Chapter 453 - Meeting Again (1)

Chapter 453: Meeting Again (1)

Originally, Zhai Yunsheng did not want to come to the Qin family’s banquet.

However, when he was about to leave, he suddenly got distracted for a moment.

In his mind, there was a little girl who was clumsily ballroom dancing.

It was the first time that she had ever danced.

Back then, it was also at a Qin family banquet.

And thus, somehow, Zhai Yunsheng ended up at the Qin family banquet again. It was as though the demons and gods were at work.

As soon as Zhai Yunsheng appeared in front of everyone, he attracted most of the attention in the banquet hall.

However, he didn’t say anything to anyone. Instead, he found a corner and sat down on the sofa.

There were two powerful bodyguards that stood beside him. They were incredibly imposing and scary. The presence of the bodyguards discouraged the many people who wanted to come up to talk to Master Sheng.

Three years ago, Zhai Yunsheng almost got into an accident. This made the Zhai family even more concerned about his health.

Nowadays, Zhai Yunsheng could still do whatever he wanted. However, he had to have a bodyguard with some medical knowledge to accompany him wherever he went.

Zhai Yunsheng was not as against this arrangement as he had been before. Instead, he readily accepted it.

He was more concerned about his life than before.

He didn’t know how long he would live for. But as long as he lived, he would treat his life well.

Zhai Yunsheng’s eyes were half-closed. In his right hand, he held a whisky glass filled with soy milk.

The contents of the banquet were of no interest to him.

He was not interested in the people that attended the banquet as well.

At the banquet, Mo Shiyun also saw Zhai Yunsheng.

Three years ago at Hengyuan City, she had already heard of Master Sheng’s name from the mouth of others.

At that time, she knew that Master Sheng was respected by everyone. However, she hadn’t known about how much power he held in his hands.

However, after she came to the capital, she realized the power that was held in the hands of the Zhai family.

Even when she was at the height of her popularity, the only people that she could come into contact with were still ordinary celebrities. She was still very far away from the Zhai family in the capital.

In comparison to the Zhai family, the Jian family in Hengyuan City meant nothing.

When Mo Shiyun’s gaze retracted from Zhai Yunsheng’s body, she turned her head around to look somewhere else. Suddenly, she saw someone that she was very familiar with.

Jian Yiling!

Why was she here?

And why was she standing with Qin Chuan?!

Mo Shiyun saw Jian Yiling enter the banquet hall with Qin Chuan.

She saw the gentle smile on Qin Chuan’s face. It appeared as though he was saying something to her.

Qin Chuan then said something to the staff in the banquet hall. The staff then took Jian Yiling and Yu Xi to a corner of the banquet hall.

Mo Shiyun’s eyes darkened. Her heart felt as though a cat’s claw was scratching into it.

She knew that Qin Chuan was now well respected in society. She knew that there was a certain distance between herself and him.

And thus, she was willing to accept that she could only gaze at him from afar.

However, when Jian Yiling appeared beside Qin Chuan, the inner peace of hers had been completely shattered. She watched as she laughed and talked with him in such an intimate manner.

Qin Chuan wanted to accompany Jian Yiling. However, as he was the star of the banquet today, many people would surely come up to him to talk. If he stayed with Jian Yiling all the time, it would merely bother her.

And thus, Qin Chuan instead instructed the staff to move the seats away from where Jian Yiling was seated. He wanted no one else to disturb her.

Qin Chuan arranged for Jian Yiling to be seated at the westernmost part of the banquet hall.

Zhai Yunsheng was sitting in the easternmost corner of the banquet hall.

The two of them were separated by the entire banquet hall.

The crystal lights in the banquet hall were incredibly bright. Even from such a distance, as long as one’s eyesight was good enough, they could still see what was going on at the other side of the hall.

Zhai Yunsheng’s eyes, which had been half-closed earlier, were now fully open.

He looked directly across the hall at the figure that was seated on a sofa.

It was a familiar figure…
