Game Lord's Cultivation System

171 Friendship

“So how long was the barrier blocking for?” Jiang Ming asked, hoping to get a clear picture of the current situation.

Information is always the most important detail that one must obtain in order to proceed with any type of situation.

Hence, Jiang Ming could only rely on Yang Liqin to answer his questions and relay the events that had occurred.

Time slowly passed by, and Yang Liqin finished explaining the circumstances.

“The meteor created a huge crater at the front, but there was a transparent barrier that has been slowly weakening down as we continue to speak now.” Yang Liqin said.

Jiang Ming nodded his head.

“Seems like we could only wait for the transparent barrier to diminish.” He said calmly.

At the same time, he inferred that the transparent barrier was active to allow everyone to have a chance to gather in the area.

Of course, that was only an inference and not the truth..

‘Sigh, if the GLCS hadn’t gone on hiatus due to the upgrading, then I would have obtained more valuable information.’ Jiang Ming lamented silently.

“Anyway, what are you doing with those two people following behind you?” Now that she finished answering his question, it was her turn to ask.

“Don’t you know they belonged to the 6 powerful clans and could be regarded as our enemies?” She whispered softly.

“I know, but this Ping Gong doesn’t seem to be the same type as Di Qiaowei.” Jiang Ming replied, talking about the hilarious event of him drooling over a beef jerky strip.

The two of them were communicating as if they were the only ones in the area, causing the crowd to have a look in disbelief.

Some people in the crowd were clearly envious of Jiang Ming to be able to have such beauty as a junior sister. Beauty was one thing, but her domination was another thing.

Who wouldn’t want a powerful companion?

“ROAR!”

“What the heck is this beast?” Jiang Ming was dumbfounded by the sudden growl from the Kractacle.

However, before he received an answer, Yang Liqin’s eyes turned red as she leaped upward and raised her leg.

In a swift motion, she slammed her leg down at the head of the Kractacle, causing him to crash down with an injury.

“The hell are you growling at my senior brother for!” Yang Liqin clasped her hands and snorted coldly.

“The next time you can’t determine allies and enemies, then you should just go back to your lake to submerge.” She added.

The Kractacle whimpered in a pitiful tone as he wrapped his head around with his tentacles while nodding its head. He was just trying to act as a bodyguard and warn Jiang Ming off to not do any rash action.

‘Why is life so unfair to me?’ Kractacle cried inwardly. For the past few hours, he was standing still without doing anything and was scolded harshly by Yang Liqin when others got too close to her.

This time, he tried to be clever to make a move first but was met with an intense backlash instead.

Meanwhile, Jiang Ming casually pretended to not see the pitiful state of the Kractacle as he wrapped his hand around Yang Liqin’s waist.

“Is this your tamed beast?” He asked sweetly.

Yang Liqin nodded her head.

“Un, he was submerged in some lake and was going on a rampage. Hence, I gave it a harsh beating and it decided to follow me now.”

“Damn, this beast must be a masochist then. Beaten to submission~”

“I guessed so. There’s a reason why I named it Kractacle since it’s similar to another sea creature, Kraken.” Yang Liqin responded sweetly.

Sometime later, Yang Liqin held Jiang Ming’s hand as she brought him to the top of the Kractacle’s head.

“We’ll probably have to wait for another hour or so until the transparent barrier vanishes. We should just lay here for comfort.” She said gently.

Jiang Ming nodded his head.

He was indeed exhausted after the constant expedition and fighting without any break taken. It was a good time to relax, and he was sure no one would be foolish enough to start a fight against them.

One Kractacle alone could slaughter all Spiritual Elementary Realm cultivators if it wishes to. Not to mention, their public display of strength was already good enough to deter them from making a dumb decision.

Jiang Ming lay on his back while Yang Liqin gently leaned her head on his shoulder.

They were like a new couple going on a picnic date, ignoring the chaotic situation surrounding them.

“Damn, fellow cultivator Jing is indeed extraordinary. Even his companion is leagues higher than the tigress at home.” Ping Gong said in envy. He was truly jealous of Jiang Ming’s extravagant life and the freedom he had compared to him.

All he could do was be stuck in his room daily and would only be allowed outside to accompany his tigress shopping.

While Ping Gong was sulking on his miserable life, Hung Chao stepped forward and patted his shoulder, “Just give it up, Ping Gong. Your grandfather’s arrangement was the best thing that could have happened to you.”

“Hmph, what do you know, Hung Chao? Aren’t you just a failed prodigy that couldn’t condense a wood element in your dantain to become an alchemist?” Ping Gong snorted coldly.

The two of them had been childhood friends, so they would constantly bicker and point at each other’s weaknesses without holding back.

That was the so-called true friendship. Being able to blurt things out to each other without care is a form of trust.

Hung Chao twitched his lips when Ping Gong once again hit his sore spot.

“Do you really have to bring up my failed career path?”

“Same goes for you. Stop bringing up my tigress, and I shall stop.”

“Tch, whatever then. Hand me over a beef jerky strip, and I’ll give you 20 kg of meat in return.” Hung Chao offered, finally showing his true motive.
