I Hate Systems

Chapter 461: Three Versus One

Chapter 461: Three Versus One

Boom!

Xuer immediately brought out dozens of Ice Cranes, unleashing a hail of ice spikes. The chillness also began to freeze up the mist, raising the humidity of the place.

Right at this time, tremendous heat was emitted as a Fire Crane took off into the air, with the heat and cold emitted by the two causing the mist to turn into water and clear up the area.

The Fire Crane was high up in the sky, constantly emitting flames. And best of all, it was also absorbing the ambient Origin Essence, constantly replenishing its reserves to attack long term.

Heaven Martial Spirit—Fire Crane!

And now, she also had the lightning attribute, unleashing bolts of lighting at Warktor, forcing him into a defensive stance. After all, her attacks were erratic, as in the nature of lightning. So, as even she didn’t know where the lightning bolts might curve, Warktor was unable to read her emotions to dodge on time.

Ranze’s body shone with a blinding light for a moment before his figure shot forth rapidly.

Trash Martial Spirit—Full Body Armour!

Attribute—Unbreakable Etherite!

Trash Martial Spirit—Crossbow!

Attribute—Soul Lightning!

The Unbreakable Etherite lacked any weight, so his full body armour didn’t even hinder his movements by one bit and was tremendously tough.

Ranze rushed straight at Warktor, summoning a shield to defend against his attack, smiling when there was barely a scratch on his shield, ‘Indeed, its toughness is on a whole other level. Worthy of having the Unbreakable title.’

He was able to use two Martial Spirits. So, Ranze varied them nonstop, using them as he pleased. When there were too many attacks, he activated the full body armour, defending against the strongest of attacks with a shield while the armour deflected the rest.

And during the rest, he summoned two crossbows, unleashing Soul Lightning arrows.

These arrows were even able to injure the souls of the targets. They were incredibly dangerous, especially against System Hosts.

Even Compass Carburettor was unsure as to what the relation between the mind and soul was, having not encountered anything related until now. But when he chanced upon this fusion material, he felt drawn to it somehow.

He wasn’t sure about it. But no matter, he had better opinions to obtain as he summoned the System Slayer Compass Carburettor and the Main Character Compass Carburettor, both originating from the Apocalypse World, asking for their opinion.

And, both of them gave their vote of approval, stating that making Ranze fuse with the material would be beneficial to go against the Systems.

Even though the mysterious guy in the System World that addressed himself as Psychic Ancestor Phantom stated that Systems had no soul, since his two past self versions gave their seal of approval, he decided to go ahead with it.

The two Soul Lightning Arrows slammed into the fiery disc summoned by Warktor, vanishing at the moment of contact, confusing him.

But in his mind though, things were different as the Luck Siphon System was startled to see the two arrows accurately slam into it from out of nowhere, causing it to scream.

Even though the attack didn’t damage it much, the shock of being attacked did more damage than the attack itself. And in its fluster, it caused Warktor’s pile of memories to be flung away during its body’s sudden jerk.

This action influenced his actions, suddenly causing a lapse in his judgement as his spinning fiery disc moved a tad to the side, allowing an ice spike to slip through the gap and wound the side of his thigh before melting under the heat.

“Troublesome brat…” Warktor frowned, summoning his Martial Spirit. Until now, he had only been using his Origin Arts to fight against them. But now that he had been injured, he couldn’t hold back any longer.

Heaven Martial Spirit—Lava Chakram!

The spinning disc manifested, flinging lava everywhere as it spun. This itself was an attack, causing everyone to flee far away.

Ranze hurriedly dashed behind a large boulder, seeing drops of lava splatter everywhere, raising a lot of smoke. As for the mist, it was fully cleared in their surroundings, up to a height of hundred metres.

Though, beyond that height was still full of mist.

Xuer had taken flight atop her Ice Crane, creating a barrier of Unbreakable Etherite underneath her that shielded her from the splattering lava.

Her Ice Puppets began to melt one after another due to the heat and lava splatter, but they continued to unleash ice spikes as she brought out even more of them, rapidly plunging the temperature of the region further.

Bunuela moved atop Xuer, taking advantage of her sturdy shield, “He’s too troublesome!”

“Of course! Did you think this would be easy?” Xuer replied, “Small attacks wouldn’t work against him. Prepare a big one!”

“With your lightning!” She said, “Ranze would coordinate with your attacks using his lightning. Don’t use your fire. He’ll resist most of the heat.”

“Alright.” Bunuela began to focus as she slowly condensed a tiny lightning crane on the top of her palm, smiling upon succeeding on the first try. She continued to pour her Origin Essence into it, expanding its size until it was as big as her head, hurling it towards Warktor, “Here I come!”

“Alright!” Xuer shouted as all her Ice Crane Puppets targeted the Lava Chakram, suppressing its lava. Surprisingly, she managed to create a mild later of frost on it, even if it was only for a second.

Using that time, Ranze summoned a ballista, turning his second Martial Spirit into a Soul Lightning Arrow. Unlike other cultivators, he had two Martial Spirits. And due to its traits, even if one were to be destroyed, he only needed to expend some Origin Essence to recover it back.

So, he didn’t even hesitate to turn it into an arrow and load it into the ballista, pouring all his Origin Essence into it, aiming at Warktor to launch it.

Kheeee!

Boom!

The Lightning Crane deftly evaded all of Warktor’s attacks and slammed into him. As for Ranze’s arrow, it was terrifying, overpowering all of his defences, shattering the countless defensive Artifacts he had erected in succession.

As the arrow was his Martial Spirit, it was constantly absorbing the ambient Origin Essence, recovering the energy expended to destroy the barriers as it slammed into Warktor, causing him to scream in pain, “Aaargh!”

Of course, as a veteran of the Apocalypse World, he wouldn’t scream at a mortal injury. The scream originated from the System in him that affected his actions through his memories.

After all, the arrow of course vanished upon contact, slamming into the Luck Siphon System instead.
