Chapter 385 - Mars Is Gone?

Chapter 385: Mars Is Gone?

Jiang He was left ashen faced.

Was his psychological endurance that weak?

Hu Mei had merely cried out in surprise once, and his hand slipped?

“Well, it’s not my fault. If anything, it’s Hu Mei’s fault for suddenly crying out…” Jiang He watched as the 100 Heavenly Thunderbolt Hand Grenades that were tied together dropped out of the skies, before growling, “Move!”

Whoosh!

In virtually the same instant when he spoke, Hu Mei had already picked him up and was dashing to outer space.

While it appeared to have been a long process, it merely took several instances… and even if Jiang He had the ability to retrieve the hand grenades, how could he be bothered then?

At almost the same instant they dashed for outer space, he turned to look at the bundle of hand grenades dropping out of the sky, and could not help sighing…

His plan had failed.

If he had thrown the bombs, the hand grenades would have landed in the middle of the Sky Demon legion. However, for their champions, a free-falling object was too slow, and they definitely had the ability to detonate it from the distance.

***

On Mars, the True Immortal Sky Demon named Molona frowned slightly as he looked up at the skies.

He had been giving a speech when he sensed an unprecedented threat.

His profound immortal will promptly swept out… and he soon saw a daemon fox fleeing while carrying a full-fledged Mahayana human.

“A full-fledged Heavenly Immortal? That fox is really quick, too… With the Star Map still sealing the space outside the humans’ homeworld, I can’t cast warp techniques here and would have a hard time catching up.”

As that thought flashed in his mind, Molona gave up on a pursuit.

His eyes then fell upon the 100 Heavenly Thunderbolt Hand Grenades that were tied together.

“What is that?”

That was his first thought.

“A concealed weapon?”

“Blast it!”

That was Molona’s second thought.

Still, he quickly resisted the second thought, sneered, and clasped his hands behind his back. He stared straight at the bundle of grenades as it dropped out of the sky, and declared loudly, “Warriors, you need not panic—it’s just two interlopers!”

“Now is the time to serve your forebears!”

“Assume formation and advance upon Earth!”

His voice resounded, and he did not even glance as the skies as he grasped from the distance and seized the bundle of hand grenades. He had intended to use that for a demonstration of power by directly crushing it, and telling the many warriors of the Sky Demon legion…

That all that was left on the homeworld of humans right now was a bunch of cannon fodders!

Therefore, after he caught the Heavenly Thunderbolt Hand Grenades, Molona laughed coldly and pressed his fingers firmly…

In the next instant, time seemed to have frozen.

A terrible flash of thunder erupted out of the 100 Heavenly Thunderbolt Hand Grenades he crushed.

The flash instantly consumed Molona, the Sky Demon Lord, and the four Heavenly Immortal-tier Sky Demons who had been closest to him as it quaked heaven and earth… then, it was the dozens of Mahayana champions and hundreds of Sufferance champions…

The Sky Demons’ champions were naturally standing next Molona as he gave his speech, and that was why they were all consumed by that flash even before they could react.

They had no idea what happened even after they had died.

What was actually going on?

The horrific explosive flash did not stop either, and in several seconds, the entire Sky Demon legion was consumed… and the eruption continued to unfurl across every direction.

Kaboom!

All of Mars quaked.

***

“What the f*ck!”

As he was being carried over Hu Mei’s back in outer space, Jiang He turned around to look back at Mars, and could not help mouthing an expletive right away.

Naturally, his voice could not conduct since there was no air in space.

Only the corner of his lips moved as he mouthed the expletive, and there was no sound to be heard. Likewise, he could not hear the planet-shattering rumble after the Heavenly Thunderbolt Hand Grenades detonated, and could only observe the sight of the frightening explosion.

But in Jiang He’s mind, a rumble still could be heard.

Because he was standing in outer space, Mars was naturally a giant spherical body in Jiang He’s vision.

Even so, at that very moment, that massive spherical body was quaking violently… there were earthquakes and volcanos erupting violently, and minutes later…

Boom!

With a violent quaking, Mars split into pieces, and its debris were sent flying across every direction.

“Did… Did I…”

“Did I just blow up Mars?”

As if thunderstruck, Jiang He stared dumbly at the sight of the planet exploding, feeling as if he was caught in a dreamworld.

He flipped his palm and took out one Heavenly Thunderbolt Hand Grenade.

Gulp.

His Adam’s apple bobbed as he gulped.

Is this thing really that powerful?

It was just something I made up, but it is still that powerful?

But come to think of it, since he had blown up Mars, would the Sky Demons’ True Immortal Champion be blown up as well?

What a shame.

Since there were so many Sky Demon champions, they must have carried inestimable hoards of treasures… and he was getting no spoils with that explosion.

“Master, Star Core! Mars has actually birthed a Star Core!” Hu Mei suddenly cried out in surprise, and her body was gone from Jiang He’s vision in a silver flash. When she appeared again, she was already arrived close to one of the pieces of debris left after Mars exploded.

Roar!

The hundred-meter long Nine Tailed Fox reared its head and bellowed in rage, and the silhouette of an even larger white fox appeared. It quickly widened its jaw and inhaled, drawing a flashing ‘pearl’ that was hidden behind the debris.

Jiang He did not even react in time.

Star Core?

What Star Core?

Even before he could think further, Hu Mei had returned to him. However, her aura had now withered a little, clearly because the godly technique she used just now had taken an exceeding toll upon her.

She then opened her mouth and exhaled, breathing out the shining pearl which expanded up to fifty kilometers. Hovering like a cosmic body before Jiang He, it crashed over every direction as it struggled to fly away, but was restrained tightly by Hu Mei’s profound immortal strength and will.

“Master!”

“Quick, suppress the Star Core!”

Why me?

Jiang He’s mystic energy surged as it pressed towards the Star Core, only to find that his mystic energy was firmly deflected by the Star Core, sending Jiang He flying backwards for fifty kilometers and making him vomit blood.

“What the hell!”

That thing could fight back?

“Doggone it! I already blew up a True Immortal! Do you think I would let you walk all over me?!”

As he cursed, he flew forward and whipped out five Heavenly Thunderbolt Hand Grenades, aiming it straight at the Star Core as he warned, “Move, or I’ll blow you up too.”

Oom!

The Star Core shuddered as if it understood Jiang He’s words, and quieted right then.

Hu Mei gaped.

The exchange left her astonished… fearful that Jiang He would really blow up the Star Core. However, she quickly said, “No, Master! Do not blow it up!”

After all, the Star Core was too valuable.

Each was worth a premium-grade immortal item, and would only grow in living planets… Logically speaking, there should be countless Star Cores since there were countless living planets around the universe, but life existed on most living planets.

Once the Star Core was removed, the entire planet would rapidly wither before dying off completely, which was equal to massacring all living beings on it.

And the stronger one was, the more concerned they would be about the bad karma that heinous actions would invoke.

Killing every being on a living planet was indeed too evil, and so much so that rarely would anyone target the Star Core of a living planet.

But Mars was different, since it was a dried-up dead planet…

No, it was not dead planet since it had birthed a Star Core, and life might appear there in the future… but now, Mars was gone, which was why the potential existence of any being and civilization in the future would merely be a dream.

Meanwhile, Jiang He put away the Heavenly Thunderbolt Hand Grenades when he saw that the Star Core had calmed down, sneering, “Good, nothing is better since you know how to listen… by the way, what is that Star Core thing, Hu Mei?”

Hu Mei, having assumed human form, offered Jiang He an explanation, leaving him frowning and at a loss for words. “You’ve been telling me how valuable and how it is born… but what good is it?”

“Master, the Star Core is the cradle of life, birthed in the planet itself. If studied, the Dao which gestated within would greatly rewards even True Immortals.”

Hu Mei answered. “Moreover, Star Cores are a vital material in refining soul treasures.”

“Oh? Soul treasures, huh?”

Soul treasures were superior to immortal items, although those were extremely rare. Innate soul treasures spoke off in myths were forged during Creation and wielded by ancient superior beings… afterwards, soul treasures became extremely difficult to craft, and not even Golden Immortals would possess acquired soul treasures.

“Master, you’re a grandmaster in item crating. You might be able to forge an acquired soul treasure for yourself in the future with this Star Core!”

Excitement showed all over Hu Mei’s face, while Jiang He said, “That thing seemed intelligent and it understood my threat. Wouldn’t forging it as an item be too cruel?”

“How could Star Cores be intelligent? Since it contains Dao, it would be a alert against certain dangers. It knows that you would blow it up, which is why it turned quiet, Master.” Hu Mei explained.

Delighted at that, Jiang He laughed. “That’s better… but forget item crafting. Let’s use plant it!”

Would he get a planet from panting a Star Core?

What a coincidence. He had a sun and a moon in his farm, and only lacks stars.

Meanwhile, at the Martial Arts Department(MAD) in Jingdu City, Wang Hou suddenly froze just as returned to his office and was about to call for another emergency conference.

“What is it, Minister Wang?”

Lin Tianzheng’s heart raced while his face twitched, and he promptly asked, “Are the Sky Demons invading already?”

Wang Hou said nothing and remained stunned.

After the other leaders of the MAD continued pressing him, Wang Hou finally came to his senses. Rubbing his temples, he flashed a pained smile and said, “Send word to cancel our previous arrangements… Everyone can now take a break and do whatever they want.”

Noting the confusion on the others’ faces, Wang Hou then said, “Mars is gone.”

“Huh?”

Lin Tianzheng did a double take, while everyone else was left stunned.

“Jiang He had blown up Mars… directly. The Sky Demons’ legion of millions and their champions are all… most likely dead!”
