Chapter 168: Bio-Weapon

Chapter 168: Bio-Weapon

“Yes, mom, I got it. You don’t have to worry. Yeah…yes, I understand. No, it’s fine. You don’t have to come. I’m not even injured. Alright, I’ll get a check-up in a hospital. Yeah…Okay, see you!” Grisha ended the call, sighing as she looked at the figure of Compass Carburettor playing with the Armaments.

She waited for a couple of minutes, seeing a message arrive from her mother. After that, she dialled up another number, “Yes, Dr. Gregesh? I’m Grisha. Yes, I’ll be there in an hour. Yes, you don’t have to worry about that.”

Once she ended the call, Grisha said, “Dr. Gregesh is a trusted friend of my mother. He’s a research specialist that would be able to unearth all the details of the mutated animal.”

“That’s great,” Compass Carburettor nodded, placing the five Armaments on the table as he said, “Let’s get going then.”

“Wait, in those clothes?” She asked, pointing at the clothes he wore. “Can’t you wear something better?”

“Well, I’m sorry to have not brought clothes with me when I entered this world.” Compass Carburettor said sarcastically.

“Not that,” Grisha rolled her eyes, saying after a moment, “Let’s buy you some good clothes.”

“It’s not that important, right?” He sighed, “We can do that after giving this to Dr. Gregesh to research.”

“No, appearance matters a lot,” Grisha stressed further.

“Fine,” Compass Carburettor ruffled his hair, sighing in the end, “You do make a fair point. Let’s just buy something random and be done with it.”

“Alright!” She laughed, clearly excited for some reason, getting ready immediately.

The two then left the house and headed towards a nearby cloth store. Unwilling to waste any time, Compass Carburettor pointed at the closest store, dragged a stubborn Grisha into it, picked the first set of clothes he saw and paid for it.

He then dragged her back to the car and placed the clothes at the backseat, watching Grisha sit in the passenger seat grumpily, “What?”

“Nothing,” Grisha said, refusing to speak after that.

Shrugging, Compass Carburettor sat in the back seat and quickly changed his clothes, placing his old clothes in a bag before returning to the driver’s seat.

Grisha’s eyes widened a little as she laughed, her mood brightened up a bit, “Damn, these clothes actually look expensive when worn by you.”

Compass Carburettor laughed in response, beginning to habitually drive when he stopped the car all of a sudden, saying, “You drive. I don’t have a license.”

His sharp eyesight spotted a police officer standing far away to the front. It would be a pain if they were to be stopped for questioning.

They exchanged seats as Grisha began to drive, calmly, stably as compared to the previous night. Soon, they reached a research institute.

The moment they entered the institute, Grisha’s mobile rang as Dr. Gregesh said over the phone, “Drive to the back of the building. I’m waiting there.”

There were a couple of checks along the way, but thanks to Dr. Gregesh’s influence, they were let in without any questioning or inspection.

Grisha arrived at the back of the research institute, noticing Dr. Gregesh standing at the back entrance, holding a large suitcase in his hand. It was apparent that he planned to store the mutated creature in it.

The moment he saw them, Dr. Gregesh greeted them formally before Grisha opened the trunk of the car. But, just when Dr. Gregesh was about to touch the plastic bag, Compass Carburettor grabbed hold of his hand, warning him, “Sir, it’s pretty dangerous to come into direct contact with.”

“I see,” Dr. Gregesh didn’t seem bothered about his hand being grabbed by a young man. He was completely focused on the subject at hand. He was the director of the research institute, an old man in his late sixties.

But, due to his interest in the subject, he hadn’t retired, continuing to pass on his wisdom and knowledge to the younger generation.

He carefully grabbed the plastic bag, realising that it was air-tight, nodding in praise, “You’ve done well to seal it completely.”

“Just being in its presence affected us a bit. So, I took some precaution.” Compass Carburettor said in response.

Dr. Gregesh patted his shoulder, “Good work.”

He carefully placed the bag in the suitcase, closing it shut before carrying it carefully, thinking for a moment after taking a step as he gave the suitcase to Compass Carburettor, saying, “Can you carry it for me, young man?”

“Of course, sir. It would be my pleasure.” Compass Carburettor nodded as he carried the suitcase. The three of them entered the research institute, proceeding through an elevator before reaching the seventh floor, entering the private research lab of Dr. Gregesh.

“You can either wait outside or stay here and support me.” Dr. Gregesh said. And, upon looking at their enthusiastic eyes, he laughed, “Alright, gear up first.”

All three of them wore a basic hazmat suit as Dr. Gregesh opened up the suitcase, taking out the plastic bag from within before he cut it open.

Upon seeing the creature within, he said in remark, “Blasted heavens. What the heck is this creature?”

Though, he didn’t seem shocked, rather was just surprised, explaining to the other two, “Even though this is my first time, a couple of my colleagues in Deison City have conveyed their experiences about dissecting a certain Pomeranian that had mutated.”

“You mean the one said in news recently?” Grisha asked.

“Yes, that one.” Dr. Gregesh nodded, taking a small sample of the creature’s flesh before placing it under a microscope, saying as he observed, “Hmm, its cells seem like they had soaked up radiation. But, instead of turning into cancer cells, they have stabilised somehow. Interesting!”

He then set it aside, extracting a millilitre of a certain liquid present in a gland connected to the creature’s teeth, running some tests on it as he concluded, “Thankfully, we wore these hazmat suits. This toxin in its glands is an aphrodisiac.”

As Grisha and Compass Carburettor made eye contact, Dr. Gregesh continued to speak, “But, it’s not a regular aphrodisiac. Rather, once it enters the human body, it would alter their sweat glands, causing them to produce a different sweat that would cause the opposite sex to go into heat upon the mildest of contact.”

“This could pretty much turn into a bio-weapon if not eradicated.”
