Chapter 389 - Titus's Wrath

Chapter 389: Titus's Wrath

The next instant, a raging roar came out of Titus's mouth.

At the same time, Charles's Will noticed strangeness around his surroundings and frowned.

'Something is happening in Titus's soul.' Although he couldn't see his soul form, he sensed some invisible power affected his Inner World.

Soon, the surrounding living shadows merged and formed into a gigantic humanoid figure with an eerie black hood over it.

The humanoid shadow was more than seven meters tall and held an enormous scythe-like weapon in its shadowy hand.

But what shocked Charles's Will was not the gigantic figure but the energy that appeared around it.

'I feel some familiarity. Nether energy?' His illusionary eyes widened in disbelief.

But soon, he calmed down and probed further.

'No... It's nether energy without any impurities. This one appeared as a pure form of nether. Hmm, is this the Death energy? The power of Death?' He felt that was the possible explanation.

'But what confuses me more is how did he get this Death affinity? When we checked his affinity at Chester City, he had nothing like this.' Confusion appeared on his face.

'That leaves with only one possible explanation. When Daisy died, something must have happened inside his soul. His soul got affected due to an emotional breakdown? That results in Awakening of this Death affinity?' Charles's Will also noticed that his shadow affinity was merging with the Death affinity!

'Hmm, this is indeed a huge miracle. But I have a vague feeling that the World's Will might have done something in the background.' He nodded inwardly and shifted his attention towards the outside world

At that moment, Titus knelt in front of Daisy's corpse and cried loudly.

Tears continued to fell from his eyes and drenched his cheeks. At that moment, he was entirely in a vulnerable state.

Alas, Laney or the nearby silver-armored knights had no courage to attack him at this moment.

No, all of them started shivering all of a sudden.

A mysterious power oozed out of his body and started affecting the surrounding atmosphere.

Then, a strange icy aura followed and started freezing everything in its path.

If not for their abnormal physical bodies, Laney and others would have been long affected by the freezing ice layers.

'He changed into a completely different person!' Cold sweats dripped down from Laney's forehead.

Without any hesitation, she backed away few more steps and started to think about her next plan.

'What happened? How did he save himself from being turned into a distorted shadow? How did he succeed in the Rank-Up process?' Multiple questions whirled in her head.

'What should I do? Fight him? No, he is not a Rank-3 anymore.' She firmly shook her head.

'But I can't leave like this. Wait. Titus is in a defenseless state. As long as I manage to knock him out, I'll be the winner!' Such thought appeared in her mind.

She instantly turned her gaze towards the nearby mage and the silver-armored knights and signaled them to get ready.

Simultaneously, she raised her hand and was about to cast [Light Deprivation] spell but froze.

Unlike ordinary mystics, mages were a little sensitive to future-related things. Once they reach a certain level, they would see a bit of their future from time to time. Although these visions won't be as accurate as Seer's skill, they would indeed warn them about some impending danger. Laney also felt the same thing.

At that moment, a strange feeling of fear crept up to her heart. Her limbs suddenly turned sluggish, and her heart started thumping louder and faster!

'If I attack him now, I'll die for sure!' Fear gripped her heart.

While she was thinking, the silver-armored knights unsheathed their weapons and moved towards Titus from different directions.

But just as they arrive near him, an illusionary figure of a seven-meter-tall humanoid black shadow materialized about Titus's head. It held a long illusionary scythe in its hand and made a single slash.

A moment later, eight different illusionary scythes came out from the original one and moved in different directions!

The illusionary scythes passed into the silver-armored knights' bodies one by one and then disappeared.

The next instant, all the eight silver-armored knights fell on the ground and went motionless!

In truth, the illusionary scythes severed the link between their souls and their bodies and killed them in a mere second!

Only Laney and another black-robed mage stood in front of the banyan tree with a dumbfounded look on their faces.

'F*ck! We provoked a monster!'

Laney cast [Dark Wings] spell on herself and shot up towards the sky without any delay.

She knew how dangerous this monster was and decided to retreat.

'F*ck! That Tyler ended up ruining everything!' She cursed inwardly and flapped her wings at a fast speed.

Meanwhile, the other black-robed mage woke up from the shock and was about to cast a fly spell but stopped.

At that moment, he saw a blurry shadow flew past him and went pale.

'No good!'

Before he could even blink, a cold dagger appeared from behind and directly plunged it into his neck.

"I'll kill everyone!" A bone-chilling voice came out of his mouth as Titus retracted his weapon and stabbed him twice in the chest area.

After that, he sheathed the dagger and then started walking towards Daisy's corpse.

Although his appearance didn't change, the aura around his body turned cold as freezing eyes.

The pure form of death energy came from time to time and froze the nearby grass, leaves, and even the banyan tree leaves and roots.

Soon, he arrived near her, squatted down, touched her cold face, and asked.

"Why?" His voice contained pain, unwillingness, and hatred.

A strange silence appeared in his head, followed by an old man's cough.

'It's not about why, when, or who, lad. It's about strength. You failed to protect your woman-' Before Charles's Will could finish his sentence, Titus suddenly looked up at the sky and asked.

"But I'm strong enough to seek vengeance, right? I want to kill everyone who is involved in this scheme!" He said in a raging voice.

'Even if I tell you to stop, I know you wouldn't listen to my words. Go on and let your wrath out.' Charles's Will responded.

Upon hearing his words, Titus nodded his head and stood up.

After that, he turned into streaks of black shadows and disappeared from there.

In the meantime, Laney continued to fly faster and then took out a communication ring from her space ring.

She then activated it using her wisdom power and waited for the answer from the other side.

A few seconds later, an old man's voice came from the other side.

It was Andy Griffin's voice!

"What happened, Laney? Did you capture him?"

Upon hearing his words, Laney smiled bitterly and shook her head.

"No, Father. It's quite the opposite. I'm running away from that monster!"

"Monster? What do you mean?" Andy probed.

Meanwhile, Laney continued to fly higher and explained the whole incident in detail.

"This is indeed an unexpected turn of event." He paused for a moment and then added.

"Come to Baron Arwen's town soon. We should return to Iron Tower and stay there for a while."

"Will the Ancient Mage come and look for us?" Laney asked in a stiff tone.

"I don't think so. Although Baron Tyler killed Titus's lover, it's more like a feud. As long as we erase our trails, everything will be okay. And, you've to live in another plane for a decade or two, though." Andy said in a cold tone.

After that, he told her to be careful of shadows and cut off the connection.
