Flowers Bloom from Battlefield

Chapter 110 - Unforgettable Arrow

The next morning, Soujin gave a long speech filled with murderous intent about how malicious the Kai Kingdom army is. Their prince even dared to plan a sneak attack on them and wounded Jun Min heavily. With his speech, all the soldiers became impatient and could not wait to get revenge for Jun Min.

With that, the battle on the third day was even fiercer than the previous day. Jun Min, who heard the speech and watched the battle, felt that the result from today's battle will be better than the day before.

"It seems that my name is more useful compared to me leading them," Jun Min lightly joked. Little did he know that in the future, people will say that the Jun family army is more formidable without Jun Min compared to when he's there. The soldiers will have become more reckless in their charge as they hoped to take revenge for their general.

Jun Min looked towards the army of the Kai Kingdom. He noticed that their forces are more unified compared with yesterday. It seems the loss of several commanders and their prince is making them even more careful and prudent.

"Give me my bow and arrow."

Jun Min's lips curved upwards. Despite his shoulder still hurting a bit, he won't allow them to get off lightly. The doctor told him that it was going to be alright and he is only going to use them a bit. Firing his arrows slowly, the enemies' commanders fell down one by one. If they are being that shameless, then he can do it too.

By the time the third day's battle was over, Jun Min had killed several military officials despite only sitting on a chair on the wall.

"Your skill is really something." Soujin said as he returned. His body was riddled with wounds again, but he mostly looked alright. His expression was clearly excited albeit tired. The fight with General Wei must have left him in a good mood.

"Thank you." Jun Min grinned. When his family first found out about him learning swordfight in a training hall in the village, they did not agree to him only using the sword. Under their insistence, he had to learn how to use the bow until he became proficient with it. Because of that, he can use both the bow and sword as and when needs.

"How's your shoulder?"

"It still hurts, but I can handle it," Jun Min answered. "What is the number of casualties?"

"It's higher than yesterday, but the number of enemies we managed to kill is more than yesterday too. In a sense, their fighting spirit is at the peak and they would do anything to avenge you."

"I'm that popular?" Jun Min grinned.

"You're liked by your soldiers." Soujin answered. "Tomorrow is going to be another fierce battle. If this keeps going on, a lot of their soldiers will be chipped away and they might be forced to withdraw. Without an adequate army, they can't battle to conquer the army in our cities."

Jun Min nodded. "And, their losses are severe."

With him adding additional damage to them from the wall, they should have expected that they won't get a smooth ending. All of his arrows reached their target and its precision are even scarier compared with their Sixth Prince.

"They will need a long time to recover from these losses." Soujin agreed.

The two chatted for a bit before resting. The next day, Soujin only rallied the soldiers for a bit before marching towards the enemy. Soujin once again battled with the great general while Jun Min stayed on the wall and fired his arrows occasionally when he found the right chances.

He had thought that the battle would last a long time with him having to use his wounded shoulder to fire the arrows continuously. However, his sharp senses told him that the fight will be different.

Jun Min suddenly stood up. The soldiers around him were startled, especially when they saw the solemn expression on his face.

"The Lan soldiers are coming… that thick blood-thirsty aura, it should be him." Jun Min narrowed his eyes and turned to the left. There were soldiers pouring in and among them, one person stood out in his fierceness. He made his way in completely ignoring his comrades as he kept on killing the Pan Kingdom soldiers.

Jun Min had heard about him, but seeing that man directly made him realize that this is a man who is very formidable. He's sure, this man's life is completely only about martial arts. Even he would not have the confidence to defeat him if he was the one facing him.

With Lan Ping and Lan Pan joining the fray, the battle soon turned advantageous to their side. Despite Lan Ping feeling awfully dejected, he cannot change the fact that he had come here late and missed the battle with the other two people. Forget it. He would just commit the most number of killings by using Lan Pan to the fullest.

General Wei knows that they would soon lose if things were to continue like this. With their soldiers' numbers already decreasing so much, he knows that the battle would undoubtedly turn pointless in the end. He stopped the battle with Soujin.

"Young man, it seems we cannot reach the conclusion of our fight today. Maybe in the future, if we meet again."

Soujin nodded. He respected this old general and was willing to let him go as he too wanted to fight with General Wei once more.

"The winner usually states the terms, but ceasing fire is enough," Soujin said and put his sword away.

General Wei agreed, "May the Heavens bless you, General Soujin."

Soujin nodded his head and lead the soldiers back while announcing their win in a loud voice. With General Wei moving back, the entire battle is their won.

General Wei soon announced the retreat of their soldiers, which also means their defeat. Only the Fourth Prince was still adamant on continuing the battle. He could not accept the fact that aside from losing two of his brothers, he still lost this fight.

"We will continue."

"Fourth Prince, continuing this battle will only cause us to lose even more soldiers. It's time to return."

"But…!"

DZING!

The prince had not been hit, rather, an arrow passed by his face, getting his cheeks cut and bleeding. The Fourth Prince looked towards the wall where a young man was standing with a bow in his hand. He stared on coldly as if saying that if the Fourth Prince doesn't retreat, the next arrow would land in his head.

Considering how far they are, the range of the arrow from Jun Min is truly unbelievable. The Fourth Prince was terribly afraid as he remembered what happened to his brother.

"We will return." He quickly announced and moved his feet in fear.

On top of the wall, one of the generals there cannot help but ask Jun Min. "Why didn't you kill him with that arrow?"

"My hand slipped." Jun Min answered carelessly. The generals only partially believed it because of how precise his arrows were before but even then, they need to accept it since it was the explanation the other party provided. Besides, with his wounded shoulder, who can claim that Jun Min is lying?

Jun Min didn't want to kill that prince yet, he still had a use for him in the future.
