Hellmode ~A Hardcore Gamer Becomes Peerless in Another World with Retro Game Settings~

Chapter 160

Chapter 160

It is now early December.

One thing that has happened during this time is that the development village that my father, Rodan is the mayor of is developing well.

We have already finished building the fence and started Boar hunting.

The villagers were able to hunt down about 20 Great Boars with the help of the Heliocane and Mithril spears.

The White Dragon Mountains are long and wide. There are a sufficient number of Boars, but they have been overpopulating for the past few years. This is because I have wiped out the Goblins and Orcs that used to feed on the Boars.

The villagers are now able to nourish themselves with Boar meat in the winter and plow the fields next spring.

Right now, Allen and his friends are in the hall of the bottom floor boss of the A-class dungeon in the Academy City.

“Finally!”

“…”

In front of the 8 of us laid a Dragon. Not my summon, but the bottom floor boss. It was taking its last breath.

We were able to defeat the Dragon of the A-class dungeon without relying on Kurena’s Extra skill.

“Oh, I leveled up!”

“Congratulations, Merle. You’re now Level 58.”

I think Merle has gotten used to the expression “Level”.

[Name] Merle

[Age] 14

[Talent] Magic Rock General

[Level] 58

[Strength] 1621

[Mana] 2340

[Attack] 756

[Endurance] 1274

[Agility] 756

[Intelligence] 2340

[Luck] 1453

Skill: Magic Rock General <1>, Flying Arm <1>, Spearmanship <3>, Shield Technique <3>

[Extra] Combination (right arm)

[Experience] 80,240 / 40,000,000

Skill Level

[Flying Arm] 1

Skill Experience

[Flying Arm] 0/10

I think being the head in a combined robot is the coolest part though. { Allen’s comment regarding Merle’s Extra skill}

Merle has to ride a Golem in order to use her skills. In the Academy City, where there are no Golems, she cannot gain any Skill Experience by consuming mana, and her Skill Levels has not increased at all.

That’s why Merle is the only one who doesn’t have the status increase skill one gets at Skill Level 3 or 6.

Like Sophie, Merle came to this Academy City due to the Five Continents Alliance. She plans to continue fighting with me and the others in the northern part of the Central Continent, using a Golem.

In the northern part of the Central Continent, there are some Elves, but there are also Golem soldiers loaned by the Baukis Empire. They are fewer in number than the Elves, but they are powerful enough to slaughter A-rank magical beasts.

“Oh! A Gold chest! I knew it! They only appear if the bottom floor boss is a Dragon!”

The reward for defeating the Dragon appeared immediately after we defeated it. The reward this time seemed to be a Gold chest, and Kiel jumped at our second Gold chest in a year.

When he opened it, a Ring appeared.

(Hmm, I would have preferred an Orichalcum weapon, a Greatsword or an axe at that.)

I have got the Mana Recovery Ring that I had been longing for. As a result, Rings have become much less of a priority for our party. The next thing I want is Orichalcum weapons to strengthen my whole party.

I especially want to get a weapon that can be equipped by Kurena or Dogora.

My guess is that a weapon increases the user’s [Attack]. I can only guess because even Appraisers can’t see the increase. I also think that higher the quality of weapons, the greater the status increase. Like:

Steel Sword: +100

Mithril Sword: +500

Heliocane Sword: +1000

Adamantite Sword: +3000

Orichalcum Sword: +5000 (or more maybe)

In addition, the actual damage dealt can vary greatly depending on the attacked part, momentum, and skill level.

This is a numerical value for weapons only.

I have only seen the effect of an Orichalcum sword once when I fought against Helmios, so I can’t be sure about that. How good or bad Helmios used the sword was also a problem with my prediction without any answer.

“I equipped it, but what did it do?”

“Oh! Your [Mana] increased by 1000..”

I checked Kiel’s status in the Grimoire after he equipped the Ring and found that his [Mana] had increased by 1000.

(I want to get my <Summon> to Level 8 as soon as possible. This Mana Increasing Ring along with the Mana Recovery Ring seems quite good.)

We decided to figure out who would equip it later.

This is Sophie, Formar and Merle’s 5th A-class dungeon. And we just conquered it.

Buzz

“I am the Dungeon Management System. I’m here to issue you with your A-class Dungeon Certificate of Conquest.”

“It showed up.”

Cecile and everyone else were no longer surprised by the sudden appearance of the cube-shaped object.

I noticed that the number of engravings on the black card has increased to five.

“Since the party, “Abandoned Gamers” have collected 5 A-class dungeon Certificates of Conquest, we will now issue you an invitation to the S-class dungeon.”

As soon as the Dungeon Management System finished saying that, the 5 engravings combined to form one large engraving on the black card.

“Does this mean we can go to the S-class dungeon?”

“That’s right.”

“Where is the S-class dungeon?”

“It’s Janpani.”

(Where?)

I have never been to such a place or learned about it in World Geography class.

“Are you referring to the Temple of Janpani?”

“Yes. The Temple of Janpani.”

Merle reacted to the word “Janpani”. She seems to know where this Janpani place is.

“What? You know about it, Merle?”

“Yes. It’s a huge temple where Lord Digragni resides. I think it’s in the northeast of the Imperial Capital. …”

Merle’s gaze swam in the air as she tried to remember the location of Janpani. Apparently, Merle knew where it was, but she had never actually been there.

“The Imperial Capital, you mean, in the Baukis Empire?”

“Yeah, yeah.”

(What, the S-class dungeon is in the Baukis Empire?)

“What? So we can’t go to the S-class dungeon right away?”

We had decided to enter the S-class dungeon after my <Summon> reached Level 7.

(I thought that a portal would appear after we conquer 5 A-class dungeons that would lead us to the S-class dungeon, or that this cube-shaped object would teleport us to the S-class dungeon.)

Now that nearly all of us have reached Level cap, we’ll need the Orichalcum weapons to get stronger.

Helmios also recently told me that Orichalcum weapons can be obtained in dungeons, so I’ve been thinking about the inevitable challenge of the S-class dungeon and setting up requirements to enter it.

The requirements to challenge the S-class dungeon included defeating the Dragon without relying on Kurena’s Extra skill.

“So, we can’t enter.”

Cecile sighed looking disappointed.

“Hmm… why don’t we go to the Baukis Empire next year as transfer students. Then we might be able to see Merle use Golems too.”

I don’t know where the Academy of the Baucis Empire is, but I want it to be as close as possible to the temple of Janpani, where the S-class dungeon is located.

In addition, in the third year, students start to learn strategy and have practical sessions. In practice, the students will go to the Orc Nests to attack together. The lessons for the war will begin in earnest.

In addition to that, the training for activating Extra skill will begin as well.

“You can do that?”

Dogora couldn’t keep up with my idea.

“I don’t know. Maybe we could ask the Principal?”

I wanted to ask the Principal to transfer us to the Baucis Empire’s Academy. It is only December now, it might be possible to transfer us since the new session will begin in April.

“I’ll ask Theodosir to show some flexibility.”

Sophie, who had also heard my ideas, suggested. Thus, it was agreed that we would challenge the S-class dungeon in the Baucis Empire for the Orichalcum weapon.

“I’m sorry to interrupt your conversation. But I still have some explaining to do.”

The cube-shaped object that had been listening to our conversation spoke up. Apparently, it had not finished its explanation.

“Yes, what is it?”

(Is there anything more?)

“If you successfully conquer the S-class dungeon in Janpani, your invitation will be converted into a challenge to the Dungeon Master.”

“”What?””

“Whoa, whoa! The final boss! You know what you’re doing, Digragni!

To everyone’s surprise, I clasped my hands and screamed.

“Does that mean we get to fight the Dungeon Master?”

Cecile took over for the screaming me and proceeded with the conversation.

“That’s right.”

“What will happen if we win?”

The question in Cecile’s mind was apparently, “What’s in it for me?”

“Only those who defeat the Dungeon Master shall know the answer to that question.”

(Oh! Not going to tell us? Perfect! Perfect!”

“We definitely have to conquer the S-class dungeon!”

Allen said as he looked at everyone.

Kurena replied with a determined shout, while Cecile sighed saying, “Here we go again.”
