I Hate Systems

Chapter 818: Trapping Arnark

Chapter 818: Trapping Arnark

In a three-way war, having the third party acting as a bystander was a recipe for disaster for the other two parties.

And since he was the only one on their side that now had fighting strength, Compass Carburettor had to take advantage of any situation. Otherwise, even with an infinite energy supply, he would still be overwhelmed by the terrifying Systems.

What best way to protect his skin than by dragging Arnark into the conflict?

“Fucker!” Arnark glared in anger before choosing to flee, having zero intentions of getting involved in the conflict.

“The main character should always be at the centre of the conflict. Even the theme of the conflict should involve the main character’s interests at its core.” Saying so, Compass Carburettor turned around and made a beeline towards the Fantasy World.

Dozens of worms jutted out of the ground and caused their bodies to swell up before unleashing massive projectiles filled with the power of Spirit Morph and Punisher Lightning, hacking into the boundaries of the apocalyptic setting.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The attacks bombarded the boundary as the Punisher Lightning first began to resist the powers of the apocalyptic setting. Following that, Spirit Morph gradually transformed more and more of the boundary into Mental Fragments, out of which Compass Carburettor birthed another member.

The member was shaped into a worm too that extended out of the boundary before chomping down on it, causing cracks to form before soon, a small portion was ripped apart.

“Tch!” The Apocalypse System snorted in anger before unleashing a beam of corruption onto the worms growing on the boundary, annihilating them in an instant to see the damaged portions heal in a matter of seconds.

But, despite that, Compass Carburettor was still rowing the truck in that direction, making it seem like he had other plans.

“Don’t let him escape.” The Apocalypse System said as the Waning Essence System charged forth first, targeting him to rapidly cause his energy levels to drop to a minimum.

But an instant later, Compass Carburettor was brimming with energy once again, causing it to curse in response, “Immortal is helping him. I can’t negate Immortal’s power.”

“Stop!” Right as Compass Carburettor was about to arrive at the border, Arnark appeared between the two, activating his powers to send Compass Carburettor flying.

But at this moment, Compass Carburettor broke into a confident smile, saying softly as he transmitted a Mental Energy stream.

[I’ve brought them here just as you instructed, Arnark. Now, kill the Apocalypse.]

Even though his words were transmitted through a Mental Energy stream, what were the enemies he was facing? They were Systems, with the weakest being at Grade 2. They had the means to glean information from the Mental Energy stream.

And upon knowing what he said, even if they had suspicions that he was just playing them, they couldn’t be sure, especially since both Arnark and Compass Carburettor were expertly cunning actors.

Arnark could genuinely be against Compass Carburettor in this confrontation, or they could be plotting to destroy the Systems. After all, Arnark would indeed be glad to trap and kill them, for by absorbing them, the foundation of the Fantasy World would deepen even further, making it more and more difficult to target it in the future.

As both situations were plausible enough, the Systems targeted Arnark too, launching a stream of attacks against him.

Main Character Core Skill—Restriction Order (Level 92)!

Instantly, a mystical power erupted around Arnark and coursed through the place, causing the attacks to weaken rapidly as they slowed down to a crawl.

Arnark stared at the attacks before glaring at them, causing them to dissipate instantly.

“What?” The Tell-Tale System was alarmed, “When did the Restriction Order become this strong? Wasn’t it only capable of sealing the activation of Skills and Core Skills? Unleashed abilities shouldn’t be restricted by it.”

“That was before,” Arnark said before glaring at the figure of Compass Carburettor turning around to charge at the Systems, gritting his teeth as he thought, ‘But, Lore upgraded it. Or more like, through Lore, I can fine-tune its characteristics and change it as I need.’

This was why Lore was the topmost power among all the Main Character Core Skills. Through it, Arnark was able to tweak the Restriction Order in real-time to target unleashed abilities too. He could also fine-tune his growth, rendering him invincible in the long run.

It had to be noted that in the short span of two years, the four Main Characters that branched off from Compass Carburettor achieved wonders. Given a decade or two, they would have gained overwhelming powers.

Compass Carburettor erected a wall surrounding all the Systems, one that enclosed them before which millions upon millions of guns manifested in the inner surface, focusing on them before unleashing a bombardment.

Most of the bullets were just regular bullets, condensed using the air of the apocalyptic setting. The bullets weren’t like those from the original Anthozoa though.

After obtaining the power of Spirit Morph, Compass Carburettor gained the ability to shape the bullets as he pleased, not to mention the form of the gun.

And hence, the unleashed bullets were each the size of a house now, slamming into the Systems like a meteor shower.

The majority of these were just to force the Systems on the defensive, as their bodies would indeed take damage from such attacks in the apocalyptic setting.

Mixed amid such attacks were bullets coursing with Punisher Lightning that slammed into the Systems, riddling them with injuries.

Unfortunately, this dome only remained active for two seconds before it was destroyed by the Invader System who absorbed all the energy in the walls before vaporising the Mental Fragments.

“You’re starting to piss me off!” The Invader System glared at Compass Carburettor before noticing that the virus in its body was starting to act up once again. It thrust its hand into its body and ripped out the infected virus-cell, unleashing myriad abilities onto it in anger, “I’ll show you my true power!”

“Oh no, you don’t!” Arnark attacked in a hurry upon seeing it try to influence the Main Character System fragment in the virus cell. It would only worsen his situation, and hence, he had to strike first.

The Restriction Order slammed into the Invader System, nulling all the abilities it had unleashed when Arnark appeared before it, punching its face to send it flying before grabbing hold of the virus cell.

But at this moment, the Regression System flashed behind him before clapping its hands to trap Arnark within, and then…

Regression!

“Keuk!” Arnark grunted in pain as he could notice his timeline getting influenced by the Regression System. But at this moment, he suddenly self-destructed, resulting in a resounding explosion that sent the Regression System skidding backwards.

Swish!

Arnark appeared at their camp, gasping for breath as he kneeled for a moment, “That was close.”

Main Character Core Skill—Checkpoint (Level 92)!

“Indeed.” Suddenly, another voice resounded beside him, causing him to jump away in alarm to stare at a Secret Society member drilling out of the ground from nearby to transform into a humanoid form, condensing a gun to take a shot, collapsing in response.

The bullet was fully condensed using the mist. It slammed into the Hunter System, exploding one of its arms before stunning its body as the mist coursed through it.

Core Skill—World Spirit (Level 286)!

The Hunter System’s injury healed rapidly as it charged at Arnark’s base, also creating an army of hunters that charged alongside.

All the Grade 2 Systems began to do the same, realising that fighting on their own made things too dangerous. It was better to swarm the enemy when allowed to do so.

The Grade 3 Systems unleashed their powers onto the created races, strengthening them hundreds of times to turn each individual into a powerhouse.

Honestly, just the army they had created in a matter of seconds was enough to take down an entire world in a day. And these worlds weren’t weak but those with a strong power system like in Wuxia Worlds.

It just showed the terrifying nature of the Systems.

The Apocalypse System charged at the front while the Regression System observed from the back, gradually seeping its power into the timeline of its enemies.

‘Hmm? Why can’t I sense the timeline of Compass Carburettor’s main body?’ The Regression System looked around before its eyes widened in shock, ‘That freaking madman!’

After all, using the power of Truck-Kun, he had now entered the domain within which the abilities of Zaira and Immortal were splashing around. It was a death zone for any entity, for the level of battle was beyond what anyone could handle.

Boom!

Slayer slammed into the Apocalypse System to send it flying away, grunting when he was wounded in response too. Getting up with a start, the Apocalypse System charged at him once again.

“Defend yourselves!” Balveta screamed as she and the other four Universe Relic wielders erected defensive formations to defend against the army created by the Systems.

Swoosh!

The Tell-Tale System took the charge to leap towards Arnark, screaming, “Ignore!”

“Wha…” For a moment, Arnark blanked out before noticing in horror that the virus-cell had been stolen. Immediately, the Tell-Tale System vanished, retreating to the safety of its comrades before beginning to influence the virus cell.

“Koff!” Arnark collapsed to the ground suddenly and coughed out blood, staring in surprise as he muttered, “Damn you…”

“Compass.”
