Chapter 349 - Immortal Kid

Chapter 349: Immortal Kid

Meanwhile, Charles led the horse into the city, entered the main road, and soon moved to a random street in the First District.

The First District had hundreds of streets and appeared vast. Because of this, the Paragons further split the First District into five sections and manage them under strict rules. If someone wants to move from one area to another, they had to get proper approval from the section mayor!

The security inside each section was also tighter than any other place Charles visited before. Patrol guards appeared in many areas, and they were constantly monitoring the surroundings all the time.

But Charles also saw many illegal actions, crimes like thieving, shoplifting, public order crime, etc.,

Upon seeing this, he couldn't help but show a deep sigh.

"There are some things that never change in any era." He muttered as he walked on the market area and entered a nearby alley.

Charles was currently planning to rent a small house and then start searing for the Red Human kid.

'I have more than 10 Chariots. Hmm, this should be more than enough for me to rent a house for a few months.' He nodded inwardly, took out a small leather pouch, and peeked into it.

A total of ten reddish crystals appeared in the pouch.

All of them were thumb-sized and appeared unique, with a symbol of a bird engraved in them.

Although they look more like elemental crystals, they were unique metals.

These crystals were the currency used by the Red Humans!

'Pawns, Chariots, and Crowns…'

Pawns Were the lowest value currency while the Crowns were the highest value currency in this Red Human territory. The Pawn crystals were paler than the Chariots, and the Crowns were brighter.

While thinking, he moved on the street road and soon started searching for a rental house.

After a few hours of search, he rented a suitable one-storied house for 8 Chariots and then moved towards his primary goal.

He first tied his horse outside the rented house, moved towards the other end of the First District, and finally arrived in front of a 3-meter tall wall.

It was a wall that separates the First District from the rest!

He then searched for a while and found an entrance towards the other side.

Although the guards asked him about his origin, he told them that he was a descendant of the Cortoner family and entered.

After that, he moved to the Second District and began to ask a few Red Humans about the crimson-haired kid.

Unlike the Red Humans in the First District, most Red Humans in the Second District were Rank-2 and Rank-3 Bloodlines Warlocks!

They were the Helpers!

Although these 'Helpers' weren't allowed to stay in the Royal District, most of them were working as guards or servants!

So, they would go there regularly and knew more about the Royal District.

Within an hour, he finally found some information about the crimson-haired kid!

'This kid is a Keeper of the Royal Library… As for his family background, no one knew much about it….' Charles frowned as he walked on the street road and soon arrived at the Royal District entrance gate.

Unlike the entrance to the Second District, there was only one person who stood at the gate!

He had an average-built body, a round face, 190 cm tall, unique scarlet eyes, crimson hair, and looked around 30 years old. He wore a plain brown shirt and pants, held an opened book in his hand, and seemed to be in the middle of reading while leaning his back against the closed metallic door.

But just as Charles walked near to the gate, he suddenly felt an invisible power wrapped around him.

The power appeared mysterious, sacred and even gave him a feeling of warmth!

'T-This… When the Ember Golem scanned me earlier, I felt this same familiar invisible power!'

At that time, he thought that those power were unique to Rank-6!

'Is this the power of Divine Spell?' Charles halted his footsteps, cast [Arcane Eyes] on himself, and analyzed the gatekeeper.

[Name: ??????

Race: Human (???)

Bloodline: ????

'Heh, he is a peak Rank-4 Bloodline Warlock, huh.' He raised his eyebrows in surprise.

He then looked at his bloodline spell names and shifted his attention towards the Divine Spells section.

Meanwhile, the gatekeeper also closed his book and stared at him in surprise.

"A half-paragon? Moreover, a young woman? Which family do you belong to?" He asked in a calm voice.

"Cortoner Family." An instant response came out of Charles's mouth as he started walking towards the Paragon.

On the other hand, the gatekeeper nodded his head, took out a unique badge, and showed it to him.

"30 Crowns for one time visit. With this, you can stay there for three days. If you don't have the right amount, you can go back now." He said in a casual tone and waited for him to pay.

In the meantime, Charles got stunned for a moment.

But soon, he woke up from the shock and shook his head.

"I don't have enough money. But I've enough strength." Saying so, he waved his hand and released his wisdom power.

The next instant, the gatekeeper's expression changed drastically.

He felt some invisible power came from the half-paragon and clashed against his own!

'She already broke the bloodline shackle? This is a big surprise for our royal faction.' He hurriedly retracted his wisdom power and spoke in a surprised tone.

"Welcome to the Royal District, young lady. It's rare for a half-paragon to break the bloodline shackle at this young age." He paused for a moment and then added.

"I should've noticed your real strength, but it seems I need more training. So, what is your Name?"

"Hanna," Charles answered calmly.

Meanwhile, the gatekeeper nodded his head and introduced himself.

"I'm Reed from Vernize family. So, did your family members know about your arrival?"

Upon hearing his words, Charles gave him a suspicious glanced and shook his head.

"They knew nothing about me. In truth, I came to this city for another purpose." Saying so, he took a step forward, walked towards him, and asked him a strange question.

"Have you ever been to the Royal Library, mister?"

Upon hearing his words, Reed raised his eyebrows in confusion and was about to respond but stopped.

At that moment, he noticed that he suddenly forgot anything related to the Royal Library!

A strange foreboding sensation appeared in his mind.

But before he could think further, Charles smiled amusingly, conjured a realistic illusion of the Red Human kid, and asked the following question.

"Do you know anything about this kid?"

Meanwhile, Reed subconsciously turned his gaze towards the illusionary image and soon began to think about the Red Human kid.

At that moment, information about the Red Human kid appeared in his mind and soon got enveloped in a mysterious purple flame.

'Oh? Casper… The Keeper of Secrets and the Immortal kid… He is a blind Red Human and has a mysterious past. He is working as a Keeper before Reed was even born and stay in the library. Many Paragons tried to search about his past, but none succeed. Reed is suspecting that Sacred Humans are the ones who keep this information confidential. But what's more mysterious is that the Red Human kid only has the strength of a normal mortal. As for how he obtained the immortal gift, not even a normal Paragon knew this…. Hmm, the Rank-5 Paragons might know something about him.' Charles skimmed through the information and shifted his attention towards the blank-looking Reed.

Then, he shook his head, enveloped his body in a crimson flame, and disappeared from there.

Meanwhile, Reed woke up from the strange blank state, released his wisdom power, and searched the surroundings.

But at that moment, he forgot about the person he was looking for!

On the other hand, Charles reappeared in the Royal District and looked around.

Simultaneously, more than ten Paragons noticed his sudden arrival and were about to warn others but stopped.

Charles smiled at everyone and spoke.

"Please forget everything about me."

Saying so, he took a step forward and started walking towards the right side path.

Meanwhile, the surrounding Paragons also forgot about his sudden arrival and moved on their own.

After walking for a while, Charles made a right turn, entered the main road, and searched for the library.

He scanned the surrounding mansion buildings and soon zeroed his attention on a tall building.

The building was more than 300 meters tall and appeared warm and cozy. It had been built with red bricks and had white brick decorations.

Tall, rectangular windows brightened up the building and added to the building in a fairly asymmetrical pattern. There seemed to be more than six floors appeared in the building, and the roof was flat and covered with seagrass.

Charles noticed that even the ordinary houses in this Royal District appeared to be made of unique materials.

'Hmm, it's the Royal Library.'

Nodding inwardly, he took a step forward and started walking towards the particular building.
