Chapter 1078 – Zhou Kexin’s new job

Zhou Kexin suddenly interrupts Feng Yu’s story, telling him that she got offline and logged off. Feng Yu was disappointed, as he had not finished his story.

The frustrated Feng Yu passed his account to the person he hired to level his character and logged off.

Feng Yu left his apartment and went to Zhou Kexin’s university again. He wants to enter but hesitated.

What should Feng Yu say if they meet?

Zhou Kexin is an assertive person, and if Feng Yu appears in front of her again, it might make the situation worse.

But Feng Yu did not notice he was seen by a girl as he leaves the campus.

“Kexin, Kexin, guess who I saw when I return?” Zhou Kexin’s roommate, Xiao Wen, asked excitedly.

Although Zhou Kexin is feeling down, she still forces herself to joke with Xiao Wen. “Who? Andy Lau?”

“Not Andy Lau. It’s that handsome guy who keeps looking at you. Can you remember that guy who sat on the bench outside of our dormitory?”

Zhou Kexin stood up immediately and asked. “Where is he?”

Zhou Kexin regretted asking this question and sat down again. What will she do if she knows where he is? Go and meet him?

“You want to see him? It’s too late. When I entered the school gates, I saw him leaving. That handsome guy had a depress-look on his face, like Tony Leung Chiu-wai.” Xiao Wen replied excitedly.

He came and left again?!

Zhou Kexin had complicated feelings after she heard what Xiao Wen said. She is happy, disappointed, confused, and dejected. Maybe it’s good for him to leave and not meet again. This might be the best ending for them.

“Kexin, Kexin, what happened? Are you listening?”

“Ah? I’m listening.”

“Then let’s go. What are you waiting for?” Xiao Wen dragged Zhou Kexin out.

“Where are we going?” Zhou Kexin asked. She was not paying attention to Xiao Wen earlier.

“Look at the time! We are going to have our dinner!”

The next day, a few people entered the university to give out flyers for intern reporters. Those that have internship experiences will have an advantage.

Xiao Wen heard about this and immediately inform Zhou Kexin. She felt with something to occupy Zhou Kexin’s mind, she might return to her old self.

“Xiao Wen, what is this company? Is it reliable? I heard Miaoyu had gone for an internship interview and was cheated 200 RMB. That company also disappear shortly after that.” Zhou Kexin asked suspiciously.

Zhou Kexin had never heard of this company before. Is this a fraud?

“Ah… didn’t you see the head of the recruiters was standing beside our school’s director? Furthermore, we can choose not to pay for anything. Look at what they wrote on the flyer. They are looking for someone who can take hardships, professional, and interview skills. It is the same as what our teachers said.”

“But we don’t have any internship experiences.”

“I don’t have, but you have. Didn’t you work as an intern for that Hong Kong Medical Magazine? Although you took a long leave from work because of your medical condition, you did an internship there. If you succeed, you might get a job there after you graduate. Look here… if you are sent overseas, lodging and meals will be provided, and you will get an extra allowance!”

Zhou Kexin was also interested. More importantly, she is afraid she might meet the ‘Second most handsome person on earth’ again when she plays games. Maybe getting a job can make her forget about him.

“Alright. Let’s go and try.”

……

“You are Zhou Kexin? I saw you had worked as an intern with a medical magazine before. But you are not a medical student, right?”

“Yes, but I am a reporter. I was also lucky to get hired.” Zhou Kexin sat nervously at the interview.

“Alright. Can you tell me more about your experience at that magazine agency?”

Zhou Kexin paused for a few seconds and said. “I fell sick after I conducted my first interview, and had only written three articles. After I recovered, I resigned.

The interviewer was stunned. That means this work experience is as good as nothing.

But the higher-ups had instructed the interviewer that this girl must be hired. The interviewer nodded. “I admire your honesty. As reporters, honesty is a virtue, and news must be according to facts. You had surprised me with your answer.”

Zhou Kexin brightens up. The interviewer sounds like he is going to hire her.

You mentioned that you resigned from the Medical Magazine agency due to your medical condition. Will your condition affect your work in the future?”

“No. I had fully recovered and will not have any relapse.” Zhou Kexin firmly replied.

“I saw that you are applying for the role of a part-time intern, and can only work during the weekends and school holidays. That means you cannot travel on job assignments, right?” This intern only wants to work on weekends. What are the higher-ups thinking by hiring her? What can she do if she is hired?

“If necessary, I can apply for leave from my university, and my school is very supportive.” Most universities are supportive of their students’ practical training.

“What do you think about the benefits and salary of this job?”

“It’s fine. I am only looking for an opportunity to gain experience. Hopefully, I can remain in the company after I graduate.” This reply is what the teachers at the university taught them.

“Our company is a magazine agency, and we produce both hardcopies and softcopies of our magazine. Do you know how to use a PC? How good are your PC skills?”

“I knew the basics and had learned Office software. But I am not very good at it.” Zhou Kexin replied.

Hiss….

The interviewer is speechless. This girl has nothing special at all.

“What about your English standards? I am not referring to what you learned in school. Can you read and understand English documents, and converse with others?”

“I can read English newspapers and books, and knows basic conversation. But I might not understand certain professional words.”

The interviewer nodded. At least, no other interviewees dare to say they can speak English other than this little girl.”

“What other skills do you have?”

“I can type fast and is trained in calligraphy.

“Alright. Go back and wait for our call. Is this number your dormitory’s phone number? We can also reach you with this pager number, right?”

“The phone number is my dormitory’s number, and this pager number belongs to my roommate. You can reach me through these two numbers.”

Three days later, Zhou Kexin’s roommate gave Zhou Kexin a number to return call. After hanging up, Zhou Kexin jumps up excitedly. “I pass the interview! I am going to be Wind and Rain Media’s intern reporter!”

At the same time, Hu Ran reported to Feng Yu. “Boss, the person you mentioned is now our company’s internship reporter!”

Tony Leung Chiu-wai
