Chapter 108: Successful Ambush

Boom, boom, boom…

It was just dawn, but as the tide rose to a certain height down the cliff, a life-and-death battle between two tribes had already begun.

There were about forty Sludge Monsters at this moment, more than there had been yesterday. They must’ve directed some of their compatriots to arrive by consuming the power of providence and the Souls of Civilization last night.

But clearly, it wasn’t too meaningful, as their attack was much less powerful than yesterday.

It was mostly because the “ammunitions” in their storage, particularly the red, black, and yellow special ones, had been greatly consumed in the previous day. They could only use common stones as cannonballs now.

The common stones were clearly much less threatening. After all, no matter how fast they were, their blast would be quickly absorbed by water the moment they hit it, and they would lose their destructiveness!

On the other hand, while the Mirage Monsters couldn’t attack remotely, they had clearly developed some defensive items.

For example, they had super bubbles which were so tensile that they could deflect the stones and even block flames.

Some Mirage Monsters even pressed on against the Sludge Monsters’ crazy bombardment while covering their heads with their deceased partners.

Obviously, the Mirage Monsters were determined to take down the Sludge Monsters’ settlement. After all, they were a special species, and they could hardly defeat the other land tribes.

The Sludge Monsters were likely the only option for them to upgrade their settlement!

In such an intense battle, the Sludge Monsters finally ran out of ammunition. A few of them were left behind to continue the remote shooting, but all the others charged at the sea for a final melee combat.

In the melee combat, the Mirage Monsters were finally able to counterattack!

In the water, when a Sludge Monster charged to five meters from a Mirage Monster, a shell as smooth as a round plate was suddenly thrown off from the Mirage Monster’s body that was like a giant oyster. After the two alien tribes started a massive melee battle, twenty soldiers of the Twin Dragon Mount charged out of the fog in the valley while holding sabers, harpoons, and other weapons and with Sludge Monster skins covering their heads!

A Sludge Monster, which was moving out whatever left of their cannonballs, sensed something and was about to turn around and look at the back of the battlefield.

A white bone sword pierced through its heart that was beating as if drumming.

Next, Ji Ye unsheathed the Black Serpent Sword and jumped at the next Sludge Monster in the water.

Maybe because he had fused the Flood Dragon Bloodline, he found the Black Serpent Sword even handier than before. Also, since this sword could control water currents, he didn’t feel any resistance at all when he wielded it in the water.

Furthermore, he could also let his body control water currents by consuming the Flood Dragon Blood in his body. He could even breathe easily and walk as if on steady ground in the water.

The Sludge Monsters’ settlement was protected by the power of providence just like the Twin Dragon Mount was.

Theoretically speaking, if there was enough power of providence, even the most powerful attack couldn’t break the settlement.

Finally, after stabbing his Black Serpent Sword dozens of times without any restriction, Ji Ye finally wore out the power of providence at the Sludge Monsters’ settlement core.

Then, he stabbed again and destroyed the enemy’s last protection.

Instantly, a great amount of brown power of providence concentrated at the center into a “providence core” that was similar to a Sludge Monster’s heart. Ji Ye grabbed it.

Even though it had been grabbed, the providence core that looked like a Sludge Monster’s heart beat heavily as if it were expressing the fury of the tribe.

After that, Ji Ye commanded all the soldiers to return with him with a gesture.

That was because all the soldiers around him suddenly slowed down, before they all brandished their weapons and came at him!
