Hello Mr. King

Chapter 312 - Something’s Off

Chapter 312: Something’s Off

And she made the right bet.

Someone who could resonate with you on the first meeting would leave a lasting impression.

“I have a hunch that this won’t be the last time you see each other.” He Wei was feeling proud.

Yun Xiangxiang could always bring him surprises. He made the correct decision when he took Yun Xiangxiang under his wing.

“I’m not in a hurry; I’m still young!” Yun Xiangxiang wasn’t rushing it, as she was just eighteen.

Even if Joseph didn’t call her up when she was twenty-eight, she wouldn’t panic. She trusted that she could go to the peak by herself.

Yun Xiangxiang then went on to work on completing “First Love”‘s filming. At the end of August’s first week, Yun Xiangxiang managed to wrap up everything.

The selection for “Flying Sky” would be on the twentieth of August. Yun Xiangxiang had ample time for that, so she immediately went back to Paris to speak with CX perfume and SL handbag.

As she had left the crew, her following itinerary was unrelated to them. They wouldn’t arrange any accommodation for her.

Yun Xiangxiang went to Qi Jun’s winery, and her friends were there. Li Xiangling and Song Meng had been picking the grapes for ten days; they knew how to pick them well now.

As more of the enormous amount of grapes started to ripen, the vineyard hired more workers. This was Yun Xiangxiang’s first time having grapes in a vineyard.

“It’s better if it’s chilled…” Yun Xiangxiang couldn’t forget her chilled fruits.

“Was that glass of wine not enough?” Song Qian looked at her, feeling mildly annoyed.

Yun Xiangxiang was making herself look like a pitiful little girl.

“It’s not enough; I haven’t had the taste of it.” Yun Xiangxiang smacked her lips.

“The young master will return in five days. You can ask him to let you have a taste.” Song Qian smiled.

Yun Xiangxiang threw a grape at her unhappily and snorted. She saw young master Qi—who came back from the vineyard—being busy as a bee, as he took care of Li Xiangling and Song Meng…

She beckoned Song Qian over. “Qianqian, do you think young master Qi looks different today?”

“Different how?” Song Qian looked at Qi Jun. He was wearing a light yellow shirt and cropped trousers today. “He doesn’t look like a peacock today…”

Song Qian knew more about Qi Jun than Yun Xiangxiang did; she knew Qi Jun when she was following Song Mian around when they were kids. Qi Jun had always been more beautiful than handsome.

Qi Jun’s mother wanted a daughter. They said she dressed Qi Jun up as a girl before he was three.

Song Qian thought Qi Jun loved dresses…

Qi Jun had always loved to dress up flamboyantly. It was rare for him to look normal today, but that silly grin ruined it.

Song Qian suddenly understood what was happening. “He doesn’t look like a peacock, but he does look like a dog in heat…”

Yun Xiangxiang choked on her grape when Song Qian said that. She coughed violently and glared at Song Qian.

“I’m not an educated person, so I shoot straight.” Song Qian shrugged; she didn’t think that was a big deal.

“But you are raised by a big family.” He Wei handed Yun Xiangxiang a glass of water. Even he thought Song Qian was a bit explicit.

It would be okay if it were only her and Yun Xiangxiang since they were both girls. But Song Qian didn’t even care when He Wei—a guy—was here.

“That’s partially true. I am a servant raised by a big family. Servants tend to be more vulgar.” Song Qian popped a lollipop into her mouth, thinking that nobody could stop her from being like this.

He Wei shook his head and stopped arguing with Song Qian.

Yun Xiangxiang put down her glass of water and held her cheeks as she looked at Qi Jun coursing between Li Xiangling and Song Meng. “So why is he in heat?”

He Wei spat his drink in shock.

Yun Xiangxiang realized that she said what Song Qian told without thinking since that was the only thing swirling in her mind as she was lost in her thoughts. She quickly handed He Wei a tissue and smiled awkwardly.

“Hahahaha…” Song Qian was amused.

He Wei gazed at Song Qian. He felt the need to ask Song Mian to change Yun Xiangxiang’s bodyguard the next time he saw Song Mian.

He couldn’t imagine what kind of bad influence Song Qian would bring to Yun Xiangxiang.

“Oi, He Wei, you better not look at me like that, or else I’ll poke those eyes blind!” Song Qian clenched her fists.

“Come and have a go,” He Wei sneered.

“Oh, you want to fight?!” Song Qian hurled a punch at He Wei.

He Wei wouldn’t take that lying. He dodged to the side, evading her punch, but Song Qian changed the punch into a chop. Even so, He Wei grabbed her hand in time.

Cold sparks flew as their gazes met. Song Qian spun and kicked at He Wei.

He Wei jumped backward, evading the kick in time. Song Qian leaped toward him, and both of them went to the empty ground beside the vineyard to fight.

Yun Xiangxiang was speechless.

When night came, the exhausted Li Xiangling and Song Meng fell asleep when they hit the hay. Yun Xiangxiang was sitting in the open garden; she had just finished chatting with Song Mian and didn’t feel like sleeping yet.

Qi Jun noticed her sitting there alone as he walked past the spot. He went up to her. “Why aren’t you in bed yet?”

“I’m star bathing.” Yun Xiangxiang answered.

“Star b…” Qi Jun was about to ask what that meant when he realized the lame joke she was cracking.

“There are a lot of pests roaming around at night; being alone isn’t safe for you.” Especially when the vineyard had more pests than any other place.

Remembering the cobra that Yun Xiangxiang had come across in the hotel, Qi Jun felt the need to remind her.

Yun Xiangxiang said nothing as she raised the scented ball in her hand.

Qi Jun was flabbergasted.

“Forget I said anything.” Qi Jun was speechless. “I’m going to sleep even if you aren’t.”

“Wait.” Yun Xiangxiang stopped Qi Jun, who was about to leave. She looked at the chair beside her. “I need to talk to you.”

Qi Jun looked around for a moment. “I don’t think that’s a good idea. You’re my buddy’s girlfriend. I don’t think we should be alone together at midnight…”

Yun Xiangxiang gave him a death gaze, and Qi Jun sat down obediently. “Make it fast. I’m beat!”

“You asked for it. You’re a rich kid, and yet you had to join in the work.” Yun Xiangxiang admonished him.

“I’m feeling what the people are feeling. If I—the boss—works, it will boost my employees’ morale. The earlier we finish work, the earlier I can dismiss them. I’m saving money!” Qi Jun justified his doing.

“Alright, Savage boy. Keep on with that flowery talk. I guarantee that you’ll fail, no matter who the girl is.” Yun Xiangxiang wasn’t going to beat about the bush. “I don’t think you know how much weight my opinion carries for them.”

Yun Xiangxiang wasn’t full of herself, but if any of her girlfriends dated any guy, Yun Xiangxiang just needed to say something to them to ruin that guy’s image. Nothing would change unless the guy could change her opinion about him.

Qi Jun immediately confessed. “Please don’t, my noble lady. I surrender. I surrender now!”

Yun Xiangxiang glanced at him. “Talk. Who did you fall for?”
