HEX: Aspect Of The Void

Chapter 77 - Nostalgia Of A Primordial

"No! Come on... They should have three hands. The right, the left and the back hand. That'll ensure the most balance in the new project. Don't you think so too, big brother?" Gilga, at a time, said during one of the many times my siblings argued about something, directing his questions to me to be the judge in a matter that clearly wasn't any of my concern.

"Well... I don't really..." I responded hesitantly.

"Come on, big bro Hexarion. This joker can't be serious. They'll look too weird, right? Having just two hands will be enough. They should also have two legs. That'll make them ordinary. Isn't that the main theme of the project?" Avalon quickly cut in with her soft and sonorous voice.

"Ah, come on! Why is all this so important anyways? Can't you just make them have one hand and one leg? Why make things needlessly complicated?!" Sol butt in energetically.

"One of each?! This is why no one asks for your contributions Sol, if we took any of your ideas, every of our projects will end up being shapeless and useless blobs." Gilga commented with a snicker.

"H-Hey! That's not fair. Big bro, Gilga is picking on me again!" Sol said, flaring up.

The room began to get hot due to the heat Sol emitted and everywhere around the Palace of Primordials began to melt off. The gods who enjoyed their time in the heavenly realm felt this sudden change and felt sweat coming out of their body.

"Oh no... Lord Sol is upset again!" They exclaimed.

Sol gritted his teeth in the palace and boiled with childish annoyance when suddenly I held onto his shoulder and calmed him down.

"Don't mind Gilga. He's just jealous of your simple ideas. He makes things too needlessly complicated" I smirked.

"Really?" Sol asked me innocently.

"Yeah, your big bro is always right after all!" I smiled with a wink.

"Ah, come on... Why is Big bro always taking Sol's side. We can all tell that his ideas are too simple. I mean, the last time we decided to go through with one of his so called 'unique' ideas, we ended up with slimes! Slimes! And now look at them, the weakest and most useless existence in the entire universe. So needlessly simple, and look how it ends up!" Gilga responded with my words as he whined.

"H-Hey! What's so wrong with Slimes?" Sol protested with an emotional tone.

He was very sensitive when it came to the subject of his most prized creature in all of existence, whose designs were based off of his idea.

"Slimes simply the best!" He added, looking at my face.

"Right? Big brother Hexarion?"

I smiled at him warmly, and patted his head as he blushed with a childish giggle.

"Of course Sol, they're the best if you say they are" I said.

"See? Big bro says they are! Serves you right Gilga!" Sol said, jeering and taunting Gilga, who looked upset and jealous of my special treatment of Sol.

"N-No fair! It's always Sol..." Gilga mumbled shyly.

I could tell he was upset.

"Why don't you tell your brother Leviathan your great new idea?" I told Sol.

Sol smiled as he nodded his head excitedly and bounced out of the room.

"Second Big Brother Leviathan...."

His voice trailed off as he left the Primordial Palace Lounge, where we were staying at the time.

"Don't you think you're too soft on him, Big Brother Hexarion? He'll never grow if you keep encouraging his childish behavior. He's nearly a million years old and he's still acting like that." Avalon said to me with a tired smile.

"Ah, that's true... But I also feel this version of him is best. You both felt it just now, didn't you? How his emotions changed everything within this relam. With such a great Aspect, it's best if he retains his childish and optimistic personality... At least until he can be fully responsible for the Aspect he carries." I told them.

Aurora and Gilga nodded, realising the gravity of the words I spoke. I turned to Gilga, who still seemed upset with how well I treated Sol.

"I see you're upset Gilga. You think I'm playing favorites, don't you?" I said, drawing closer to him.

"W-Well, aren't you? You always praise whatever stupid ideas he brings up. We all know those slimes are very useless. If not for my few tweaks on them, they would have been far worse!" Gilga said in a sulking tone.

I smiled softly when I heard this.

"You see... Gilga, whenever Sol brings up any of his overly simple idea, even when we implement it, we use your power to do so. Without you creating them, those ideas are nonexistent. So, Gilga... I think you are more amazing." I said to him.

Gilga looked at me with awe and surprise as I said those words to him.

"That's why, whenever I praise Sol, I praise you too. Those slimes he is so proud of... Are the works of your creation. So when I say they are the best, it is because despite being such an abstract and absolutely simple idea, you brought them out to be the best they could possibly be, Gilga." I added.

Gilga looked away as he blushed due to my words. He was obviously very happy by what I was saying, but tried to hide it.

"So, Gilga... You and Sol don't need to fight about these things anymore. His overly simple nature, and your complicated methods, they work hand in hand... Don't forget that, okay?" I said to him with a soft smile.

He slowly turned to look at me as he looked shy and happy at the same time.

"So, you're saying I should also value his input in any project we make?" Gilga asked me.

"Don't you think... Sometimes, what makes something so beautiful is it's simplicity. But at the same time, simplicity without any form of concrete substance is nothing. Therefore, only when the both of you acknowledge one another and work hand in hand will you be able to bring forth the best of your abilities and create the perfect masterpiece... Gilga" I told him, gazing into his eyes.

He considered my words and fell silent for a few seconds before finally looking back into my eyes.

"M-Maybe... Maybe I should also consider his idea in this new project. If I consider how I want three limbs for them, and he wants one... By cross-referencing them we have... Two! Two limbs each, that's it!" Gilga exclaimed.

"That's what I've been saying all along" Avalon retorted.

"Oh shut up! I've finally gotten it! Thanks Big bro! I feel... This will be my finest masterpeice yet!" Gilga let out a genuine laugh.

"Yeah! I can't wait to see it" I said to him.

"I'm thinking of calling them... Humans. What do you think, Big bro?" He asked me.

I smiled at the name. It was so simple, compared to the names he usually gave his creations. Dinosaurs, Dragons, Pheonix Centaurs, Minataurs, Lebanon. Compared to those exquisite and glamorous names, 'Humans' sounded a little too simple and bland.

But...

"It's perfect" I said to him.

He smiled even more as he felt much better.

Just like that, one conflict was resolved, and just as I thought it was all over, another sprung up from it.

How many eyes the new project should have, how many fingers and toes, their size, their diet... The list never ended, and so the project was pushed back several millennia before the first prototype was made, and then the second and then the third...

But, those moments, those times of conflict and resolution, of arguments and enjoyment. The early days of our existence. Memories of those times are still burned into my head. However, that's all they are now... Memories.

All that is left from those memories, the only concrete thing left... Is my resolve.

The resolve to end everything and everyone, including the ones called my siblings.

"Sol, Gilga, the rest of you guys... Just wait for me a little longer. Your big brother is coming back. And when he returns... When I return, I'll teach all of you a lesson you'll definitely never forget.... Until your last breath."
