“Have you seen him?” Alicia asked as she walked inside Aditya’s bedroom while holding her pillow.

Julia and Riya were already inside his bedroom and were waiting for him to come.

“I have no idea where he went. Before he left, he told me that he had some work to do.” Julia said while combing her long purple hair. She was sitting in front of the vanity table.

The Goddess was in her Pajama Nightgown.

Unlike Alicia or Riya, her Pajama Nightgown was less revealing and more modest.

Compared to her, Riya and Alicia’s nightgowns were more revealing and very bold.

Alicia looked at Riya who also shrugged her shoulders. “I have no idea either. I haven’t seen him since eating dinner.”

“Though I could sense his Aura in the middle of the Azure City. He must have something to do there.” Hearing this Alicia nodded her head before she walked inside the room and then sat on the couch. Since Aditya wasn’t here yet, Alicia decided to read till he returned.

“Aditya must have gone to interrogate those 19 criminals that the guards caught this afternoon.” Lilith mysteriously appeared in the bedroom. It was as if she had teleported or appeared out of thin air. Not even Riya was able to sense presence until she revealed herself.

Riya and Alicia were startled when Lilith mysteriously appeared in their bedroom.

Seeing Lilith, Alicia looked at the bedroom door. After entering, she made sure to lock the door from inside. Yet, Lilith was somehow here.

‘Why I am even surprised? Before retirement, this woman used to be known as the Strongest and deadliest Assassin in the whole world.’ Alicia thought in her mind.

Lilith lay on the bed next to Riya while staring at the ceiling.

Julia paid attention to what Lilith said. Hearing her words, she became curious and asked. “What kind of crimes those criminals have committed?” If it was a normal crime, then Aditya never would have gone to interrogate those criminals after having dinner. This means whatever those criminals have done must have been very serious. Something so serious that even the Emperor of the Istarin Empire had to go to the prison to meet the prisoners to question them.

“I heard that these criminals had taken the Mana Hearts of the dead Istarin soldiers from their graves. After being chased for many hours, the guards were finally able to catch them alive.” If Lilith wanted, then she could have gathered more information about this case but she was too lazy.

Why work so hard when she knows that Aditya will tell her everything later?

“Now That’s surprising. Given the reputation of the Istarin Empire and especially Aditya’s reputation after he had defeated the Hydra in front of everyone, I thought everyone would be scared and wouldn’t want to get on the bad side of the Empire.” Alicia said in a surprised tone.

“That’s not the only surprising thing that we saw today,” Lilith replied to Alicia.

“Today, we have found out that there is someone who is pretending to be the Goddess of Light. This Goddess is helping people with their personal as well as social issues. We have heard nothing but positive words from everyone’s mouths about this mysterious Goddess.” Hearing this Riya and Julia exchanged glances.

Alicia closed the book that she was reading. Since this mysterious Goddess has suddenly become much more interesting to her than reading.

“Tell us more about this Goddess…..!!” All the girls surrounded Lilith looking very curious about this mysterious Goddess.

‘What is this place?’ Sitting in front of the legendary Dragon Monarch, Daniel was terrified. It wasn’t just because of the Aura of the Dragon Monarch but it was also because of the gore things that he saw on the steel table and also around the small interrogation room.

Body pieces were lying around the room. Some gore things which are mixed with blood were on the table. Just seeing these things, Daniel felt like vomiting in disgust.

The Emperor’s face was covered in blood.

And behind him, there stood a figure whose body was hidden in the darkness. Only his glowing eyes are killed with killing intent could be seen.

Daniel was smart enough to guess what had happened in this room before he was brought in.

‘If I refuse to speak, then I will be killed…!!’ Daniel wiped the sweat from his forehead. He tried his best to take long breaths to calm himself. Yet regardless of what he did, his heart did not stop pounding. His legs and arms were shaking in distress.

“Age 21…..! Became a rogue cultivator at a very young age. Father and mother were killed by Magic Animals. You are the last member of your family.” Daniel slowly nodded his head while staring down.

He wasn’t staring at the gore things that were on the table. He was staring at his arms. Because he felt terrified. He felt terrified when he stared at the Dragon Monarch who was looking at him. He felt terrified of those red glowing eyes that seemed to be the goddess of a hungry beast.

“Raise your head…..!!” Nathan commanded.

Daniel slightly trembled but he obeyed. As he looked up, he saw those terrifying glowing Crimson eyes looking at him.

“You should know clearly why we have brought you here in this room.” Daniel once again nodded his head.

“And you should have guessed what is going to happen to you if you refused to give answers to our questions.” This time Daniel didn’t nod his head. He had understood that Nathans’ words were a threat to him. Nathan was warning him for his own good.

If he chose to remain silent then he was going to die. .

‘I don’t want to die. I want to live…..!!!’ Daniel had a strong will to live.

Unlike others, his heart wasn’t that strong. His resolve wasn’t strong enough.

Aditya patiently waited for Daniel to speak. If Daniel took the same path as Jack and Ethan took then he was going to be tortured by the guards for the entire night. And then Aditya was going to use Lilith to charm him and get more information out.

Daniel was afraid of death.

The thought of closing his eyes forever terrified him.

The thought of experiencing pain made his heart fill with fear.

“He is the one who commands shadows,”

Hearing this Aditya and Nathan exchanged a glance.

“Who is he?” Nathan once again asked while Aditya stared at Nathan without even blinking his eyes. As if he was afraid that he would miss out on something very important.

At the same time, Daniel felt that the tension in the room had reached an all-time peak. He started feeling discomfort in his chest. He was having difficulty in breathing. He was feeling suffocated by this invisible pressure.

Huff…!! Huff….!!

Aditya and Nathan observed that Daniel’s breathing had become rapid. His breath was short and very fast.

“The king’s shadow lies longest at the empire’s dusk.”

Once again Nathan and Aditya looked at each other. This time it was Aditya who asked the question. “Who is he?” Aditya was very serious.

Daniel was about to reply but then he had a thought in his mind. ‘If an answer now then even if I am not killed by them, He will definitely kill me. And the pain will be 100 times worse. I don’t want to feel pain.’

The cruel things that he saw in the past done by ‘He’ began to resurface in his mind.

Aditya and Nathan noticed Daniel’s breathing had become even more rapid now.

“Daniel, calm down….!!” Nathan knew that this wasn’t a good thing. He tried to calm Daniel but Daniel was lost in his thoughts and didn’t hear Nathan.

‘Regardless of which side I choose, I am destined to die. It’s better to end things so that I could least have a quick death.’

Daniel’s eyes rolled back. “Daniel…!! Wake up…!!” Nathan appeared in front of Daniel and repeatedly called out his name while shaking his shoulders.

Aditya observed Daniel calmly for a few seconds before he realized what Daniel was about to do.

“Nathan, he is about to end his life. Stop him….!!!” Without wasting a second, Nathan hit Daniel in the neck.

Daniel ended up losing his consciousness.

For a few seconds, the whole interrogation room fell into deep silence. Both Aditya and Nathan thought of the two sentences that Daniel spoke about as the main culprit. From his words, it now had been confirmed that there was a mastermind behind this all.

And the Mastermind was a male since he referred to him as ‘He’.

“Your Majesty, shall we continue?” Nathan asked.

Aditya shook his head. “Let’s stop for today.”

Aditya turned to the two guards. “Take Daniel back to his cell. Monitor him closely. Make sure that he doesn’t try to end his life again.”

“Yes, Sir…..!!”

“Also, do not speak of the things that happened in the interrogation room today.” Seeing Aditya’s warning gaze, the two guards felt terrified. Both of them hurriedly nodded their heads.

“Tomorrow, I will continue this.” Aditya was going to bring Lilith with him.

“Also make sure to clean everything in this room.”
