Hikari: Rise Of The Weapons Master

128 Zack Versus The Dead Skulls [Part 1]

“Tell me that was part of your plan…” Emma muttered as the two of them appeared inside a small jail cell.

There were iron cell bars in front of them, each of them embedded with runes. The moment they would touch the iron bar, a shock would pass through their bodies, thus stunning them.

Zack had been inside the same prison once as Ash had traded him for a treasure that he had bought from the same old lady.

He had to stay in the same jail room for ten days during which, he had stayed in the real world. Now, he was back in the same place but with a different goal.

“Yes, I had planned to buy something from the old woman and not pay the money. Though I had never expected to get the items at such a cheap price.” Zack replied honestly as he looked around the cell.

The cell was barely big enough to fit a double bed and a toilet. This was the place where people who didn’t pay the money or had fights stayed.

The black market was strict about its rule and the same rules applied to all those who decided to enter it.

Currently, Zack was looking at the bars before raising his right hand and flickering a spark of his blue flames at the bars.

Emma’s jaw unhinged as she saw the bars melt easily. Never could she have expected that breaking out of prisons was going to be this easy.

Zack then stepped out of the cell with a glance at Emma. He then raised his index finger to his lips and did the shush gesture.

She too stepped out of the cell and looked around while expecting to see other cells. However, all that awaited her was a small space the same size as the cell and a door in the middle of the space.

The reason why spending time in the cell was a nightmare was due to the loneliness. All prisoners were held in separate cells in a prison run solely on magic.

According to the king of the underworld in Zack’s previous life, the market had a prison comprising of a million or more cells. Even he didn’t know how many cells were there in the prison.

[ As long as we don’t talk and keep the handcuffs on, we will be safe. ]

[ How do you know that? ]

[ Simple, I don’t. ]

Zack replied jokingly as he threw another spark of blue flames at the door and burned it. The duo stepped forward to enter an elevator of sorts.

It had enough space to fit at least a hundred people at once. However, the truly amazing and shocking part were the number of buttons that were present in the elevator.

The number went from 1 to ten with a special prison button. Currently, the number displayed beside the prison button was two thousand.

This meant that Zack and Emma were the two people to enter the two-thousandth cell in the prison. If Zack was to tap the screen beside the prison button, he would be able to enter a custom number that he wanted to visit.

However, he tapped the button with the number one written on it before he stepped back and saw two iron doors closing in front of him.

The first floor was where the ruler of the underworld as well as the black market lived.

[ This feels way too easy… ] Emma muttered beside Zack as the pink-haired girl had an uneasy feeling about the place.

[0)ᴠᴇʟ Zack didn’t reply as he too shared the same feeling as her. He had never infiltrated the prison in his previous life since there was no need for him to meddle with the ruler of the underworld.

The reason he had been able to burn the bars was simply because of the blue flames burning property. Otherwise, he was ready to spend a day inside the cell while wondering who the woman actually was.

‘She didn’t even give me a second look last time.’ Zack thought before he heard a clicking sound. The elevator suddenly came to a halt as the metal doors started sliding apart.

[ Never thought I would see such modern technology in a medieval-style world… ]

[I guess that Hayden created this himself to make things easier. ] Before Zack could explain further, the duo found themselves staring at some sort of lobby.

The entire place was half the size of a soccer stadium with chairs and sofas placed on both sides. Overall, the place resembled a waiting room. A black door with a knob was visible at the far end of the lobby.

The main attraction, however, were the five bulky men standing in the middle of the lobby. All of them were dressed in a loose set of clothes and had their heads shaved.

Tattoos ran on both sides of their arms while their lips were curled up into smirks. The five bulky men then started cracking their knuckles as their gaze fell on the duo.

“And that is why nothing is as easy as it appears.” Zack sighed audibly as he summoned Chastiefol and stepped out of the lobby.

It was clear at a first glance that the five men were stronger than Zack and could easily beat him to a pulp. Yet, he had a smile on his face.

The reason?

[ A conflict between prisoners has been detected. Five of the seven prisoners have been detected as rule enforcers. The battle can proceed. ]

The prison had a fair rule. All conflicts could be resolved verbally or physically where the latter cost money or something precious as a charge.

There was one way to avoid that charge and that was to become a rule enforced in the prison and maintain the discipline. Rarely anyone fought the enforcers as they always ganged up on people.

“This place is fairer than real life,” Zack said as his lips curled up into a smile.

Currently, all his stats were on the same level as the five bulky men in front of him. That was why Zack had been mostly carefree as he knew that his chances of winning were extremely high as long as he was at the same level as his opponents.

He knew that the five bulky men were definitely acting as bodyguards to Hayden who was present beyond the black door.

“Gareth, do you want to take him or do I leave him to Longanus?” The man standing in the middle of the group asked. He was the only one wearing a black jacket while the other four were wearing blue jackets.

Zack’s instincts were screaming biggest id- boss to him.

“Don’t worry, I will handle this skinny rule breaker boss,” Gareth replied while cracking his knuckles and stepping forward.

Though the golden spear floating around Zack looked a bit intermediating, Gareth didn’t look worried. He had his friends helping him and had many trump cards up his sleeves.

If things went too out of control, his boss would bring the rest of the gang in order to subdue Zack.

“Come here you little motherfcker. It’s about time I, your daddy, taught you a lesson.” Gareth said while flashing a smile before he took out an axe from his back.

Zack’s face started twitching when he heard the words coming out of Gareth’s mouth. At that moment, the man was dead in his eyes.
