8″Zack…” The Moon god muttered in a distasteful tone as Zack stood in front of Emma.

He broke the restraints on her hands with a swing of his sword and helped her stand up. His eyes were glowing with power as he held his sword tightly and stared at the Moon Emperor.

“I thought that after what I had done in the past, you would have changed and would have started treating those around you better. But I guess people like you can never change.” Zack muttered as Lance suddenly separated from his body.

The Phoenix spread its wings with full glory and bathed the people inside the throne room with a blinding blue light.

The Vampires present in the room had been able to survive the sun for many years but something as bright as Lance was too much for them to handle.

A popping sound resounded throughout the entire room as two vampires suddenly turned to dust and Lance turned his eyes directly towards the Moon God.

His name was unknown to both him and Zack and over the years, they had come to name him as Emma’s biological father.

But he hadn’t done anything to make the life of his daughter easier or comfortable and had given her indirect torture at every single moment possible.

“How are you alive again?” The Moon God asked in a low tone as the remaining people in the room gathered in front of him as a shield.

Zack and Lance stood their guard as they glared at the moon god. Their auras suddenly expanded and spread throughout the room as Zack replied to his question.

“I never died.” His flames suddenly went wild and spread throughout the room. They danced all around and destroyed the floor before advancing towards the leaders of the various races.

Lance on the other hand went towards the lifts leading to the top floor and used his flames to completely destroy them.

He then turned towards Emma and floated above her before dropping a few drops of his tears on her. Lance had always been able to control his tears to some extent and the ability had come in clutch numerous times.

All the wounds of Emma’s body suddenly started closing before soon enough, she had completely healed.

[0)ᴠᴇʟ “Thank you, Lance…” Emma said ion a dazed tone while staring at Zack.

She had been expecting her doom to get closer but the sudden appearance of Lance and Zack had left her shocked. She had been trying to break free for more than a day but all of her efforts had been useless.

The earrings of the Moon goddess that she had taken from the Hall of Moon hadn’t done anything to help her either.

But despite that, she had never resigned herself to whatever that awaited her.

‘And its a good thing that I have always been like that…’ Emma thought as she remembered that if she hadn’t ran away in the past, she would have never met Zack.

Happy at this thought, she took a deep breath before summoning her bow and pointing it at the closest leader she could see.

A silver arrow suddenly appeared in her bow, the color reflecting the glow of the stars. It was something that she had picked up from the Hall of Moon as well but Emma had no idea what the arrow could do.

She just released it and saw the arrow flying forward just like any other arrow. Her perfect archery skills also allowed her to hit the enemy without fail but the moment the arrow embedded itself in the head of one of the leaders, everything went down.

The silver arrow exploded into a silver pillar of light much brighter than what Lance had created.

Screams suddenly rose around the throne room as all of the leaders turned into white balls of light which were their souls.

Zack, Lance, the Moon God and Emma herself were left shocked by this as the white balls of light hovered in place.

Emma also felt the silver arrow returning back to her but she didn’t say anything and just stared at the souls of the leaders.

“Looks like that bow was all I had been missing to use the two arrows in the hall. I should have figured that out from the moment you were first chosen by the bow.” The Moon god muttered as he waved his hand all over the souls that hung around the place.

He called them towards him before consuming them one by one. The trio realized what he was doing and before it was too late, Lance also swooped three souls in their direction.

He threw one soul at Emma and one at Zack before consuming the last one himself. The other two did the same as their bodies suddenly swelled up by the intake of souls.

The Moon god on the other hand also had a similar effect but where the trio could only consume one soul each, he was able to consume all the remaining souls.

“So if I kill all of you know, I can get the bow, the earrings and the two special arrows from Emma. The sword and that spear Chastiefol from Zack and a pet Phoenix.” The Moon god muttered while looking at the trio.

Neither of them spoke anything as they knew that the chances of that happening were very high.

Zack had originally been planning to just take Emma and leave the moon palace with a warning given to the Moon God.

But he now realized that if either of them left now, there chances of winning a war with the heavens would be very less.

The Moon god was much stronger than the past and though the souls didn’t give him that big of a boost, they still changed a few things.

Both Zack and Emma knew that even if they hadn’t done anything, the Moon god would have taken the souls of the leaders anyways to use in the future.

They had just made the future appear earlier but now, they were met face to face with the god they would have fought in the future.

“Though I know that the chances of us winning are very less, I will say that we are going to give our best. And if we can remove a scum in the process, let’s do it.”
