I Am A Notorious Hidden Boss In The Alternate World

Chapter 209 - Wait For The Package

The five subordinates smiled wryly.

It was difficult enough to get out of the Glacia continent alive when the place has become thriving with otherworldly beast-people.

To leave all their valuable protective equipment behind was simply asking for death, not to mention they were non-combatants—unlike the hunters that left.

"Those hunters who all chose to leave are most likely going to be killed by roaming beast-people. But, even if the beast-people doesn't kill them, the freezing cold will," Francis stated.

"If for some reason the beast-people become merciful, they will still be captured and locked behind another cage—but without their equipment and wealth," Jeffrey sighed.

"Yeah, pledging our allegiance to our lord was the only choice we really had," Sonya added before sneaking a glance at Albion like the others.

It was unknown where fate would lead them to follow such a person. But what is certain is that their fates were in his hands now.

"Don't make it sound like I am such a bad person. You will soon know that the choice you made was the best one you have ever made," Albion stated with a confident grin.

"Roderick, you will continue to manage the stronghold as you did before. However, you can turn to Fenriri and Fenrira, the two wolf-girl princesses before, for assistance. They will help relay your instructions to the wolf-people if needed."

"Yes, my lord," Roderick Patrick complied with a bow before he humbly requested, "My lord, if you don't mind satisfying this subordinate's doubts, there's something this subordinate does not understand."

"Speak freely," Albion gestured coolly.

"Thank you, my lord," Roderick Patrick bowed again before mentioning, "It has only been two days since the Second Wave's Dimensional Rift connecting to the wolf-people's homeworld made its appearance."

"Where did you learn to speak the wolf-people's language so quickly, my lord? Also, the wolf-girls could speak our language so fluently. Does the Apocalypse System have a hidden exchange feature we do not know about?"

"Whether the Apocalypse System has a hidden exchange feature or not, I do not know. But, even if it doesn't, there's a chance it will have in the future," Albion stated coolly.

Shortly after, he said, "However, I can tell you for certain that Fenriri and Fenrira did not learn to speak English through the system, but through me. I taught them myself."

[Actually, Goldfinger can argue that Goldfinger played a part in—]

'Shut up, Goldfinger.'

[Yes, sir.]

Goldfinger silently interjected in Albion's mind before it was quickly shut down by him.

At the same time, Roderick Patrick and the other four subordinates were taken aback by Albion's incredulous claim before he doubted, "How is it even possible to teach someone that quickly?"

"If the Soul Sprites you call systems can do it, so can I. My abilities are well beyond your imagination. Don't question it. Believe it," Albion stated coolly.

"Right. This subordinate apologizes for speaking inappropriately," Roderick Patrick was startled into apologizing before he shortly requested, "This subordinates wonders if my lord is willing to grace this subordinate with thy's divine knowledge."

"You want to be rewarded without earning it?"Albion said before he rejected the request, "If you want something, work for it. I will determine when and whether you are deserving of the reward or any reward for the matter," Albion stated indifferently.

Roderick Patrick was given another startled surprise before he lowered his head and apologized again, "Please forgive this subordinate for being impudent, my lord."

"This subordinate will definitely work hard to earn your blessing!" Roderick Patrick vowed.

Little did he know, Fenriri and Fenrira were imparted with knowledge without any contribution either.

Roderick Patrick would have complained that the lord was being biased.

"Un, good!" Albion nodded and ordered, "Go see the Fenriri and Fenrira and help them settle the wolf-people. Help them familiarized with the stronghold's facilities and its uses."

"Yes, my lord!"

Shortly after Roderick Patrick left, the remaining four subordinates gazed at Albion before Charles asked, "What do you want us to do, my lord?"

"Nothing new. Just go back and do what you do best," Albion casually said before he suddenly added, "However, the wolf-people will be your focus."

"Charles, you will make equipment and weapons for them. You can turn to Fenriri and Fenrira for assistance and have them interpret and translate for you."

"Yes, boss."

"Sonya, you will treat the wolf-people's injuries when needed. Then, if you have time, you can study their body structure—though I do believe they shouldn't defer too much from humans."

"Yes, boss."

"Jeffrey, you won't need me to tell you what you need to do, right? But if you have spare time after your maintenance and repair duties, you can work on a small project for me," Albion said.

"What kind of small project, boss? If I have the ability, I will definitely do it," Jeffrey patted his chest confidently with a proud smile.

"Good. If you can accomplish it, I will give you a handsome reward," Albion stated with a nodded before saying, "The strongholds are not well connected to each other by the looks of it."

"So I want you to design a new mode of transport to connect the stronghold and have it built for me."

As Jeffrey listened, his confident smile slowly faded before his lips twitched.

There were numerous strongholds on the Glacia continent, and each one was separated from the other by at least 100kms.

How was this a small project? It was more like a colossal project!

Nevertheless, Jeffrey patted his chest again and nodded, "I'll see what I can do, boss."

"Don't worry. I will ask someone to provide all the material and labor force to assist you with the project," Albion stated calmly.

"I don't want to doubt you, boss. But the amount of material and labor force needed for the project will not be small. It won't be easy to procure such exceedingly large quantities of mineral…"

"You don't need to worry about this," Albion raised his hand and stated coolly, "You just need to wait for the package. Also, consider it a sort of test to gauge your ability. If you can't do it, I will find someone else who can."

Shortly after, Albion made a call and had the person on the other side of the call complete all the arrangements for the project.
