Chapter 371: Backup Plans

Chapter 371: Backup Plans

Gaider Realm; on a desolate landmass surrounded by saltwater on all sides, a place that was suffering from an intense case of desertification, there arrived Compass Carburettor.

The landmass spanned a length of 20 kilometres and a breadth of 17 kilometres, with tiny islands scattered around it, with most of them not crossing ten square metres in area.

Situated in the centre of this landmass was a village where less than a hundred people lived. The village only consisted of poor huts that were a mixture of wood and clay.

The villagers had once been the royalty of an empire in the Gaider Realm. But a rebellion resulted in them losing power. And, all the royalty, including the ministers that had staunchly supported them were deported to this landmass.

It was because the rebels staunchly wished for peace, unwilling to cause bloodshed, for that would make them no different from the tyrants that had oppressed them.

That was why they had destroyed the Martial Spirits of the royals and the ministers before leaving them to fend for themselves on this tiny landmass.

More than a century had passed since then, with those currently living on this landmass having no hand in their wretched past. At present, they were struggling to survive on the land that was growing less fertile as the days spanned past.

Hunger was a constant issue they had to face. And due to the water currents, no ship would ever be able to reach them. And due to the temperature of the ocean currents, there was a lack of fish living in their proximity.

The villagers were barely surviving. Contact with the mainland was impossible, for that was situated far away in the ocean, a distance beyond what they could scale.

After all, the ocean consisted of terrifying Origin Beasts that could destroy even the toughest of ships, not to mention the flimsy boats they could create with their labour and resources.

A fate of one where they had to slowly starve themselves to death over the course of a few years.

But, that changed when Compass Carburettor landed in the centre of the village abruptly, with pompous grandeur. Well, all he did was envelop a massive Spydragon with the Mental Energy Body Layer, arriving with a terrifying intensity as the flapping of its wings unleashed fierce gales.

All the villagers came out into the open, gazing at the Spydragon with fear. Some of them had even accepted their end, feeling that it was better to die before their humanity slipped away due to hunger.

“You won’t die.” Compass Carburettor said, waving his hand as a massive building made of pearl cropped up immediately, large enough to accommodate thousand people. It was spacious, with rooms meant for families within the massive building.

The walls were thick while there was a semblance of grandeur to the architecture. All in all, it was akin to a palace for those that lived in huts.

Compass Carburettor slowly walked in through the entrance as the villagers gazed at one another, deciding to follow him in the end, controlling their shock at the massiveness of the building.

After all, their huts ranged between two to three metres in height while this building was ten times the height, not to mention its vast size that incorporated a massive granary, public bathrooms, underground water reservoir, and even flower orchards.

Though, nothing grew in the flower orchards while the water reservoir and the granary were empty. But, that would be solved soon enough.

Compass Carburettor arrived at a special location in the building, gazing at the circular stretch of land that spanned a metre in radius. Smiling, he brought out his Vitality Bowl, placing it in the designated area, watching the roots drill into the place.

It was struggling to move a bit but once the roots had firmed themselves, the Vitality Bowl had stabilised, showing no signs of disappearing due to the Restriction Order.

This was what he had found out. Anything related to external—not belonging to the Gaider Realm—abilities was fully suppressed. But, if it’s something related to items, especially something that was still within the laws of the Gaider Realm, it was acceptable.

That was why Compass Carburettor had created some energy blades for his use. They wouldn’t vanish even after the Restriction Order finishes taking effect. It seemed similar materials indeed existed in the world, though absolutely rare.

And similarly, as long as he already set up the External Item of Vitality Bowl, it wouldn’t be affected. After all, what it did wasn’t anything that went beyond the rules of the Gaider Realm.

The Vitality Bowl was in essence, just grass that was able to bear fruits and tree sap…a variety of them that came in all forms. So, in the rules of the Gaider Realm, it was just considered a special version of a tree.

Once the Restriction Order takes full effect, he wouldn’t be able to set up the Vitality Bowl anywhere. So, Compass Carburettor decided to take full advantage of it, setting it up here.

Grisha too had the same Vitality Bowl. She had placed it in the ruins within the Misty Gorge Ruins, treating the place as their home base. Compass Carburettor had already firmed the defensive means of the place using his Apocalypse Pearl, creating multiple traps and the likes.

He was being careful about everything, unwilling to use his energy blade activated using Darlac or Mental Energy. They were rather valuable. But in contrast, the Apocalypse Pearl wasn’t that valuable, nor did it have any significant properties.

That was why he used it for a variety of things. After all, he did things with the thought that even if it fell into the hands of his enemies, nothing would change.

The Vitality Bowl slowly began to produce water as Compass Carburettor declared, “During the night, it’ll produce water. And during the day, it’ll produce a variety of grains. In honour of my name, this village will be known as Hazen Village. And until the end of time, my people will never face thirst or hunger.”

“In my name, a bountiful life you would lead.” Compass Carburettor said, condensing a statue of himself before them, one where his Mental Energy Body Layer-wearing figure stood upon his Mind Toad.

Of course, the statue was fully made by the Apocalypse Pearl as Compass Carburettor gazed at everyone, seeing green trails of Mental Energy between them, smiling as he patted the shoulder of the closest villager that was kneeling while shedding tears of joy.
