Gacha Sovereign

Chapter 929 Mission

Three days later, Aria had successfully advanced to 10-Star Martial Monarch. They then started Alex's hellish training.

This might be the first time Aria experienced the full experience of hellish training. It was different from what she received in the Cypress Family mansion.

After training, every muscle in her body was sore to the point she almost lost her ability to move. At that time, Alex didn't let her go and made her cultivate until the muscle pain disappeared and repeated the same process.

This way, they wouldn't waste a single minute.

Not only did the training consume a huge amount of energy, especially when she tried to understand the Purgatory Sword's concept, but it also needed a lot of mental strength.

Most people usually said they practiced until they dropped, but not many of them actually repeated such a thing for weeks, months, or even years. They simply needed time to relax.

Alex did the same as well, but he had a clear target for his training. If he needed to complete the training set in three hours, he would try to break his limit and complete it in two hours. He repeated the process every single day until he finished his training.

And this was the essence of Alex's hellish training, breaking the limit.

Aria didn't complain this whole time and just endured the pain until she began to feel numb about it, just like how Evelyn and Rose felt.

Quickly, four months had passed, and it invited the curiosity of the peak master and Melvie. They decided to check on them because four months were certainly not a short time.

Alex and Aria met them by the gate when they noticed their presence. Of course, Aria was covered by sweat.

"Ara?! You two sure are having fun, eh?" Melvie smirked, teasing Alex and Aria.

"Fun, huh? It's certainly fun to see your strength increase." Aria smiled. Of course, she would be feeling happy when she realized that her strength a few months ago was just a mere 8-Star Martial Monarch. After getting Alex's training, her strength increased by leaps and bounds, and now she had become a solid 10-Star Martial Monarch.

Although the Energy Pill contributed as well, the biggest leap was surely her battle efficiency. Unlike a few months ago, she now had enough control to fight someone with her lightning continuously. Not only by using those high-speed movements, but she also could use her lightning to add a few more directional attacks or even strengthening her Martial Arts.

"May I know what is the reason for Peak Master and Senior Sister to visit us?"

"It's nothing special. I told you a few months ago that the peak master can assign someone a mission, right?"

"So I have heard." Alex calmly nodded. "But if I remember correctly, we have the right to reject the mission."

"Of course, you have. That's why we are going to talk about the mission first. If you are interested in it, you can accept then."

"I think it's better to come inside first." Aria stopped Alex from talking and invited them in.

"Sure. As expected, you are more thoughtful than the guy." Melvie smiled while glancing at Alex with teasing eyes.

Alex only shrugged.

"You can also change your clothes first." Illevis nodded.

All of them then entered the house. After bringing the tea for the two, Aria decided to change her clothes first while Alex faced these two.

"How are you doing? Have you got accustomed to life in this sect yet?"

"If it's this house, then yes. I am not sure about the sect."

"Well, both of you haven't really gone out during these few months, so I guess that's about it." Illevis nodded while thinking about something. "I am wondering when you are going to take your first mission?"

"After Aria reaches 1-Star Martial Saint."

"Is that so?" She narrowed her eyes, realizing that Aria was only one step away from the Lightning Tribulation. Although she heard that the elder gave an energy pill to her, it was still too fast.

She predicted that she would need, at least, a year to reach Martial Saint, but Aria seemed to have surpassed that prediction.

If her cultivation speed was this fast, she might have reached 1-Star Martial Saint in her fifties, not seventies. With that kind of calculation, the only factor that changed the cultivation speed to the monstrous degree would probably Alex.

That was why she got curious about it and visited here. She narrowed her eyes and checked Alex's cultivation, finding him on the edge of 1-Star Martial Saint.

Alex didn't forget to change his strength, of course. He was planning to change it to 2-Star Martial Saint a few days later in fact.

"It seems that you have something special that can increase one's cultivation in a short period of time." She narrowed her eyes. "And I think you have used it on your own body. However, one thing that surprises me is the fact that I can feel how solid your foundation is. In other words, it won't be a crappy technique or something."

Alex narrowed his eyes. The only thing he did was to heighten someone's talent to the highest degree by breaking the limit again and again. This way, they would start absorbing the Spiritual Energy and increasing their proficiency in their skills quicker.

Other than that, he didn't do anything else.

"Even if that is the case, may I know what is the reason for Peak Master and Senior Sister coming here?" Alex paused for a moment and continued. "Is it to know what kind of training I have given to Aria?"

"Nope. It's not that. Because I am a God Rank Expert, I often went to other worlds, so I certainly knew that there will always be a way for someone to increase their cultivation speed. Unfortunately, the method didn't suit us.

"Although your technique that seems to suit us is tempting, I have another thing to say." She stopped Alex from making a baseless conclusion. "The sect is experiencing a shortage in medicinal ingredients for pills. Most of them are either plants or monster cores.

"The plants are planted in the garden at every single peak, so we are in shortage for monster cores. The sect was going to issue a mission for a big hunt. However, there were some oppositions about this, asking for it to be handed to only a few people for every peak. The peak masters are the ones in charge of the recruitment."

"So, you want me to go for this mission?"

"Yes. You and Aria. Because this is your first mission, Melvie is going to tag along to supervise you."

"Won't this direct hatred and jealousy from other Inner Disciples to us?"

"Nope. No one knows about this yet other than peak masters. And since I have given the mission to Melvie, she is the only one who knows about it other than me in this peak."

"In that case, why us? If you give this mission to other disciples, you will get a higher return."

"It's simple. I have checked the points you got and the time you needed. It turned out that you were faster than I could even imagine. From my perspective, you seem to have the ability to kill a hundred 1-Star Martial Saint beasts without having any problem. If it's placed on someone's hand, I doubt they have that kind of power.

"Hence, I want to entrust this mission in your hand. Melvie will handle all the higher-level magical beasts. If it's compared to her usual mission, she won't get that much, but it's a perfect opportunity for you." The elder smirked.

Alex fell silent for a few seconds before glancing at his right as Aria had finished changing clothes.

"You haven't explained what it's in us."

"It's simple. You can gain experience and money at the same time. The sect will be buying whatever you get with five percent above the market. You can kill a hundred thousand and get five percent. I am sure it is high, right?"

"A hundred thousand is impossible, you know. Especially, we need to know the time limit."

"Indeed. The time limit is only a month." She nodded.

After changing her clothes, she then sat beside Alex and faced the two.

"May I know the place?"

"It's called The Blood Island."

"Blood Island?" Aria furrowed her eyebrows. "This is a dangerous island where the three sects fought against each other in the past, right?!"

"Yes. It's as such. After the emergence of the Peerless Sword God, we haven't really had any big fight like that. Hence, the island is filled with monsters now. It's also the time to clean it up again, so this will be a perfect time for everyone." Illevis nodded.

Aria looked at Alex, not understanding the whole concept.

Alex thought for a moment and had difficulty accepting it. On one hand, they might get a good amount of Spirit Crystal. On the other hand, their ability would be exposed.

If he wanted to make them misunderstand, he was planning to have Aria as the lead. Unfortunately, that plan was for when Aria reached 1-Star Martial Saint.

The current her had enough explosive power to kill 1-Star Martial Saint easily, but it was hard for her to fight against 2-Star or even 3-Star in her own accord.

That was why he needed to step in. And he could easily find monsters with his Spirit Eyes, but it was impossible to use it under supervision. Unless Melvie spectated from afar, she would surely note their fighting style down.

At the same time, he couldn't make it as a condition as well because Illevis would suspect him of doing something bad.

"One more question."

"Go on."

"When is it?" Alex asked.

"It's going to be the day after tomorrow. It's not that far from us, so you can go tomorrow."

Aria asked with a thought transmission. 'Are we going to do it?'

'This is a bit complicated. Your skill is good enough to face monsters one by one, but if it's a group of monsters, it will be hard for you. Well, it depends on your performances because I don't know the extent of your current strength against a group of monsters. Besides, unlike the previous hunt we did in the test, I can't use my Fire for the time being,' Alex answered.

'I see. I am not confident as well, but it's not like we need to be separated, right? You can just stop the magical beasts with your power while I am killing them under the guise of my training.' Aria offered a solution. 'I believe rejecting this is a bad move, especially since we haven't done anything in the past four months.'

'I guess we can only go this route.' Alex sighed inwardly before he gave the answer to Illevis and Melvie. "We will do it."

"That's good. Melvie is going to come again tomorrow to pick you up. If you meet other peaks' disciples, Melvie will handle that." Illevis smiled. "You only get the monster cores, and we will buy every monster core from you."

"I understand." Alex nodded, knowing that the money would go to Aria as an investment. Since the Sword God didn't want her and she herself had agreed to come under him in the future, an investment like this wouldn't be so bad.

"And I want you guys to be prepared. The sect master is rather suspicious, so I assume there will be something big going on soon. It can be next week, next month, or even next year. But I bet it won't be too long, so you should start preparing yourself."

"Is that like a threat to this sect?" Aria asked.

"Nope. It's a kind of opportunity. The sect master himself has hinted at it."

"I understand." Aria nodded.

"Then, let's meet tomorrow." Melvie smiled and waved her hand while bringing the peak master outside. "Let's go back, Peak Master."

"Yes. I will trouble you in this matter." She smiled.

Alex and Aria saw them off before exchanging looks.

"You can rest for today." Alex smiled.

"I don't know why but that's the best sentence I hear ever since coming to this sect." She stuck her tongue out and ran away.
