I Am A Notorious Hidden Boss In The Alternate World

Chapter 187 - The Luxurious Cruiser-Class Starship

Estelle Xiao and the two boys, Armin and Shuren, quickly entered the building and took the elevator to the top floor.

However, when they arrived on the rooftop, the people were no longer there.

"Big Sister, there's no one here," Shuren furrowed his brows as he looked around before asking, "Are you sure that you weren't seeing things before?"

"That's impossible. I clearly saw Wuxin just a few minutes ago!" Estelle Xiao frowned.

After a moment, she noticed the cracks by the edge of the rooftop before she said, "Wuxin was clearly here, but now, she is gone."

"But we came up and didn't see anyone. So where could she have gone?" Armin asked with doubt.

In the next moment, everyone was given a fright as Shuren asks, "Wuxin didn't… fall off the edge, did she?"

Estelle Xiao rushed to the edge and glanced down before finding nothing at the foot of the building.

"That scared me. Thank god nothing happened to Wuxin," Estelle Xiao heaved a sigh of relief before she suddenly frowned, "Where could she have gone from here?"

"Hm?"

She quickly realized the rooftop gave her a good vantage point to observe the ongoing battle in the area below.

"Where is she?" She frowned before locking onto a group and muttering, "Those people are… the Bloodmoon Gang?"

"Mr. Reiner, we have nowhere to retreat! We are completely surrounded by the top family's hunters, and then there's that goddamn sniper waiting outside!" A thug reported.

"Hold them off and buy me some time!" Mr. Reiner ordered before flipping out his phone and called, "Boss Benedict, the operation failed! A third force has disrupted our plans!"

"Right now, all three teams have been locked in battle with the top families, and we request urgent backup to retreat!"

[Understood.]

The person spoke.

Stillwater city, Moonshine Villa

Beep.

The person called Boss Benedict ended the call while sitting on his balcony couch before rubbing his forehead with a deep frown.

"Nothing has been going according to plan these days," Boss Benedict sighed.

Shortly after, he turned to the subordinates standing behind the couch before asking, "How many strong fighters do we still have?"

"If we are looking at fighters who can stand toe-to-toe with the top family's hunters, then we only have the Lion King left, Boss Benedict," the subordinate stated.

"Send him over to Silvercove city," Boss Benedict nodded before saying, "We can lose anyone, but not Reiner and the Kings."

"Yes, boss!"

"Wait."

Boss Benedict suddenly stopped the subordinate from leaving before the subordinate turned back and asked, "Is there anything else, boss?

"What is the Wolf King doing? Send him too," Boss Benedict said.

"The Wolf King is… let me check, boss," the subordinate responded. Then, after making a quick inquiry from the men below him, the subordinate hesitated, "The Wolf King is…"

"What about the Wolf King? Stop wasting time and just say it," Boss Benedict urged with a frown.

"Yes, boss!" the subordinate complied and answered, "The Wolf King, Ligma Bawles, is getting his nails done at a beauty salon in Silvercove city's central district…"

"…What did you just say?" Boss Benedict's expression darkened as if he had just heard a big joke.

Why the f*ck does an old man like Ligma Bawles need his nails done? It does not make sense!

However, the subordinate quickly affirmed as reported to him, "It's true, boss. My men have confirmed that the Wolf King is doing his nails at a beauty salon."

"Argh, forget it. Just notify the Wolf King of the situation and tell him to assist the Lion King in the rescue," Boss Benedict stated.

"Yes, boss!"

Shortly after the subordinate left, leaving Boss Benedict on the balcony alone, he slumped on the couch and rubbed his forehead with distress.

After a moment, he took out his private phone to check his old text messages from his wife.

<When are you coming home, dear? The family is gathering for an important meeting>

<I won't make it. Start without me>

<Father-in-law has revealed the topic of the discussion. We have been invited to Damocles. However, there are only five allocations>

<Oh? That's good. It'll be good if you all go, but it is also fine as long as Darien attends>

<Dear, are you really not coming? Could the underground mining business you've been expanding be more important than a rare opportunity to get close to Emperor Polemos and other distinguishable families under the emperor?>

<It is. Just leave it at that>

After rereading messages, Boss Benedict put away the phone and entered silent contemplation briefly before standing up with a firm look.

"Grab my coat. We are leaving," he stated.

"Yes, boss!"

The remaining subordinates inside the villa gathered before one of them asked, "Where are we going, boss?"

"Blackshore Caverns."

"Understood."

Silvercove city

The transport spaceship, the Cruiser-class starship, eventually took off promptly after all its passengers boarded—of which were no more than 25 people from the city.

Despite that, the Cruiser-class starship had a capacity that could accommodate a thousand people while providing all the necessary facilities and entertainment to its guests like one would find on a luxurious cruise trip.

And this was just one of many ships under Emperor Polemos.

One could hardly begin to fathom just precisely how wealthy the emperor was. Perhaps, his wealth was enough to even buy several small countries on Earth!

Nevertheless, none of those countries could compare to owning a whole planet like Mars.

"Woah, this is amazing! Sister, come look! This view is incredible! Ah! There are also other spaceships behind us!" Xiao Hua exclaimed while gazing out the window.

Xiao Qing smiled wryly before turning to her parents, "Mom, Dad, I'll go look after Xiao Hua, lest she causes trouble."

"Un, go!" Xiao Pipi nodded.

Shortly after Xiao Qing, Xiao Pipi returned his attention to the interaction between his father and the Old Master of the Seymour family, David Seymour.

"Hah, I knew I would also find you here, Old Seymour."

"Likewise, likewise… Old Xiao."

The two old men shook hands firmly and patted each other's shoulders in a friendly manner like they were old pals, but in truth, they were studying each other's strengths.

"Ohohoho, you have gotten quite strong, Old Seymour," Old Xiao praised before he said jokingly with passive-aggressiveness, "Hahaha, hurry up and die already, you old bastard."
