Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 2434 Destination Change?

Chapter 2434 Destination Change?

Listening to the phoenix bloodline women and Mistress Zahara, or rather, Flamerose, Davis couldn't help but smile blandly.

The way he thought, the identity Feng Chu was associated with the Aurora Cloud Gate since the Blue Luan Immortal was the only one who could vouch for his identity. She had followed him and Daisy, or rather, Evelynn, for hours.

How could she not know of him?

Therefore, his mind naturally thought of using the Aurora Cloud Gate since the Blue Luan Immortal could attest to Feng Chu and his missing wife's identity, but here he was, somehow forcing an event to rise up.

Did Flamerose want to leave the Fire Phoenix Clan using this chance and come with him to know more about what happened?

In that case, he felt like he could make some compromise but still wanted to badly return to the Nine-Treasure Immortal Ordeal Palace.

Soon, he was invited as a guest, no, placed under house arrest because Mistress Zahara wanted him to board the flying boat. For Flamerose, he could understand why she wanted him together, but for the others, he felt that they might want to see if he was really the owner of the recruitment plate or if it was something that he had stolen during his journey.

They didn't provoke him with words, but their gazes sure did say that they didn't believe him yet.

From the waterfall basin, they had to go hundreds of kilometers before they arrived at Mistress Zahara's mansion. It was a beautiful floating mansion with sixteen pillars around it. The mansion was six hundred meters tall and a thousand meters wide. It was beautifully aligned in front of mountain scenery that was full of phoenix-shaped grass.

It was a resource that could be used for concoctions as well.

The inner architecture was exquisitely beautiful and appropriately designed to adjust to magical beast sizes, but he was stuck in the giant hall.

Apparently, the Aurora Cloud Gate was just west of here, and he was currently situated in the southwestern fringe of the West Fire Phoenix Prefecture and not at the central. He learned it from Asra, who was annoyed but was still kind enough to explain where he was. It allowed him to inwardly heave a sigh of relief as he felt that there wouldn't be Immortal Emperors chasing him if he were found out.

He'd liked to think that they were in the central region, but there was no saying what would happen.

He kept his mouth thereafter and only remained for a short time before he boarded the flying boat and went along the west.

He was on the deck, chilling as he saw the ever-changing scenery that was leaving past him quickly. The Immortal King Flying Boat was extremely fast. He felt that in half a day, it could cross a Prefecture without much effort.

Rivers and valleys rushed past him while the mountains occupied a significant portion of his vision. Moreover, floating islands were pretty much a common occurrence in the First Haven World. Even Flamerose's mansion was above a floating island.

Just as he was enjoying the scenery, he sensed a presence behind him.

"Feng Chu, it's your lucky day. Not only was your life spared by my kindhearted mistress, but she has also invited you to her chamber, wanting to hear your peasant story." Asra spoke in an annoyed tone.

Obviously, she was reluctant and didn't think he deserved such treatment.

Davis also frowned but not at Asra but at Flamerose. What was she thinking, inviting him into her chamber?

He was just a guest, an outsider. It was too suspicious of a figure on the level of Flamerose to even entertain him, but since he was called, he could only obey after acting like he wasn't quite deserving of it.

Asra gradually led him into the giant flying boat and its quarters, making their way inside before they finally arrived at Flamerose's chamber. Asra gave him an earful of how to be respectful in Mistress Zahara's presence, but he just caught it in one ear and let go of it through the other.

He understood that it was a case of superiority complex, but he didn't find anything wrong with a follower wanting to protect her mistress from the eyes of a peasant. He, too, sometimes, wanted to gouge out the eyes of some men who would try to profane his beauties.

That was how in tune with the cultivation world he was. The power, blood, and beauty had corrupted him. He was a far cry from what Tian Long had been but living to the fullest.

Nonetheless, moving into the chamber as he opened the door, he found a beautiful woman with voluminous curves seated on a chair before a tea table. The tea was hot as steam rose from it, giving forth quite a fragrant aroma that attracted Davis.

Before he knew it, he was in front of Flamerose and sat on the opposite chair, taking one of the two teacups as he took a sip.

"Mhm~ Marvelous. As expected of-"

"You lack etiquette, don't you?"

Mistress Zahara was seated on the chair elegantly despite her sharp tone. Davis merely chuckled and took a sip again. Placing the teacup on the table, he cautiously looked around.

"There's no one here other than the two of us, so speak freely." Looking at Feng Chu's action, Mistress Zahara giggled lightly as though finding him refreshing.

Perhaps, it was different than the usual sight she saw, but his rude actions combined with his mysterious expression had her intrigued.

"Before I say anything..." Davis nodded, his expression turning complex, "How's senior Frostrose?"

"Frostrose…?" Mistress Zahara blinked. Her eyes darted as though she was searching for something, but her brows only came to possess a frown.

"Who is this Frostrose you speak of?"

"Senior, there's no need to be secre-" Davis abruptly cut his sentence short, his brows frowning, "Senior, are you truly called Zahara?"

Mistress Zahara's body couldn't help but tremble as she brought her hand to her lips, trying to suppress her giggling.

"For as long as I've lived, I've only had the name Zahara. Zahara Zenflame. However, you speak as though you know me." She was amused, looking at him without taking her gaze off.

Davis's lips curved, "Aha. No, no. I was just playing a prank, but as expected, it's not easy to fool someone as sharp as Mistress Zahara. It was just; I wanted to know senior's past a bit since you wanted to know mine."

"Oh, quite audacious but very well, you're not wrong. Since I invited you as a guest to share stories, it is I who must start. Otherwise, it wouldn't be graceful."

Mistress Zahara smiled behind her veil. She started to talk about her story, but it was fairly short, causing Davis to step up as he quickly made up some bullshit. Suddenly, they felt the boat shake, sensing that it had come to a stop.

"We've already arrived?" Davis raised his brows. That was fast.

However, Mistress Zahara shook her head.

"The flying boat completed ninety percent of its journey. You and I are not of the same group, nor are we close, so I'd rather not want to be associated with you if you understand. It'll create unwarranted rumors as I was supposed to be living alone with my people. However, I wish you luck in the Aurora Cloud Gate as we'll be fellow disciples soon. At that time, perhaps, you can be my junior disciple."

"I understand, senior Zahara."

"You're smart but don't use that smartness with people of higher cultivation."

"I'll take those words to my heart."

Davis cupped his hands and left. Exiting the quarters, he arrived at the deck, whereupon he saw the flying boat parked right beside a mountain cliff, ready to drop him off.

However, there was also Asra waiting for him at the end, her arm stretched out as though asking for him to exit.

Davis didn't say a word as he flew out of the flying boat and landed on the mountain cliff, turning to look around as he let out a bright smile.

"Thanks for the Mid Immortal Grade Plant."

Asra's body trembled that she suddenly couldn't help but blush at his words. It wasn't that they forgot to take back the yang-attributed ingredient but let him have it.

"Hurry up and scram!"

"Yes, yes…" Davis ran away a bit further.

And then, the flying boat undocked and kicked off a dusty wind breeze before it flew off into the distance, leaving him alone above the mountain cliff.

Davis's eyes couldn't help but narrow heavily at this moment.

Lived in her mansion all her life? Abandoned by her family's elders because her origin was unknown and, perhaps, scandalous? But too noble to be completely abandoned?

'A case of mistaken identity?'

Davis shook his head.

He could never mistake Flamerose's aura.

Only he knew how he felt when he failed to save the two sisters, feeling a sense of heavy loss. If Mistress Zahara claimed that she was truly Mistress Zahara, then there was only a single conclusion in his mind.

'She has her memories rewritten…!?'
