Dysfunctional - An Assassin's Guide to Reincarnating in Another World

Chapter 487 486 - Rematch(Part 1)

Chapter 487 486 – Rematch(Part 1)

  Point-of-View: Damien Romer

———————————————————————————

I’m finally back, after all these years…in the village I grew up in in this world. It’s changed quite a bit, with Light Crystal lampposts lighting up the paths, music playing in the background, and most notably, farming vehicles like tractors and plowers, probably powered by Mana.

I recognize a lot of the people, though they look so much older. Well, that’s only natural, it’s not like they can halt their aging like I have, after all.

Oh, and I’ve already started with killing them, fully visible and without using transform or anything. Ahh, the looks of shock and confusion on their faces is absolutely priceless.

”D-damn you, you rotten shit…how dare you use Damien’s face like this!?” Snapped one of the farmers I’d cornered.

What was his name again? Don’t remember, I can just vaguely recall that he was nice to me…well, not that that’s saying much, everyone was nice to me, I was such a sweet kid, after all.

”Why shouldn’t I use my own face? What, have you idiots still not figured out that I framed Scipe? Well, guess you wouldn’t have, huh,” I responded with a laugh, as I jammed my trident into his face, piercing his eyes and then tearing his head open with a violent twist.

This is so much fun! I’ve wanted to kill all these people for quite a while now, and finally getting to do so is damn cathartic.

I let out a chuckle as I fired out a barrage of Elemental and Obliteration Magic blasts, screams ringing out all around me as everyone around got torn apart or eradicated, the rich scent of blood thick in the air.

I sighed contentedly as I zipped across and grabbed a young girl by the throat, lifting her up before slicing her stomach open slowly with a wind blade, a delightful scream of agony erupting from her lips.

”That’s it, scream your heart out,” I grinned, as I dropped her to the ground and sliced off her fingers bit by bit, whipping my trident across like a pendulum, shortening the fingers on her right hand segment by segment, my foot firmly planted on her torso to keep her from scrambling away.

I then spun around and slashed my trident across as a fireball came shooting towards me, to see a terrified young boy behind me, tears running down his eyes as he held his palm up in my direction.

”L-leave her alone, you monst-…!” He began, before I shot towards him and slashed his head off.

”Come on, don’t interrupt my fun, that’s a real dick move, dude,” I sighed disdainfully.

I then walked over to a nearby tractor, lifted it up and flung it across towards where a small group of people were running away, eliciting cries of panic from them, which quickly faded as they got crushed by the heavy machinery and burst like old ketchup packets.

I flew up with a smile to get a bird’s eye view and hunt down the stragglers…yeah, I could use my sensory technique, but where’s the fun in that?

I then rained down a barrage of Elemental Magic blasts down at the scrambling people below, burning them, electrocuting them, tearing the apart, crushing them, a delightful cacophony of screams ringing out melodically as I found myself starting to hum.

This is really nice…this drab, peaceful little village thrown into utter chaos in a matter of minutes, or however long it’s been since I got here. I dunno, I’ve been having so much fun that I haven’t really kept track of the time, this is an absolute blast!

I’ll raze this place down to the ground till there’s nothing left, and then-…suddenly, I stiffened as I felt something start to pierce into my shoulders from behind, a presence behind me.

I quickly turned intangible and teleported away, turning my gaze over to where I’d just been, grimacing as I saw who it was…Shiro Blanc. Oops, guess I should’ve kept track of time after all, I might’ve spend a bit too much time here.

”Time for a rematch. This time, you won’t get away,” He remarked icily, before holding up a Spell Card and activating it, forming a barrier around us.

He was wearing those same glasses from back when I attacked Abyss, and I can’t rule out the possibility that it’s been upgraded. He was wearing that watch too, probably in case his glasses get destroyed…so long as I’m inside this barrier, he can keep track of my position with that watch.

He’s also wearing a ring that I’m pretty sure he wasn’t wearing before, with a blue crystal in it…hm, oh yeah, if I remember right, Misen Ragiu was wearing that before he blew himself up, does that crystal keep the wearer from being affected by my Nullification?

”You really think so, huh?” I responded with a smirk, as I activated my Nullification to test things out…but nothing happened.

Tch, looks like this barrier takes my Nullification into account, it’s completely unaffected. Not good, this could be troublesome. I don’t think I can nullify his powers either, not while he’s wearing that ring.

What kind of crystal is that, anyway? Hm, or maybe it’s just a red herring…it could be some kind of enchantment instead, like the anti-enchantment spell that was commonly used, this might be some kind of anti-nullification enchantment.

What a pain, I have to admit, they’ve come up with some good countermeasures against me. Well, it has been over twenty years, I guess it’s not exactly surprising, huh?

Well, it doesn’t matter…I’m now stronger than he is, I can do this. I unleashed my True Anima, before activating Berserker as I transformed, letting out an aggressive growl as he stared back calmly.

”If you really think a technique as volatile as Berserker is enough to beat me, then you’re sorely mistaken,” He smirked tauntingly.

”Huh? Don’t fuck with me…let’s see how cocky you are once I have you at my mercy!” I snarled in response, as I teleported right behind him and drove my trident towards his back.

He responded by teleporting out of my sight, before I felt a strong force strike my back and sent me zipping through the air. He then teleported again, above me, and slammed his fists down onto my chest, cracking my ribs before sending me rapidly plummeting down and hitting the ground with a devastating impact.

I growled in anger as I started to heal myself and stood back up with a grimace of pain, springing back and firing out an Obliteration Magic blast as he teleported in front of me, which he swiftly countered with an Obliteration blast of his own, canceling my attack out.

As I shot towards him at top speed and drove my trident at his head, grazing the side of his face as he evaded, he grabbed my wrist and aimed an Obliteration blast at me up close, which I quickly turned intangible to avoid as he fired it.

Undettered, he formed a dome of earth around us, covering us in pitch black darkness as he formed a massive, swirling Obliteration blast around where I was.

Tch, he’s trying to exploit the weakness of my intangibility, and this darkness is to keep me from teleporting!

But that won’t be enough to stop me! What an idiot, does he think a wall of earth can keep me contained!?

As I shot towards the edge of the wall…I didn’t reach it. Huh? What’s going on!? Damn it, it’s too dark to see, but I know for sure that the dome he formed wasn’t very big!

”Sucks not being able to see in the dark, doesn’t it? I bet you’re confused right now, as to why you aren’t reaching the wall of the dome…keep trying to figure it out, take your time,” Came Shiro’s voice, sounding amused.

”You think this is funny, you bastard!?” I snapped viciously.

”Yup, it’s hilarious.”

I’ll kill him, I’ll kill him dead!

How the hell is he doing this!? Wait…could he be expanding the dome each time I get close to the wall? Damn it…I can’t stay intangible for much longer!

In that case…I’ll force him to open it up!

I let out a roar as I blasted out several Obliteration Magic blasts all around me, and sure enough, I hit the wall of the dome, several gaps appearing and light pouring in, and as I caught a glimpse of the outside, I wasted no time in teleporting out.

The dome then fell apart, as Shiro teleported a few meters ahead of me with a smirk on his face.

”Wow, I can’t believe such a simple trap almost worked. That Berserker technique really does dumb down the user, doesn’t it?” He scoffed in amusement.

”You damn bastard…I’ll fucking kill you, you hear me!?” I yelled furiously, as I shot towards him in a blind rage…
