Game Lord's Cultivation System

160 Reaping the Benefits

After some more pondering, Yang Liqin decided to alert the magical beast hiding in the lake toward Tang Wurong and Wen Jun.

Who told them to be fighting in the lake?

And who told Tang Wurong to ask for a competition out of nowhere?

“They only have themselves to blame~” Yang Liqin giggled softly as she retrieved a small pouch. The pouch emitted a foul and unpleasant smell.

Even Yang Liqin needed to use a cloth to hold onto the pouch. After all, she feared that the stinkiness of the smell would latch on her hand.

Her nose was being covered by spiritual qi as she slowly walked toward the edge of the platform she was on. At the same time, she activated her spiritual perception to determine the lurking magical beast under the lake.

Once she pinpointed its coordinates, Yang Liqin smiled wickedly at Tang Wurong and Wen Jun..

‘Oh dear lord, the magical beast has been hiding beneath the two of you all along.’ She exclaimed inwardly. Things had just become easier for her to bait and distract the magical beast away from the Seven Night Star Flower.

After all, a magical beast’s senses have surpassed the cultivator. Therefore, even though the magical beast is currently spectating Tang Wurong and Wen Jun, its attention has never left the Seven Night Star Flower.

“Hmph, Tang Wurong, no wonder why every man runs away from you. You are even more brutal and unruly when compared to men.” Wen Jun cursed.

“Whatever, I’d rather be confident in my strength than to rely on gadgets every single expedition like your Wen Clan does.” Tang Wurong sneered coldly in response.

Just when they were busy cursing at each other, Yang Liqin suddenly threw a pouch toward them. Due to the stinkiness of the pouch, it instantly caught their attention.

“What was that about?” Tang Wurong was the first one to ask her. “What kind of pouch is that? Why does it have such a foul smell?”

While Tang Wurong was confused by the action, Wen Jun on the other hand felt like there was a bad premonition about the pouch.

“Not good!” His eyebrow twitched for a moment when he realized what happened.

“Everyone retreat from the lake now!” Wen Jun tried to warn his other two companions to retreat back to the shore.

Unfortunately for him though, the warning was a bit late when the magical beast that had been lurking the entire time was provoked by the disgusting fragrance emitted from the pouch.

With a huge splash of water, the magical beast leaped upward from the lake and directly swallowed the two companions of Wen Jun. They didn’t even get a proper chance to fight back before being eaten alive.

Wen Jun clicked his tongue at the appearance of the ferocious beast that had been lurking in the lake.

‘Damn that mysterious cultivator. She purposely made us become the bait after we tried to reap the benefits.’ He cursed silently. He was unwilling to accept the fact that what he failed to do was achieved by Yang Liqin effortlessly.

Not to mention, he lost two of his companions in an instant, draining him of manpower. However, the worst part of it all was that the magical beast was now focusing on him due to his shouting.

“That’s a Cannibal Octo…” Tang Wurong muttered in midair. It was a good thing she had retreated backward the moment she smelled the stinky pouch thrown toward them. Otherwise, she feared that she would have been caught by the magical beast.

“Cannibal Octo? What kind of sea creature is this?” Wen Jun asked in horror as he hurriedly used his sword to slice away the incoming tentacles.

“Don’t slice its tentacle!” Tang Wurong tried to warn him of such action. Alas, it was too late and Wen Jun had sliced two tentacles in one swoop.

“Hmph, these tentacles are nothing compared to my sword.” Wen Jun sneered coldly, looking extremely prideful of his action. A large sea creature like Cannibal Octo was surprisingly unable to handle a strike from him.

How could he not be proud?

Meanwhile, both Yang Liqin and Tang Wurong shook their heads in response.

‘What an idiot! Originally, you might have a chance of escaping but you have the nerve to cut its tentacles.’ Tang Wurong exclaimed inwardly.

As a general on the battlefield, she had seen her fair share of a Cannibal Octo in the past. The best method of killing it was directly striking its gigantic forehead and not the tentacles.

Once, there was an ignorant soldier that sliced its tentacles before, only to result in numerous casualties since the Cannibal Octo went into a frenzy.

Without even thinking any further, Tang Wurong placed her long spear to her back as she propelled herself away using some of her spiritual qi. The battle right now is not ideal with the appearance of Cannibal Octo.

Before leaving though, she made sure to give a final speech to Yang Liqin.

“Yiqin, you might have gained an advantage in this farce, but I will definitely remember this debt. We shall fight in our next encounter.” Tang Wurong shouted and fled the scene.

Yang Liqin could only sigh softly as she returned her focus to the Seven Night Star Flower. Now that the Cannibal Octo was going on a rampage at Wen Jun, it was the perfect time to reap the benefit she had been waiting for.

As she walked closer to the Seven Night Star Flower, Yang Liqin made sure to proceed with caution. She coated her hand with spiritual qi and slowly dug out the bottom of the soil.

Her careful action of uprooting and preventing any damage to the Seven Night Star Flower was effective. Once she uprooted, Yang Liqin wasted no time in storing it in the spatial ring given by Jiang Ming.

‘Phew, with this flower at hand, Jiang Ming could now perfect his cultivation stage.’ Yang Liqin thought. She had long predicted Jiang Ming’s reason for still being stuck at the Spiritual Elementary Realm.
