Hikari: Rise Of The Weapons Master

108 Honeycomb Maze [Part 1]

Zack and Emma patiently waited for their turns but it was clear that it was going to take some time due to the enormous amount of players.

Many players started logging out and their avatars vanished from the hall.

Johnny was looking at this from the overhead stage as a smile appeared on his face. None of the players knew that logging out actually meant that they wouldn’t be able to play the event again.

He had been specifically instructed to not reveal this information since it would make the event progress faster.

[ Zack, do you have any idea idea how we can survive? ] Emma asked curiously while looking around the crowd.

[ This time, we are enemies Emma. Let’s just go and do what we can. ] Zack replied with a smile as the pink-haired woman smiled back.

Due to ability to sense their guild members, Emma and Zack could also tell that Lisa and the three guards were also taking part in the event.

As for Marcus and Jack, both of them were probably busy in conducting an alchemy experiment.

‘I can’t sense Neji either. I thought that he would have participated in this event.’

Soon enough, Zack started getting bored because of the waiting.

So to entertain himself, he decided to summon Daedalus and Icarus.

Due to the contract he had created, he could summon the beasts to almost any location except where they were restricted.

As soon as he clicked on the summon beats option, a game notification appeared in front Johnny.

[ Allow contracted beasts ‘Daedalus’ and ‘Icarus’ to enter the hall? ]

Johnny’s lips curled up when he saw who the owners of the two beasts were.

Since the players were getting bored, letting the two eagles in would provide some good entertainment.

Currently, Johnny was also the moderator for the event which meant that he could make certain decisions.

So to liven up the atmosphere, he chose yes.

Suddenly, two giant eagles the size of two trucks combined dived down from the ceiling.

The players started running around in panic and a huge space appeared beside Emma and Zack.

Daedalus and Icarus landed on the floor beside the duo. Zack and Emma patted the two eagles heads before looking at the reactions of the players.

[ I think you just made us even less liked. ] Emma commented after seeing the expressions on the players faces.

[ Well, it’s better to display our strength then just standing idea and letting them believe whatever they want. ]

The duo then climbed on their eagle’s back and laid there.

After what felt like hours, pillar of light suddenly appeared around Zack as he climbed down Daedalus’s back.

‘Looks like my time has finally arrived.’ A few seconds later, Zack was teleported inside the maze.

In front of him were twenty feet high walls made from a black metal. Beside him stood ten players with varying expressions.

“Are you the number one player?” One of them asked curiously while looking at Zack’s plain clothes.

Though he was a count of the kingdom, Zack liked to dress in plain trousers and shirt. If not for the aura around him, no one would have believed that he was a count.

“Yes, I am the number one player. Any more questions will not be answered.” He replied before walking towards the entrance of the maze.

As soon as he stepped a foot forward, the world around his started spinning.

Zack was then teleported to a dark corner of the maze where he was covered from three sides.

‘Guess I should start moving.’ In the darkness of the maze, it was extremely hard to see more than a few feet ahead.

A fog covered the entire place making it even more mysterious. The walls seemed to loom everywhere as Zack started making his way through the maze.

In less than a minute, he appeared in front of three doors leading in three different directions.

“Eene, Menee, Miney, MO…” After carefully choosing a door, Zack decided to continue forward.

After pushing through the front door, Zack started running since the timer was ticking by.

Suddenly, the sound of someone running entered his ears.

‘A hunter?” Zack’s heartbeat started to increase as he fastened up his speed.

Multiple doors appeared in his way and he chose them randomly. Suddenly, instead of solid ground, a lake of water awaited him in front of a door.

‘Fk!’ He almost fell into a lake but managed to shift his balance in time.

After returning his steps, Zack heard two more running sounds around him.

‘I guess this challenge is based on luck and stamina.’ After running around for a few minutes, Zack appeared in front of two golden doors.

One went to the right side while the other went to the left side.

He immediately realized that only one of them was the correct door. As for which one it was, there was no clue given for it.

‘Here goes nothing.’ After taking a deep breath, Zack turned towards the right door and dashed forward.

Instead of dropping in a lake of water, Zack appeared in a slightly opened space where a blue ball was hovering in the air.

[0)ᴠᴇʟ Without thinking, he went ahead and touched the ball with his right hand.

A pillar of light appeared around him once again and teleported him out of the open space.

[ Congratulations on clearing the first round. You will now be placed in the waiting room for the second round until all the players have attempted the first round. ]

After reading the message, Zack released a sigh of relief.

‘Looks like I will be waiting again.’

‘So he managed to clear the round solely based on luck huh.’

As soon as Zack had cleared the round, he had sent a private message to Emma. The latter wondered whether the same thing would happen to her.

But considering Zack’s luck and her luck, Emma was sure that she was about to be chased from all sides.

‘Well, that’s the worst thing that could happen.’ Emma thought with a sigh before a pillar of light emerged around her.

Alongside her, the two eagles also vanished and whispers started to run around the entire room.
