I Am A Notorious Hidden Boss In The Alternate World

Chapter 189 - Iceborn Wolf Tribe's High Mortality Rate

Silvercove Beach, Eastern Allure Casino House

Boom, boom, boom!

Explosions went off in one area, shattered wood and stones flew in another, the auction room was filled with the chaos of battle.

The gasmasks of fallen hunters from the Abestel family were taken and worn by the hunters of other families.

Still, the already infected cannot be cured of their poisoning without the antidote.

"Cough!"

A hunter coughed a mouthful of blood before finally succumbing to the nasty effects of the poison as his body plopped on the ground with a thud and drew his last breath!

"Joshua!"

A hunter cried in mourning before cursing, "Dammit! What a vicious poison! The longer we fight, the stronger the poison becomes—until it finally overwhelms us!"

"Insidious bastards! I want your life!" Another hunter roared.

Gushing Wind Slash!

Blizzard Shower!

Blades of winds lacerated the clothes of one person while sharp icicles barraged the body of another, riddling it with holes.

But even if they took mortal blows, they did not go down without driving one last stab into their opponents with their swords and take them down with them.

The exhaustion of battle took its toll on both sides.

Defenses dropped, and the rate of death increased with each spray of blood, turning the auction room into a scene of carnage.

Amidst the chaos, no one noticed if an Abestel family's hunter or two disappeared from their ranks or not as Albion nicked one with each hand and dragged them onto the broken rooftop above like a swift-moving shadow.

Thud!

Albion hurled the Abestel family's hunter to the feet of Fenrira and Fenriri after disarming their weapons before passing the two swords to the wolf-girls.

"Kill them," Albion uttered indifferently.

Fenrira and Fenriri glanced at each other before they nodded decisively, "Yes, Master!"

Puchi! Puchi!"

The two wolf-girl stabbed their swords in the two hunters from the Abestel family and reaped their lives in gruesome manners as blood splattered everywhere.

It was clear that they held a lot of resentment for the Abestel family, but at the same time, inexperienced in the usage of the sword.

Ding!

<You have killed a Lv.21 Male Human (Elite)>

<You have gained 2140 EXP>

<You have leveled up>

<You have become a Hunter>

<You have leveled up>

<You have leveled up>

<You have become a Lv.11 Hunter>

<Hunter Level: 11 – 140/1000 EXP (14% Progress)>

Strings of notifications went off in their minds before the wolf-girls paid no attention to them, only focusing on maiming the hunters' corpses into bloody messes.

"Enough. They're already dead," Albion said with a frown before adding, "You two have no finesse in killing, though I don't blame either of you. You two must hold some resentment in your heart, and releasing it on their bodies does make you feel better."

"Nevertheless, they are already dead, and any additional damage you inflict will only be wasted energy. Keep it clean next time," Albion said.

"Yes, Master!" The two wolf-girls complied obediently.

Shortly after, Albion gazed at their awkward holding of the sword before asking, "You two have never held a sword before, right? What do you usually use to fight your opponents?"

"We use this, Master," Fenrira showed her hands.

In the next moment, frigid mists exuded from them before her hands transformed into a pair of ice claws.

"Oh?" Albion softly exclaimed.

He had sensed the manipulation of spiritual energy—or Life Aura by the wolf-girl's terminology, in the formation of their ice claws.

"Are all your wolf-people capable of manipulating Life Aura to this degree?" Albion asked with interest.

They were like cultivators.

"No, Master. Life Aura might be ever-present around us, but it is something we have to practice before we can use them freely," Fenrira explained.

"Right, Life Aura can strengthen our bodies and keep us warm. It is fundamental for all children to begin their training as soon as possible since one in two newborn babies die during birth and a further one in four deaths in the first five years due to the cold," Fenriri added.

"Your people had it rough, huh?"

With such a high death rate, it was no wonder that the Iceborn Wolf Tribe would need to mate a lot to keep their population from dwindling.

"Must be easy to find a partner, though…" Albion softly muttered.

For some reason, he would not have minded being born as a regular wolf-person in the Iceborn Wolf Tribe despite the harsh environmental conditions.

"Master…?"

Fenrira and Fenriri looked at him with doubt.

"Ahem, never mind that," Albion coughed before changing the topic with a serious question, "Did you two hear any notification in your head after your first human killing?"

"Come to think of it… I think there was something like that…?" Fenrira recalled with a bit of uncertainty.

After a bit of flexing, they were surprised by their newfound strength.

At the same time, Albion's suspicion was confirmed.

The Apocalypse System's benefits were not limited to the denizens of Earth but applied to all foreign races as well.

'It does not matter who the system binds as long as there is EXP to be gained out of it, huh?' Albion mused.

In the end, what mattered to the system was its own growth and evolution.

"Master, this is incredible…! I've become so strong from killing a single human!" Fenrira exclaimed before asking carefully, "Is it fine for us to kill a few more?"

"Naturally. You can kill all the Abestel family's hunters for all I care. I do not restrict the growth of my subordinates," Albion said coolly while giving the wolf-girl a casual glance.

Shortly after observing the battle below, Albion added, "The hunters from both sides are mostly exhausted from their intense battle. Now is the prime time to kill the Abestel family and reap the benefits."

"I will not help you this time. Go! Take your revenge, but be mindful of the poison mist!" Albion warned.

"Yes, Master!"

Fenrira immediately dived into the auction room from the broken rooftop with an excited gaze before Albion shifted his gaze to Fenriri, "Why didn't you go?"

"My sister will be fine on her own, and it'll be better if she reaps all the benefits," Fenriri stated before furrowing her brows.

"My uncle… He was the first to lead the charge on Earth… if he discovered the benefit of the system then…"
