Chapter 115 - Prince With A Different Surname (2)

Jun Min felt extremely shocked by the reward that the emperor bestowed upon them. He could accept it if it was only a rise in nobility title or the like, but he cannot comprehend why the emperor would grant him the title of a prince. It must be known that princes are the emperor's sons who can inherit his position later on. Doesn't it mean he's giving them the chance to inherit the throne?

Soujin narrowed his eyes slightly. Although the title of a prince might sound noble and grand, for him, it was not any better than trash. He didn't need the title of a prince to knock that person down from his throne. But there was no way he could reject this title, so he will just use it to his benefit.

Aside from that, they also got quite a sum of money. After that, the emperor decreed to grant them any request they have, as long as it was not over the top.

Jun Min kept on thinking about it. Being given the title of a prince has given him a tremendous boost in ranking. If those girls who chased after him only came from the lower nobility, except the Lin family, now those other high-rank-born girls would surely set their eyes on him. He was no longer someone of low birth, but rather he's a prince of the Ming Kingdom.

Somehow, he was thinking that this was not a really bad thing although he didn't plan on staying here for a long time. Jun Min raised his head.

"May I be as courageous to ask for something?"

"What is it?" the emperor was actually a bit nervous. After discussing with his trusted officials, they came to an agreement that tying the two of them to the Ming Kingdom was the best choice they could take. Regardless of anything, with the title of Prince, the Ming Kingdom's name would be tagged behind them.

He hoped that the two of them wouldn't ask for an impossible thing. But, given their standing, they shouldn't do something like that. Still, he couldn't help but feel a bit nervous over what they might ask him.

"I wish for my sister to be titled too…" Jun Min said in a low tone, rather embarrassed.

The other officials all looked at Jun Min like they were seeing the biggest idiot in the world. From everything he could wish for; money, women and fame, he actually chose to give it to his sister? How foolish can he be? But whatever they thought in their head, they would not voice it out.

The emperor was also stunned by Jun Min's request. Given that the imperial family and the Jun family had been at loggerheads with each other, it wouldn't be weird for Jun Min to possess some hate towards them. But his request was actually this simple… the emperor didn't need to give anything other than his decree to make this wish real.

Soujin unknowingly turned his head slightly to look at Jun Min. By asking for this request, Jun Hua would have the status of a princess and not the previous concubine-born daughter anymore. Her future prospect will be bright. No ordinary man could hope to get close to Jun Hua anymore. And with her almost reaching 15, she will be eligible for marriage soon.

"From now on, your sister will be a princess."

The emperor granted it without much thought. For him, it doesn't matter if the number of princesses increased by one because a girl could never contend for the throne. As for these two, he had discussed the matter and the officials all knew that it was still an impossible thing. The succeeding emperor needs to come from the emperor's bloodline except if the previous emperor appointed someone who didn't have it, which is practically impossible with him as the emperor.

Although he gave them the title of prince, he will not give them much power. The title basically only served as a status for the two of them.

"This subject thanks His Majesty for your grace."

Jun Min was happy because of this request. In any case, he didn't have any intention of stepping foot in the palace as Jun Min anymore. Besides, going by his age, he was not even qualified to become an official yet.

Behind them, Lan Ping was staring at them with a heated gaze. He couldn't believe that the emperor actually gave them the title of a prince. He felt envious towards them and wished for nothing more than to beat the hell out of them. But, he could not do anything yet. He needed to stay calm.

After the ceremony, they had a celebration in the hall. The hall was packed with people and Jun Min slipped to the side. He wanted to have a drink when he accidentally touched a girl's hand. He turned around to see a girl around the age of 15. The girl's face was beautiful. Her rosy lips and glittering eyes would make anyone feel envious. If not for Jun Min being used to his own face, raising his standards of beauty to an extraordinary level, he would be stunned by this lady's appearance.

"My apologies, I didn't mean to," Jun Min knew that women and men should keep their distance. But he still felt astonished that a lady actually came here.

The girl smiled sweetly. "You don't have to worry. This one would not blame brother scholar."

Jun Min's face showed a helpless expression. He knows, his appearance must have caused another misunderstanding. Given that this lady didn't know that he's a general, she must be only a family of some important official in the hall. But why was she not wearing a veil? Was she hoping to meet with some handsome boys here?

"My lady, I'm not a scholar. My name is Jun Min. I'm a general."

The lady looked towards Jun Min in disbelief. Jun Min could only laugh dryly, the expressions of those officials were also like this lady's expression now when they saw him walking with Soujin to the front… That was the truth and he could not change it.

"That's really unexpected… My name is Lan Gao Ya. It's nice to meet you, General Jun Min."
