Game Lord's Cultivation System

167 Hiatus

After the system prompt, the Game Lord’s Cultivation System officially went into hiatus mode to undergo maintenance.

It was like when a video game needed to close to implement new updates. Almost every gamer hated and loved these kinds of updates at the same time.

After all, they are unable to play their favorite game for a few hours, but they would also be able to get new content once the update is completed.

“Oh well, at least my map, inventory, and other functions are still working properly.” Jiang Ming shrugged his shoulders.

He could be said to be extremely fortunate to still be able to do whatever he wants and access some functions compared to less fortunate players.

Although it was weird to not occasionally see a system prompt popping up in his face, Jiang Ming was sure to get used to it.

He was a cultivator now, and only he could rely on himself in any possible danger..

‘Since I’m now at the Spiritual Lord Realm, I think it’s time to think about what kind of main cultivation technique to focus on.’ Jiang Ming thought.

The main cultivation technique is different from other martial techniques that one would casually learn. The difference is that the main cultivation technique is what a cultivator would focus on their entire life and would rarely ever change it after choosing one.

It was also the most important aspect of a cultivator when they reached the higher realm.

The better the main cultivation technique they had chosen, the more advantage that they have over the other.

The decision could never be a hasty one, but a carefully planned one.

“I would choose the old one that I used in Cultivation Omega, but that would be boring. Doing the same thing that you know the process about would not have any excitement.” He thought aloud.

Scratching his head slightly, Jiang Ming decided to be patient about choosing one. He still has a lot of time and does not need to rush ahead.

He slowly retraced his footstep to exit the inner area of the Avalon Ruin. There is no more investigation needed since only a few details could be determined from the clues left behind.

If he truly wanted to find out more secrets, then Jiang Ming would need to gather other relics kept by different Token Holder.

After walking out of the Avalon Ruin, Jiang Ming noticed the entire ruin started crumbling into dust, almost like it was only there for him to investigate. Once he finished his task, the Avalon Ruin would cease to exist again.

‘Truly like a video game huh… Could only continue to advance forward and not turn back.’ He thought.

Sometime later, Jiang Ming began using his spiritual perception to find an exit path to leave the environment he was thrown at.

When Jiang Ming located the exit path, he began leisurely walking there.

Given how there was no change in Yang Liqin’s health status, Jiang Ming could be reassured that everything must have been smooth-sailing for her.

‘Hmm, it would be an embarrassment if I failed to loot anything in the ancient ruin when I meet up with my aunt. I should probably find some people from the 6 powerful clans to kill and loot.’ Jiang Ming thought.

With that thought process, Jiang Ming began headhunting those who dressed in fancy clothes or acted arrogantly.

It didn’t take long for him to find such a group in a short amount of time.

“Haha, our Hung Clan have truly made a killing in this expedition. Three unique items from the dead skeleton and we even find so many valuables herbs.”

“Indeed, the elder would be proud when we revealed our loot to him.”

“Our Hung Clan shall rise to the point that not even the Di Clan can act haughtily.”

As Jiang Ming concealed his presence and hid in a nearby bush, he heard three people talking nearby.

‘Hmm, the Hung Clan huh? I’ve heard they are recently trying to recruit some alchemists to refine pills for their youth to become stronger. What a shame though, they aren’t powerful or wealthy enough to entice those alchemists to work for them.’ Jiang Ming sneered inwardly.

Just when he was about to make a move on them, his ears suddenly perked up as he detected another group of people arriving.

“Ayo, isn’t this the trash from the Hung Clan, Hung Chao? How are you still alive and yapping that stinky mouth of yours?” A voice echoed from the northwest.

Hung Chao clicked his tongue in anger when he recognized the taunting tone belonged to.

“Ping Gong, aren’t you the shameless bastard that got caught in a brothel by your fiance? I’m surprised your fiance still allowed you to roam in the street after that public beating.” Hung Chao fired back.

Ping Gong was the young heir of the Ping Clan. He had the natural face of a charmer and the main reason why he was able to swoon numerous naive girls to bed with him. Due to this, he was known for his lascivious behavior and uncontrollable lust.

And to forcibly block his seed from spreading all over the Northern Continent, Ping Gong’s grandfather had specifically arranged for him to have a fiance that was known as the tigress from the Wen Clan.

“Hung Chao, are you courting death?” Ping Gong lifted his sleeve up as he cursed in an angry tone. Ever since he was engaged to the tigress, his debauchery days were over.

He could not even get into contact with a decent woman before getting beaten up black and blue. The worst part was that he would be forced on lockdown if his fiance caught him roaming the street alone.

Hung Chao obviously knew the weakness of Ping Gong was his fiance. Thus, he purposely mentioned his fiance in rebuke.

Meanwhile, Jiang Ming was casually eating some beef jerky as he watched the show in anticipation.

To screw with the 6 powerful clans, he had naturally done all of his research beforehand. Hence, Jiang Ming knew shit was about to go down.

‘Please kill each other gently~’
