It was really the demon, even a unique one. Of course, there was no way for such 'divine' individuals to appear on low floors, so Kyoya assumed that it was either avatar or belief's accumulated power taking such form to spread its influence.

The latter was more likely, but since the quest to trick the divine demon appeared, Kyoya had mixed thoughts about it. However, to trick the divine demon, didn't it mean that Kyoya had to speak with him?

Would he awaken the demon by any chance?

For now, it was a sleeping princess, so Kyoya decided to try something else. It wasn't due to fear, but Kyoya was already someone who used the divine demon's blessing. He remembered the way they talked back during the introduction, and it was just plain annoying.

That was why Kyoya took out the card of spades. This card had the ability to 'connect'. The concept of 'connecting' was rather diverse, but Kyoya felt like he should be able to connect his mind with this sleeping demon without awakening him.

He then would trick his powers to just go to the volcano's origin.

It would be by far the best option, and it also would make Kyoya's abilities stronger as he wasn't as familiar with this card yet. He bit the card of spades with number '6', then threw the other one with the same number to the demon's side. It obviously got burned, but Kyoya's mind shook as he felt the connection.

He felt warmness spreading on his forehead and heart, then his eyelid slowly fell. Momentary darkness wrapped his eyes, then Kyoya felt himself going through a fire-like tunnel to the mind of the sleeping princess. The fire room then spread itself widely.

'This is the mind of a divine demon.'

There was part of the demon's soul in the middle of the fire room. It was completely opposite to the one outside, as the demon had flesh and skin; he was like a human with demonic characteristics.

His ears were the same as his 'avatar'; then, his humanoid body had red skin, which didn't look weird at all. His red flame hairs were as if lit up, softly wriggling in this quiet room. It looked like the demon wasn't hostile at all from the appearance alone.

Those closed eyes were enough to trick naive people.

But Kyoya was disturbed by the messages appearing from the initial quest.

Everything boiled down to strength, which was something Kyoya could be only glad of. That was how he adapted to this another world! He was also happy with the fire resistance stat, and to get this power; the knives appeared within his hands.

Of course, it was the demon's mind room, so everything was imaginary. Nonetheless, Kyoya could summon his divine powers and make them usable here. His equipment wrapped itself around his self, then all powers accumulated through his time in another world began heating up inside.

Divine gold red sparks also flashed through Kyoya's knives in utmost silence.

He was all ready, and so he sprang forth slightly after!

Deceive usually created the avatar, and if Kyoya didn't wish to, then his powers would be wasted as it was hard for him to control this skill. However, his control over Joker's avatar became much better, and using this proficiency, Kyoya didn't summon any avatar.

The 'wasted' power went to his knives, bringing more golden-red sparks.

'Die.'

Like a ghost, Kyoya appeared behind the soul's remnant. His knives flashed briefly while his hands were up above the demon's head, then leaving the glittering golden-red trail, Kyoya already sunk the knives into the demon's neck.

"!"

He focused everything into this strike, but completely ready to bring the perfect execution, and yet the demon's eyes shot open. He felt an unimaginable pain spreading through his neck; then, with instincts working on its own, the demon swung his arm behind.

The demonic arm flared up and left the cloud of flames on its tail. This cloud was filled with deep red stars that exploded like mini bombs.

The fire demon used his flames and mini bombs to distance himself, though. The influence wasn't deep, so Kyoya could keep his calm and read his game system's content. It looked like these demons were truly a pain in the ass as even the system easily explained about their powers without many clues.

Of course, Kyoya got hurt and inflicted, but it was still something.

"So, there was a believer who could enter my mind."

The energy was too pure, though. The fire demon narrowed his eyes at the husband, who just ended confirming that he was okay despite the corruption of a new kind of power. Then, the husband just threw himself at the demon once again.

He couldn't let this man regain his whole composure!

This time, the avatars entered the fray!

"Too pure divine energy! You are either the beloved children of your god or someone who managed to snatch the power for yourself!"

And to answer this assault, the demon deeply probed into each avatar, then used the most of his power at the ones that could've been the husband himself. His experience was rich, and he could spot a few avatars' stiff movements and everything else that lacked in those.

His evil flames scorched on Kyoya's body, but the husband never stopped his knives. The momentum was slowly building up, after all, thanks to his initial execution skill! The flames and golden-red energies clashed then for the last time.

It was a knife against the flame cannon!

Kyoya's knife concepts and divine power tore through the flames like nothing, though. He was unstoppable, his steps continuously ringing in both demon and his ears! An uncountable amount of flame streaks shivered in front of his eyes, then the enraged face of the demon spread itself as the flame curtain revealed it grudgingly.

"DIE!"

"I found… your origins!"

Those were the last words of the fire demon as Kyoya's knife dug out his throat. He then pushed the demon's body forward to free himself. Before it could hit the ground, the demon's body began dissipating just like the whole fire room.

His eyes stayed wide and deeply looked at Kyoya.

There was some hate, curiosity, and killing intent mixed in.

"Demons have nice eyes."

As the soul lost its 'consciousness', Kyoya's game system began grasping all those fire streaks that were wriggling all over the place. It was mostly the power of The Sixth Death God's here influencing the system right now.

It allowed Kyoya to get more information about the chosen ones and their progress and prepared the special stat, which was fire resistance. Now, Kyoya had two of these, but Ice Divine's powers unluckily weren't permanent.

Regardless of that, Kyoya realized that special souls such as this demon were truly valuable, and it allowed him to prepare for other adventurers. That was only after this one, of course.

And as if copying the ice god, the game system formed the tattoo. The forearm with ice icicles got mixed with fire specks that blended together to form a rather cool tattoo.

These two rewards were too bountiful, each needed to be comprehended later on. This was why the husband decided to close the connection to check the situation outside quickly.

As he guessed, the manifestation of the demon's belief began going rampant. It was ready to influence others with its raw power and even to spread the commotion with a wicked concept. If there were any survivors, then they would be corrupted to the core.

That was if only these flames exploded.

"Kyoya! We have to run away!"

"It's fine. I can control these flames now…"

When Josef's worried voice slipped into his ears, Kyoya reassured him with a soft smile as he got the reward to control these flames. He already got rid of the demonic manifestation and began pouring down everything to the volcano's origins. The flames became like water due to this power.

"Husband, you won!"

"Yep! Tell Maria to notify others about our escape. This volcano will be pyromaniacs' coffin."

"Yes, husband!"

Maria was currently on one of the bridges, supporting others with her earth abilities. The other bridge had Xiaoxiao, so Kyoya notified her personally. As for another one, Kyoya asked Josef to run here.

They had to leave this place anyway.

His wife was pleased with the filth getting destroyed, so she hugged her husband while typing on the system's keyboard. Because of her mood, Xaya put some emoticons, which weren't really appropriate in their current situation.

But it was fine as the message got conveyed.

Soon, the party began preparing to retreat.

They couldn't just bluntly escape with the pyromaniacs' fighting them, even more after the pyromaniacs' got influenced by the death of the divine demon. Only Xiaoxiao and Lioe could do it as they were on the winning side!
