I Hate Systems

Chapter 172: Stencil

Chapter 172: Stencil

Right as they entered the house, Compass Carburettor noticed the newspaper lying at the entrance, picking it up as he brought it with him. During the morning, they had been in a rush to head towards the research institute the moment it opened up.

And considering the sequence of events that happened the previous night, they didn’t bother looking at the newspaper.

But, now that he opened it, his face turned pale for a moment while his heart thumped in increasing intensities. For, he realised one thing clearer now.

The changes were accelerating!

On the third page of the newspaper was the local news, regarding events that happened in their city—Feora City. And, the incident reported there was of an illicit relationship where a middle-aged lady had forced herself upon a young boy in a certain park.

And for some reason, the both of them mated like there was no tomorrow before collapsing to the ground, unconscious. And, as the incident had happened late into the night, there wasn’t any passer-by in their vicinity.

Due to that, the two of them remained in the open throughout the night, naked, unprotected. As the night turned cold, and thanks to their overexerted exhausted selves from the intense mating session, they were weak, which lead to their deaths as their bodies rapidly cooled.

The incident was reported as drug abuse among both of them as officials stated that they would look into the case further and determine the source the drug was disseminated. After all, the boy had great moral conduct in his university.

And, he wasn’t rich enough to afford any drugs. There wasn’t much information related to them beyond that as Compass Carburettor sighed.

For the general populace, they wouldn’t place much emphasis on this piece of news. All they would do is caution their family members about drug abuse and the risks that came with it, using this news to show that taking drugs would only lead to swift deaths.

Beyond that surface-level reaction, they won’t express anything beyond.

But, he was aware of the reason for their deaths. After all, Grisha had parked her car near the same park where the two victims had been at too.

And, all of them had been targeted by the mutated creature, enveloping their body and mind with lust.

Since Grisha had been unable to find any male in her vicinity, the comment on his appearance made by her mother, and the information related to the end of his shift resounded in her mind, causing her to approach him.

And, he had used the System Fragment of Minor Healing to save her after the deed was done. If he hadn’t don’t that, she would have died.

As for him, his physique was stronger than a regular human, by a lot. So, his condition recovered after some rest. After all, he had the Skill of Natural Recovery to aid him.

‘So, it had more than one victim. That’s a voracious appetite.’ He then showed Grisha the article, causing her to tremble as she read through it, knowing very well what would have happened to her if Compass Carburettor hadn’t managed to kill it.

She then asked after some thought, “But, how come I feel fine after that?”

She gazed at him, saying despite her face reddening up, “When I recall those scenes, I realise that you…weren’t actually holding back. You were going at it with enough force to seriously injure me.”

“Sorry about that…” He scratched his cheek, smiling wryly, “I had a healing ability that I used on you after that, once I came to my senses. Otherwise, you too wouldn’t have survived.”

“Then…” She approached him, coiling her hands around his neck, kissing him, “Can you be gentle tonight?”

“You’re in the mood despite what we witnessed just now?” Compass Carburettor was surprised, laughing, ‘She’s wired differently.’

“That and this are different. Who knows, maybe we won’t even have such an opportunity in the future,” Grisha hugged him, “Besides, I want to feel you properly now, on my own, and not under some external influence.”

After a wrestling session that lasted an hour, Compass Carburettor had fallen asleep. As for Grisha, she used his arms as a pillow, slumped on him, using his body as her bed, comfortably latched onto him like a koala bear.

When he was deep in sleep, he was suddenly jolted awake as one of his Core Skills went off. It was Info Scanner. Getting up with a start, he activated the Core Skill completely, startled. For, an enemy had appeared.

[Remembrance System (Level 2): 17 Mental Energy]

‘Wait, why are its level and mental energy reserves displayed too?’ Compass Carburettor was shocked before he recalled all the information related to the Core Skill, nodding in response, ‘I see, for higher levelled Systems, even its name wouldn’t be displayed. But, since this Remembrance System’s Level is lower than the Skill’s level, this level of information is displayed.’

Currently, Info Scanner was at Level 3. Based on the amount of Mental Energy he was getting, it’ll take him a month before it reached level 10. After all, there wasn’t a steady supply of Mental Energy.

While on the Darble World, there were the members and other people constantly praying to the symbol of Secret Society. So, upgrading all the Skills was pretty easy.

Still, as the Skill level was greater than the System’s level, it even showed the amount of Mental Energy his opponent displayed. ‘But, this is the limit as to the amount of information Info Scanner can show even if it reaches level 10. Only after it exceeds this level can it show deeper information.’

‘But still, this is great. As long as I know the amount of Mental Energy a System has, I can plan accordingly.’ He thought, sending out a Spydragon to scout his enemy. Thanks to having interacted with the Slave Harem System, he knew for a fact that 17 Mental Energy wasn’t worth noting about.

Thanks to Info Scanner, he was able to pinpoint the Remembrance System’s location. Soon, the Spydragon coursed through the air, arriving at the window to a certain house, noticing that the lights within the room were switched on.

It peered through the glass, outlining the figure seated before a computer when Compass Carburettor got up with a start, springing to his feet as he was unable to control his emotions. After all, the one the Spydragon had seen was someone he wished to meet with all along, hoping for that day to become reality during every moment of his existence.

Stencil!
