I Am A Notorious Hidden Boss In The Alternate World

Chapter 275 - Fleeing The Battle

Silvercove Beach.

Boom, boom…!

As the city dwellers gathered by the beachside with their mobile phones out, the distant Dragon Island rumbled with the noises of battle.

"What is the situation on Dragon City? Why are there battle noises over there?! I thought peacekeeping forces were trying to capture our guardian!?"

"The peacekeeping forces must have failed and angered it instead! Now they have to face its wrath!"

"Hah! Serves them right! That is what they get for trying to control something they should not control!" a young boy jeered.

"But can our city's guardian beat the peacekeeping forces?" a young lady asked with concern before adding, "What if the peacekeeping forces kill our city's guardian?"

"If the peacekeeping forces dare to kill our city's guardian, it will be an all-out war with all of us! Do they even understand the symbolic values that dragons have here?!" an old lady shouted angrily with a clenched fist.

Dragon Island

As the city people gathered to observe from a distance, the peacekeeping forces on the island were doing their best to retreat.

"Quick, back to your ships! Capture operation has failed!" Captain Nikolai barked at the peacekeeping soldiers as he rushed to his ship.

At the same time, the dragon made Captain Nikolai the prime target of its pursuit as it chased after him!

"Ahh! No!"

"Captain! Save me!"

Several peacekeeping soldiers lagging behind Captain Nikolai were quickly caught in the dragon's swoop attacks and had their bodies torn to shreds and blown away by its sharp claws.

Many peacekeeping soldiers escaping in other directions had their faces turned pale with horror as they heard the distant screams.

"Captain, we can't just retreat without retaliating! At this rate, the dragon will wipe out our entire squad!" the informant informed Captain Nikolai after taking a glance behind at the situation.

"We have to fight back!" the informant added.

"No! We cannot fight it!" Captain Nikolai strongly rejected before explaining further, "Our firearms have too much firepower! There's a high chance that we will kill the dragon if we shoot it!"

"Dragons have always been a symbolic figure with significant meaning and values in the south-east Asiana regions, especially when we are talking about Silvercove City, which is based in Draco County!"

When the informant heard that, he immediately rolled his eyes and gazed at Captain Nikolai's back in a ridiculous manner.

'If you knew that much, then why did you make us piss it off?!' the informant screamed in his mind before he drew in a sharp breath.

"If we accidentally kill the dragon, it could mean incurring the hatred of the entire city, or possibly the entire county—not to mention getting condemned by several countries," the informant mentioned with a solemn look.

"Considering the dense population in the south-east Asiana regions, a single county here is almost equal several small to medium countries in other parts of the world! Therefore, the world government will definitely punish us severely to appease the mass!"

Captain Nikolai nodded with a grave look.

He understood that much, which is why they had to avoid fatally harming the dragon. He could have been hailed as a hero if he successfully tamed the dragon, but alas, he failed miserably.

Talking about heavy punishments, getting their ranks stripped before being sent to prison for a few years is already considered on the lighter side of things.

At worse, they could even be executed if people blow the situation out proportions and if the world government was ruthless enough.

But of course, that was all under the assumption that they accidentally kill the dragon.

"Everything will be fine once we make it back to the city and seek refuge in the big buildings with dense crowds of people. The dragon will stop pursuing us then—"

"Ahh! No!"

Another peacekeeping soldier was caught in the dragon's claw attack and had his body maimed to death by the time Captain Nikolai and the others reached their designated ships.

Vroom!

The engine quickly went into full throttle, but Captain Nikolai's ship could not outrun the dragon's speed as it quickly closed in on them.

"Not retaliating is not an option, Captain! The dragon is gaining on us! At this rate, we will all get wiped out!" the informant cried with alarm.

"But…"

"Roar!"

The dragon roar as it came swooping in hot. With its powerful claws, tearing the ship apart would not be a problem.

However, as the other ships start to converge as they retreated towards the shores of Silvercove City, one of the peacekeeping soldier's speedboats came rushing in line behind Captain Nikolai's bigger ship.

"Protect the captain!" the peacekeeping soldier cried.

Bam!

In the next instance, the dragon tail-whipped the speedboat with enormous force and sent it flying out of the waters with a heavy V-shape dent in its side.

Sploosh!

A few moments later, the speedboat land back in the water with a big splash a dew dozen yards away before it capsized and sank.

The fate of all peacekeeping soldiers on board was unknown.

"Captain!" the informant cried as the dragon looped in the air for a second attack.

Captain Nikolai's expression changed before he swiftly made a decisive choice and barked, "Fire! Shoot the dragon, but don't aim for its vitals! Try to scare it away!"

Alas, it was easier said than done when their target is moving and fast on top of that. There was no guarantee where the peacekeeping soldiers would land their shots.

Nevertheless, the peacekeeping soldiers complied with their orders and readily fired with their firearms.

Bang, bang, boom!

The ordinary ammunition rounds failed to penetrate the dragon's hard scales, while the explosive firepower of rocket launchers shattered them!

On top of that, the laser-based weapon directly blew holes right through the dragon's body, causing galloons of red blood to spill out.

Roar!

The dragon immediately roared in pain as it was forced to halt its attack on Captain Nikolai's ship before fleeing into the distance.

"Success!" the peacekeeping soldiers cheered.

However, Captain Nikolai's quickly changed again as he cried, "Not good! The dragon is heading for the city!"
