanoid monster bearing a close resemblance to a human but turned into a monstrous creature with all the implants. But most of all was its size.

A behemoth spanning forty metres, currently in pieces, the signs of brute force pummelling its body evident all across. But if one focused on the image, they would notice torn shreds of a Hero Costume nearby and crimson blood splashed around.

The desolate landscape and the monstrous creature sent fear through the spines of those watching. But before they could process it entirely, the image changed to reveal another desolate landscape, with a monstrous humanoid corpse present in the centre.

The images flashed, displaying dozens of such desolate landscapes, and at the centre of it all were the monstrous humanoids. The Genesis Hero’s voice resounded in the background while the images continued to flash, “We’ve set up barriers to prevent information regarding this from being leaked to the populace to avoid mass panic.”

“But, things aren’t the same anymore.” Her voice turned a pitch solemn, “Despite my powers shielding our world, these entities have managed to figure out a way to infiltrate and invade. And recently, the frequency of invasions has increased.”

“From once a month to once every damn three days. And the weakest of these monsters are on par with a Class-B Hero. Therefore, to prevent us from getting overwhelmed, the Hero Association has decided to invade the source and solve the issue there where we needn’t worry about collateral damage.”

“The first retaliation would be commencing in an hour. That’s all,” She said as the message ended, “All other details are posted on our official website. Stay informed from there.”

“In one hour?” Muscle Lantern was shocked as he turned around, wishing to see if Compass Carburettor had something to say, ‘After all, if he’s the Genesis Hero’s father, he should be aware of something like this happening.’

“What the…?” He was surprised to see that Compass Carburettor’s expression was one of disbelief, staring at the phone with a sharpened gaze.

“This world…is being invaded?” Compass Carburettor muttered in shock, “How? Gehera didn’t even say anything regarding this to me.”

“No, if she was aware, then she would have told me. This means,” He muttered, staring at his phone, ‘Stencil masked this information from everyone, huh.’

‘No wait, how come even I didn’t notice this? Moreover, I know how strong the barrier protecting this world is. It managed to block even Truck-Kun’s concept. And even Hazen had to spend decades to gradually transport his body through his timeline.’ His hands trembled as the phone cracked in response, ‘Then, how the fuck did these bastards infiltrate such a world?’

His eyes widened as Compass Carburettor took in a deep breath before staring at the sky, focusing to see the rings covering the world. There were 24 rings in total, invisible to the natives, protecting the world from foreign powers.

There wasn’t any gap in this as it blocked everything. Compass Carburettor was unable to see past that, just like before.

But as he stared at it, he inferred based on his records, observing that in some locations, there were subtle traces of recovery and healing. Meaning, those regions had been damaged before.

And as he observed them, as if spurred by the Genesis Hero’s announcement, there were scuttling vibrations in various locations of the barrier.

On the opposite side were giant tentacled creatures, sporting a mouthpart similar to a mosquito that drilled into the barrier. There were tens of thousands of the same.

Seated on their back was a humanoid monster each, controlling the tentacled monsters. They didn’t attack all over the barrier but only focused on some locations.

And these locations were directly above the regions of the world where the most fate had congregated. Meaning, those places had geniuses that would have a large impact on the world’s development.

It was apparent that they were targeting such locations to deal with the booming talents, ready to cripple this world’s development.

Swish!

A lone figure flashed to the terrace of the Academy building. It was a male, sporting ripped muscles and having an imposing air as if he were a mountain range. His hero suit was a shade of dark brown, bordered by green.

The moment he arrived, he pulled out a large flat plate that transformed into a doll, of a dragon plushie. It sported tiny wings that flapped slowly but still maintained itself stably in the air.

The comical eyes of the dragon plushie blinked as it spoke, “Dumbass, I was sleeping.”

“Cut the crap,” The man said in a hurry, “Scan the fate convergence in this Academy. I fear this is the next target of the Invaders. There should be someone with a large fate among the students here.”

“Hmm, I wonder…” The plushie rolled in the air before releasing a gentle energy fluctuation that appeared no different to the sunlight as it scanned the crowd of students before pointing at two students, its hands trembling as it said, “Oh no, there are two students. And their fate is enormous, S-Class potential.”

“Two?” The man growled in response, “This is troublesome. It’ll be hard for me to protect all the students if two S-Class Invaders were to arrive…”

Boom!

He had yet to finish his statement when there was a loud rumble. It seemed loud but was only audible to him. The students didn’t even hear anything.

The man stared at the sky, watching a hole form in their defensive barrier as two tentacled creatures squeeze through a hole they drilled when suddenly, light shone on the barrier as it slammed shut, crushing the two tentacled creatures before dissolving their bodies into energy.

But before they died, they threw the two humanoid monsters on their back through the hole, ones whose target was the Nampur Hero Academy.

Eyes blazing with starlight, their mouths opened wide, revealing gator teeth as they stared at the two students with the potent fate, “Grahhhh!”
