Game Lord's Cultivation System

162 Ruthlessness

The fragment map that Wen Jun had offered was about an inheritance left by an Immortal.

If she could gather the rest of the fragment map and pieced them together, then the value of it is 100 times greater than the ancient ruin she was currently exploring.

While Yang Liqin was in deep thought, Wen Jun asked stutteringly, “I-Is this enough to spare my life?”

“You still haven’t told me where you obtained this map?”

“Our Wen Clan happened to purchase the fragment map from an auction.”

Yang Liqin raised an eyebrow. An auction with a fragment map would not have escaped her scope of surveillance.

“You dare to lie in front of me?” She stomped the dried landscape in fury, causing a few cracks to appear.

Wen Jun’s body trembled slightly as he hurriedly shook his head..

“This Wen Jun doesn’t dare.” He said nervously.

“It was from an auction conducted by a mysterious cloaked person at the Haze Forest. We were skeptical at first, but our doubts were cleared when the mysterious person managed to outright kill three Spiritual Masters consecutively.

‘Another mysterious expert? Just what the hell is happening to the Northern Continent?’ Yang Liqin wondered silently.

She proceeded to ask several more questions from Wen Jun.

Once she confirmed everything and that he was ignorant about the true values of the fragment map, she nodded her head.

“I see…” She muttered, snapping her fingers to levitate the fragment map. After that, she stored it in the spatial ring given by Jiang Ming as she turned around.

“You can leave now-“

Upon hearing that, Wen Jun’s face brightened up as he hurriedly got up and started running away from the scene. In his mind, it was best to leave right away when he was spared.

Only a fool would idle around or question why he was spared.

Just when he got away for 3 kilometers, Wen Jun suddenly felt pain in his chest. He glanced down a bit to see what happened, only to find himself being pierced by a tentacle.

With one last effort, Wen Jun turned around and noticed Yang Liqin calmly petting the head of the Cannibal Octo.

“H-How could you lie….” Those were his final words before he collapsed to the ground with no sign of life.

“I didn’t lie to you. I merely said you can leave, but the Cannibal Octo did not say you could leave.” Yang Liqin said calmly, placing the mask back on her face to conceal her identity.

She was exploring here with Jiang Ming in secret, meaning that anyone else that had seen their face would not be spared. Otherwise, what was the point of hiding their identities in the first place?

“Cannibal Octo… go ahead and devour him whole after taking off his spatial ring.” Yang Liqin patted the head of Cannibal Octo and said.

The Cannibal Octo was like a cute little puppy that had just been commanded to do a task. Without even hesitating, it extended one of his tentacles and sliced off the finger of Wen Jun, wrapping the spatial ring around.

Just when he was about to hand the spatial ring to Yang Liqin, he was kicked ruthlessly by Yang Liqin.

“Damn it, are you trying to make my hand dirty again?” Yang Liqin scolded harshly.

“That damn blood from Wen Jun’s finger is still leaking out and staining the spatial ring. If Jiang Ming were to see me bloody or have the stench of blood then he would be worried sick and questioned me. Are you trying to ruin me?”

The Cannibal Octo held a pitiful expression as he whimpered in despair. He was trying to get on her good side, but he had somehow offended her.

“Stop whimpering and clean the bloodstain.” Yang Liqin ignored its pitiful state and continued to scold harshly.

To a magical beast, one must not be kind-hearted or lenient. Otherwise, they would think that you are someone easy to bully. Magical beasts only obey one rule throughout their life. And that is to follow the strongest and only the strongest.

Sometime later, once the Cannibal Octo had been beaten black and blue, it gently extended its tentacles to hand over the spatial ring that was thoroughly cleaned.

Yang Liqin nodded her head in approval and grabbed the spatial ring.

Instead of keeping the spatial ring though, she took out all the items that were stored inside.

Once the items piled up like a mountain, Yang Liqin carefully took a few items that she deemed useful.

“The rest can fill your belly,” She glanced at the Cannibal Octo and said, throwing the spatial ring to the ground.

The Cannibal Octo held a dazed look as he stared at the spatial ring that had taken a lot of effort to wipe off the bloodstain.

“What the hell are you staring at? That spatial ring had the qi of his elder, so I won’t be keeping it. Keeping it is the same as telling the world that I killed Wen Jun or indirectly killed him.” Yang Liqin explained.

The Cannibal Octo scratched its big head with his tentacles, clearly unable to comprehend her words. He was a magical beast and didn’t understand human cultivators or anything.

Time slowly passed by, and the Cannibal Octo busied himself with cleaning up the scene.

Meanwhile, Yang Liqin began to inspect the fragment map in a daze.

‘Who would have thought that traces of the Immortal would ever come down here?’ She thought.

Her perplexed expression made it seem like she was worried about something big happening in the future.

Hours had soon passed by, and Yang Liqin still couldn’t figure out the appearance of the fragment map or the mysterious expert that was selling it.

Her back leaned on the huge figure of the Cannibal Octo.

“Whatever, I’ll just let Jiang Ming look at it when we meet up.” Yang Liqin shrugged her shoulders.

Just when she was preparing to leave, the Cannibal Octo tapped on her shoulder with his tentacle, clearly asking for permission to follow her.
