Flowers Bloom from Battlefield

Chapter 65 - Reuniting

"If you don't want to stay alive, I could help you," Jun Hua said calmly. Her words were as cold as ice, but her tone and expression didn't change in the slightest. She was dressed as Jun Min and in front of her was Concubine Sie.

Concubine Sie stared at the 'young man' before her. "How did you know that I'm planning to kill myself?"

"It's easy," Jun Hua said. Given that Concubine Sie always did anything for her daughter's happiness to the point of enduring the harsh treatment with smile, she knew that nothing could hinder Concubine Sie to do anything for the sake of her daughter. She knew that she could be used by Chun Maora to make Lin Yuan's life hard since the girl also loves her mother so she chose a path that allowed her daughter to live in happiness.

Jun Hua was not a mother (yet), but she remembered her own mother who had done everything for her too. She knew that her mother loved her very much and she was willing to do anything just to ensure her happiness. She had once experienced all of it herself and hated herself for not being able to save her mother. She didn't want Lin Yuan to experience the same thing.

"Then, who was the one who died on that fire?"

"A prisoner on death row," Jun Hua answered.

Concubine Sie didn't dare to ask how Jun Hua managed to take a prisoner out. Feeling extremely grateful, she kneeled on the ground.

"Thank you very much for saving my life."

"I didn't do it for you," Jun Hua said. "I will send you to her husband's residence as servant. Although that will be your status in front of the others, they will certainly treat you well."

Concubine Sie was shocked. "Do you know her husband's family?"

Jun Hua nodded. They were one of the officials whom her family helped at one time. The relationship was not that close, but they would certainly help them on this matter as Concubine Sie was also the mother of the wife of their son.

"Thank you."

Jun Hua nodded to Yamin and she sent Concubine Sie to the place where Lin Yuan was staying.

Jun Hua watched Concubine Sie who walked impatiently. She suddenly remembered her own mother. When she was still a child, her mother used to hold her gently and rock her to sleep. When she was cold, her mother would hold her and share her warmth. Despite her mother's hate towards her father, she still treated her fairly well all those years.

Concubine Sie was similar in a way to her mother. Jun Hua could see that they were both mothers who loved and cherished their daughters deeply despite that they came from men they didn't like. She didn't know what Concubine Sie had experienced all these years but she clearly deserved a better life.

"Miss, it will be dark soon. We should head back."

"Yasha, why is it that women who always endured the most were also the ones who receive the littlest?" Jun Hua stared at the figure that has been away for a long time.

Yasha didn't know how to answer. He was a man and his main job was safeguarding Jun Hua so he never thought about this matter before.

Jun Hua looked at the sky. She was born as a woman but she had to live like a man all these years. Jun Hua sighed. Why should she think about this matter anyway? It was better to return early. She might not have been able to save her mother that year but she helped another mother to live with their daughter. Somehow she felt the weight on her shoulders had been reduced.

"Mother…" Lin Yuan didn't know how to react. When she first heard the news that her mother had died, she was crying so much. She knew that her mother must have wished for her to have a good life.

But now that she found that her mother was still alive and well, she didn't know what she should say anymore. She was really happy and surprised to see that her mother was still alive.

"Yuan'er, Mother is fine. Don't cry again, alright?" Concubine Sie held her daughter blissfully.

"Yes mother… But Mom, please don't do that again. Yuan'er doesn't want mother to leave me."

"Mother won't do it again. Mother promises you."

Lin Yuan hugged her mother back. She's happy to see her mother was safe and sound. It was only later on that she found out about the truth where Jun Min helped her mother secretly. With her new identity, she didn't need to be worried with the abuse from Chun Maora anymore and could live her life happily.

Lin Yuan felt deeply indebted to Jun family especially to Jun Hua and Jun Min. She didn't know what the future holds, but if it was possible she wanted to help them any way she could.

"Have they met with each other?" Jun Hua didn't turn her eyes away from her books as she asked Yamin who slipped in quietly.

"Yes."

"That's good to know. Tell Yasha to spread news to Chun family about their precious daughter. They deserve to know."

"Will do, Miss."

Yamin disappeared once again. Yasha was a man, so he was not allowed to stay near Jun Hua's room. At best, he would protect the home where she stays.

"Xia, are you done with the bookkeeping?" Jun Hua turned towards Xia who had been occupied checking the family's income of that month. Since they were staying at home, she wanted to take a look but Xia requested to study it first. Jun Hua allowed it and patiently waited for her but it had been almost one whole day.

"Miss, this counting is hard and all."

Jun Hua sighed as she took back the record book. She took a brush and encircled every part where the calculations didn't match. It didn't take her more than an hour to finish the entire book and she returned it back to Xia.

"Ask them why the calculation was wrong and you do appropriate measure to solve it."

Xia screened the book and she found out that her Miss calculated everything really quick. She truly wondered what kind of brain her Miss had. Never mind, it's better to give this book to the steward and ask him about it. If he cannot give satisfying answer then there will be some punishment ahead.
