I Am A Notorious Hidden Boss In The Alternate World

Chapter 95 - Don't Sweat The Details

"About 25 minutes until the party starts, huh?" Albion mused while rubbing his chin, "Seems like I have two options ahead of me..."

"One, I can quickly go back home, pick up a new car and the invitation card before coming back. Or two, I just rock up to the party without one..."

"Option two definitely sounds a cliche path riddled with troubles I like to avoid, but option one sounds rather tedious considering the venue is quite close from here..."

"Haiz, to think I will be forced to make real-life choices between avoiding cliches and my laziness..." Albion muttered.

After a moment, he shrugged, "Welp, there's no way around it. My mind is telling me to go with option one, but my body...my body is telling me no."

In the end, the body won—like it always has.

Albion stood up and hopped off the rooftop's edge, immediately plunging down from the 50-story building.

<<Flight>>

Swoosh~!

Albion's mental power rippled out, breaking his fall with a soft landing.

Shortly after, he followed the GPS on his phone to the venue under the gaze of a few startled bystanders.

Plop!

The ice-cream fell from its cone, but the boy holding it did not cry as he stared with wide eyes at Albion's leaving back figure in shock.

"Huh? Did that person just jump down from that building? What floor did he jump down from?"

"Strange, he landed so softly it was almost as if he could fly."

As the crowd mumbled, the boy's eyes beamed like he just saw a real-life superhero.

"Superman, come back!"

"Hm?" Albion turned around.

Seeing a snot-nose kid chasing after him with mucus running down the kid's nose, Albion was startled before he legged it like he had grown an extra pair of legs, quickly disappearing from the crowd.

...

Outside of Royal Pearl Club, the entire venue was reserved by the Seymour family.

A long row of esteemed guests already lined up to enter the venue with their invitation cards in hand—as early as half an hour prior to the start of the event.

Seeing the arriving guests lining up at the back, Albion's eyes flickered before making his way over.

Tap.

"Oi, watch where you are going!"

"Ah, so sorry about that," Albion apologized after bumping into an arrogant-looking young man.

"Hmph!"

The young man straightened his coat with a snort before walking, too disdainful to waste his time on Albion.

"Big Brother Handsome, over here!" Xiao Hua waved excitedly beside Xiao Qing.

They wore lovely light-colored dresses of yellow and blue respectively for the occasion.

Albion nodded before making his way over, directly cutting in line to join them.

"You made it, Young Master Albion," Xiao Qing greeted politely.

"We meet again, Miss Qing." Albion nodded and said, "I wouldn't miss out when food is involved, especially if it's free and top-quality."

A disgruntled snort came from behind, but Albion pretended to be deaf and not respond to it.

However, Xiao Qing turned around with an apologetic smile, "You wouldn't mind if my friend cuts in line to join us, right? Little Shitu?"

"I—" Gu Shitu quickly swallowed his words after seeing Xiao Hua's glare before he said stiffly, "Of course not, Big Sister Qing."

"That's good." Xiao Qing smiled.

Sometime later, the group reached the front of the queue before an assisting attendant asked, "Your invitation cards, please."

"Here you go." Xiao Qing handed over two invitation cards belonging to Xiao Hua and her.

"So it is Miss Qing and Miss Hua. Your grandfather arrived much earlier. Please follow this person to be seated." The attendant greeted before she gestured to another attendant after returning their cards.

Shortly after, the female attendant's gaze fell back on Albion, "And yours, sir?"

"He's—" Xiao Qing prepared to say he was her plus one guest.

However, Albion took out an invitation card for his pocket and passed it over, "Here."

Xiao Qing and Xiao Hua were surprised.

'Right, the hilltop mansion was owned by Klein Seymour. It wouldn't make sense if this person was not invited by the Seymour family to their big event,' Xiao Qing thought wryly at her unnecessary intervention.

The attendant glanced at the name on the invitation card before she returned the card with a gesture, "Right this way, Young Master Gu Pisu."

"Huh?" Xiao Qing and Xiao Hua exclaimed softly.

Shortly after, Xiao Hua drew close to Albion and quietly whispered, "I thought your name was…"

"Don't sweat the details." Albion waved his hand nonchalantly.

Xiao Hua and Xiao Qing were filled with doubts. Gu Pisu was the name of…

"Right this way, Miss Qing and Miss Hua."

"Right this way, Young Master Gu Pisu."

Two different attendants spoke to them before Xiao Hua demanded, "I wanted to sit next to this big brother."

"But Miss Hua, there are pre-seating plans arranged for the esteemed guests tonight. If you want to sit together, you have to move to the normal seating area arranged for the plus-one guests." One of the attendants said wryly.

"Un, I will do just that," Xiao Hua nodded before glancing at her sister.

"Go. Just don't cause any trouble. I will sit with grandpa." Xiao Qing waved her hand helplessly.

After a moment, she pulled Xiao Hua close and whispered quietly into her little sister's ears, "Make sure you find out what you can about this person."

Xiao Hua nodded before giving her big sister a cute "OK" gesture.

Shortly after, Xiao Hua hugged Albion's arm and said, "Let's go, big brother."

"Hold on. There you can plus one people without invitation cards, and there's a designated area for them to sit?" Albion asked for confirmation.

"Yeah…" Xiao Hua nodded before asking curiously, "Is that a problem?"

"No problem…" Albion responded before his lips twitched.

The trio was quickly brought inside the venue while the greeting attendant continued to receive the newly arriving guests.

Sometime later, a beautiful young lady and dashing young man pair appeared before the attendant.

"Your invitation cards, please."

"Here."

The beautiful young lady handed over her invitation card shortly while the dashing young man rummaged his pockets.

"Right this way, Miss Meihua."

"Un." Qiu Meihua nodded coolly. She followed the attendant escorting her without waiting for the young man accompanying her.

"Rose, wait for me!" The dashing young man called as he continued to rummage through his pockets, "I swear it's in my pocket somewhere. I remember putting it inside before I left the house!"

"Maybe your pockets have holes or something. We are probably not seated in the same area anyway. There's no need to continue following me, Gu Pisu." Qiu Meihua shrugged nonchalantly before leaving with the attendant.

'Dammit! I've been pursuing you, but you won't even wait for me? I swear I will knock you off high heels one day!' Gu Pisu cussed in his mind before he frowned, 'How could I have lost my invitation card? Did I drop it when I bumped into that nobody?'

"Excuse me, sir…are you Young Master Gu Pisu by any chance?" The attendant asked carefully with doubt.

Gu Pisu looked up and frowned in response, "What about it?"

"N-nothing. This person will escort you to your seat, Young Master Gu Pisu…" The attendant gestured cautiously, afraid of offending the person before her.

Shortly after Gu Pisu left, the attendant quickly rubbed her forehead with distress.

'I'm in trouble! I let someone sneaked in with a stolen invitation card! Should I inform the manager or not?' the female attendant thought nervously.
