Chapter 776: Universal Relic

Chapter 776: Universal Relic

“What…are we supposed to do here?” Balveta trembled in fear upon sensing the gazes of all the mighty beings converging upon her. And among them, she noticed the familiar figure of Compass Carburettor, one that she had encountered before.

‘How…is he this strong?’ Balveta was alarmed. Back then, even though Compass Carburettor was strong enough to dare face them all, despite the odds to protect his daughter, he was simply…strong.

But now, he was terrifying, especially since two absolute authorities were defining him. First of the absolute authorities was the fact that anyone harbouring ill intent towards him would experience their respective memories wiped clear.

This meant that no enemy of his could scheme against him. Secondly, he was now able to transform anything that met his eye into Mental Energy.

What this implied was straight-up nightmarish. None would be able to scheme against Compass Carburettor with ill intent. And even if they managed to bypass that, anything that dared face his sight would be turned into energy to fuel him further.

Considering how all these changes happened in a mere year terrified her, ‘Is this what a true Main Character means? In comparison, the previous Main Characters we hunted were simply cute.’

‘No, wait.’ Her eyes widened in surprise before she stared at Slayer’s back, ‘None of those Main Characters were cute. They too were terrifying. But, it was because of Slayer that they seemed cute.’

She shuddered at the thought as she stared at Compass Carburettor, ‘This implies that Compass Carburettor is someone that Slayer is unable to handle, just like Arnark. Fuck!’

“Whatever happens next wouldn’t be pretty.” Warl said, standing erect as murderous intent congealed in himself as gradually, every single Skill and Core Skill he obtained flowed into his Personal Fragment, a Relic that Slayer had meticulously created for his use by modifying his original Personal Fragment, forming imprints on it, “We should begin preparations.”

“Slayer…” He whispered.

“I’ll permit their use.” Slayer nodded in response, not breaking eye contact with his enemies as his words resounded in the ears of the five peak System Slayers, “Shed the defective Main Character System fragments.”

“Alright,” Warl was the first to nod in response as instantly, his Personal Fragment shone with resplendent light, consuming all the Skills and Core Skills, devouring them as the Relic evolved in response.

Relics were capable of consuming System fragments. This was their primary trait. But, they had a limit, due to the development of the profession the Relic was based upon.

That all changed after Slayer gained control over all the professions. A mysterious energy flowed from his body and entered the Relic, rapidly transforming its structure to become part of all the professions of the Fantasy World.

Thereby, the sheer growth of its foundation allowed it to consume even stronger Systems, surpassing the Grade 1 Limit that only Slayer was able to surpass before.

And, this allowed Warl’s Relic to also consume a certain something that was inherently part of him all along, from the start of his journey as a System Slayer.

Main Character System Fragment!

Grade 1 Systems could only exist as a single entity. In contrast, Grade 2 Systems could fragment themselves into billions of fragments, with each able to reside in a host of its own.

The Main Character System fragment was between the two. Despite being a Grade 1 System, it was capable of fragmenting itself into a thousand fragments. And each fragment turned a normal living being into a System Slayer, giving them unsurmountable powers.

Each fragment was equivalent to ten Level 99 Grade 1 Systems. That was their base power, which was why System Slayers were able to refine and obtain the Core Skills of Systems from any genre, facing no negative effects in doing this.

Moreover, they could also level up by absorbing any form of Mental Energy, unlike normal Systems that could only consume Mental Energy fit for what they represented.

In terms of Mental Energy absorption, they adopted the traits of Grade 3 Systems or even surpassed them in that they could practically absorb any form of Mental Energy and develop without problems.

This was the special trait of the Main Character System. That was why, despite being a single fragment among the thousand that formed the Main Character System as a whole, it couldn’t be absorbed by a Relic.

But now, after Slayer modified Warl’s Relic to accommodate all the professions, its foundation allowed him to even absorb a peak Grade 2 System, thereby allowing him to finally absorb the Main Character System fragment.

“So, this is your stance…” Compass Carburettor muttered, not expressing anything beyond that, knowing very well that he could recreate the consumed fragments in Conjurer’s world. He only had to accumulate enough fragments until it becomes a Main Character System Fragment—one among the thousand.

“Ridiculous! Have you gone senile, Gilthru?” The Tell-Tale System screamed in horror. Even it had never expected Gilthru to make plans against the Main Character System.

“Zaira, why aren’t you saying anything?” The Tell-Tale System turned around to ask in shock upon seeing the representation of the system World—Zaira—remain unresponsive about the whole ordeal.

After all, the reason the Tell-Tale System was so flustered wasn’t that Slayer consumed a Main Character System Fragment, but it was over the fact that among all Systems, the Main Character System was the most special, capable of reaching a height on par with Grade 4 Systems, and reign at the top even among Grade 4 Systems.

And, if even a System like that could be consumed by Slayer, then it meant that no System was safe against Slayer, Whether Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, or even the invincible Grade 4 Systems. All were susceptible to being devoured by him.

The Main Character System fragment vanished as Warl lost his status as a System Slayer. But in contrast, his Relic evolved to an extent that the power of his professions was now effective against every other power system in existence.

“Universal Relic,” Slayer let out a calm smile as the five peak System Slayers under him transformed at the same time. His figure too transformed, causing the first Main Character System fragment to be created to vanish as he stared at the spectators, “This is my stance.”
