Chapter 445: Sacrifice Resulting in a Mere Day’s Delay

Compass Carburettor gently planted the Mutated Blood Vitality Grass on Dullin’s corpse, feeling its mutations continue to deepen. But he immediately commanded it to stop absorbing Dullin’s essence, “This wouldn’t do.”

The reason was that this Blood Vitality Grass was his ability. So, he was able to sense its changes clearly. And now that he had the Origin Art of Divine Sense, he was able to gain a clearer understanding.

It was the fact that absorbing Dullin’s body wasn’t enough to fully mutate the Blood Vitality Grass.

The reason he was looking for this was simple. He could break through to reach the Martial Origin Stage anytime. But, the reason he was holding back was to raise his foundation to the limit.

Other than that, after a breakthrough, his cultivation would only be at the Pseudo Martial Origin Stage. Only after their Martial Spirit fuses with a material would he reach the First Layer of the Martial Origin Stage.

Compass Carburettor planned to fuse with his Mental Energy Sphere. Since his Martial Spirit was the Mind Toad, fusing with the Mental Energy Sphere would give him the greatest benefits.

The final treasure zone in the Folkan Secret Realm would open on the last day. It consisted of the most mysterious of materials to fuse with.

Compass Carburettor was thinking that there was a chance he could find a good enough material there. But, it would be dangerous because Chenger and Warktor would be aiming for the same.

So, the Mental Energy Sphere was a sure-fire option that would grand him greater strength, allowing him to surprise his opponents and kill them.

But, the Mutated Blood Vitality Grass gave him a better version, since it seemed superior to even his Mental Energy Sphere.

Therefore, his goal was to use it as the fusion material once it finished mutating—turning jet-black wholly.

He didn’t just wait to chance upon a suitable material in the final treasure zone. Relying on luck against opponents that wielded luck? Courting death.

Besides, the Mutated Blood Vitality Grass had completely absorbed the essence of the Systems, the modifications they had done to their Hosts, their Mental Energy reserves, and their luck that had been fused to their Hosts.

Everything had been absorbed by the Mutated Blood Vitality Grass. And, Compass Carburettor could state with a guarantee that fusing with this would give him what he desired.

But, it wasn’t complete yet. Only around thirty percent of it had mutated and turned jet-black. Only after it fully mutates would it be perfect.

Since absorbing Dullin’s body wouldn’t be enough, Compass Carburettor thought up a plan. He motioned for the Claw Wolf to stay guard while rushing towards the border of the Temperate Refinement Zone, bringing out the Earth grade Golems, instructing them, “Capture as many Origin Beasts as possible and bring them here.”

He then used the Trash and Human Grade Golems to form a perimeter around the Temperate Refinement Zone, preventing anyone from entering.

Compass Carburettor then waited as the Earth Grade Golems soon returned, dragging a group of Origin Beasts that were beaten up pretty badly.

He turned them all into Sleeper Cells and also planted Blood Vitality Grass in each, giving them one command, “Think of Dullin nonstop.”

All the information related to Dullin had also been planted in their minds, allowing them to target their thoughts at Dullin.

Compass Carburettor then rushed towards the centre, noticing that the rate at which the Mental Energy Sphere in Dullin’s mouth was melting had noticeably slowed down.

“Indeed, it works. Now that the external Mental Energy has increased, his body has reached its limit and hence slowed down the rate at which it was digesting the Mental Energy Sphere.” He muttered.

Unlike the Mental Energy Sphere in his mouth, the Mental Energy Streams directly gushed into his body. So, his body automatically began to digest them first.

That was how Compass Carburettor understood that his plan was working.

There was another reason that he had begun this plan. It was thanks to the memories of the golems. It allowed him to understand that the minds of the cultivators that died in the Folkan Secret Realm would be sent to the Temperate Refinement Zone.

That was how the cultivators training here experience such an increase in their training abilities. It is because they can tap into the wealth of experiences and insight trapped here, entering a state of constant enlightenment.

A System’s body belonged to the mind. Meaning that Dullin, a Host with whom a System had fused, had a body that was half in the domain of the mind. And considering the place his corpse was at, it formed the perfect gateway that allowed Compass Carburettor to tap into the massive reserve of Mental Energy of the place.

The Origin Beasts under his control all entered the Temperate Refinement Zone, beginning to train while thinking of Dullin. They tapped into the reserve of the region, entering a state of constant enlightenment while training.

And since they were only thinking about Dullin while training, the Mental Energy Streams they unleashed carried this enlightenment, causing a connection to form between Dullin and the Temperate Refinement Zone.

Compass Carburettor deepened the connection by causing the roots of the Mutated Blood Vitality Grass to spread through the water in the region and come into contact with the roots growing out of the Origin Beasts.

Immediately, he shuddered, for through the Mutated Blood Vitality Grass, he could sense that it was absorbing the massive reserve of Mental Energy congregated in the region, using Dullin’s body as a catalyst to absorb and purify it.

Slowly, it was turning more and more jet-black in nature, causing sparkles resembling stars to dot all over it.

The Earth Grade Golems continued to capture and bring in more and more Origin Beasts.

In the meantime, the four Heaven Grade Golems began to clean up the Temperate Refinement Zone, slowly increasing the potency of the region.

“Alright, it’s proceeding smoothly.” Compass Carburettor smiled, leaving his safety to the army of golems as he began to train in the centre.

As the potency of the region began to increase once again, he could gain a greater advantage through training. Had Dullin seen this scene, he would have shed buckets of tears.

His sacrifice only pushed Compass Carburettor’s plans behind by one day. But in contrast, his corpse was used to grant greater benefit to him.

Indeed, true merchants would never suffer a loss.
