Dimensional Store System In Apocalypse

Chapter 155 - Premium Price

"Good morning, boss!" the few employees seated inside the office greeted Zhang Qin Feng when he walked through the glass door. As this was his first time officially coming into the office to work and handle some paperwork, there was a hint of awkwardness behind the way he greeted everyone.

"Jung-Hee, correct?"

"Minha,"

"Hyun-Sik."

"Patrick."

After greeting them by addressing each of them with their names, Zhang Qin Feng went into his private office and took a deep breath.

'Phew... I'm lucky to have you, Stein...' Zhang Qin Feng went to his seat with a hand around his tie. After making it slightly looser, a knock came from the door.

"Come in," Zhang Qin Feng answered.

"Looks like the boss is getting comfortable with his seat. How's your first day of work?" Alice Moon came into his room with a few document folders in her embrace. She had a much fresher look right now, likely because this project is kicking off pretty well.

Even if it doesn't, Zhang Qin Feng may find nothing for him to worry about.

After all, the customer here in the modern world was not his target market. As long it would sell well in the post-apocalypse, getting a hundred to thousand boxes of instant noodle's order was not a problem at all.

"Not even grab the pen yet. What you have for me?" Zhang Qin Feng smiled at Alice Moon. From the look of it, she must be here with the pending document requiring his signature.

"You better sit there until I'm done then. We've found a few interested buyers looking forward to seeing what kind of product we have on our shelves. It was only natural to push all three flavors of our instant noodle out to the interested buyers because we've just started."

"But we'll still need your approval to give them out. What do you think about giving our suppliers five boxes to try first?" Alice Moon asked.

Five boxes a flavor, twelve packets in a box, that's sixty packets of premium Instant Noodles a kind. This means the business would have to start its business by making a loss first by providing 180 packs of instant noodles to each supplier.

Zhang Qin Feng guesses there are at least five to seven suppliers based on the number of folders in her hand.

Based on his estimated cost of close to three dollars per packet, that's quite a figure as it was a budget of 1,260 Yuan Dollars a supplier. It would be close to a 10,000 Yuan Dollars budget just to convince them to try this product.

Luckily, today's Zhang Qin Feng was different from before. He's much more insightful than before. With Stein inside his head, a mathematical equation was not a problem. A human's heart is.

"Of course," he gave her a smile as his reply. For the current him, 10,000 Yuan Dollars were nothing but a stack of highest denomination cash notes. If a small sacrifice like this would bring him more in return, it was a profitable investment.

"Look at you... Approving it before listening to the cost? Do you think it's just a thousand or two thousand change?" Alice Moon pulled the chair and have a seat. The folders were opened to the page where he had to leave his signature there.

Altogether, it was seven different suppliers. But calling them a wholesaler candidate was a stretch because the food was not their forte. The combination of their merchandise was what Alice Moon is targetting for.

"The cost was not what I'm worried about. I have some idea about the selling price, and let us set it at 15,99 per packet in the retail store." Zhang Qin Feng said.

"W-What? 15,99 Yuan Dollars? Zhang Qin Feng, are you joking with me? Do you know what's the price of the most expensive instant noodles out there?" Alice Moon asked.

"Yeah, 12,99. Did I get it correctly?" Zhang Qin Feng replied.

"Yes. And the packaging has two marinated quail eggs and a packet of hydrated seaweeds inside. Ours is all mock meat produce. If the client were to buy it at such a price, they're going to feel cheated. If the feedback was a mild one, it would be some complaints. But a heavy repercussion will be our product getting boycotted from the retail store." she added.

"I know what's your concern, but the good stuff is at the back. Why do you think I'm setting such a premium price on our baseline product?" Zhang Qin Feng asked.

"I hate that smile of yours sometimes... From your look, it seems you have a trump card hidden." Alice Moon feels a slight unease from Zhang Qin Feng's scheming expression.

"Correct. Why would I be bothered by other's products if I can produce my own signature food through a piece of sophisticated machinery? Our number one concern will be a sustainable plant-based protein with comparable texture, nutritional value, and taste."

"By that time, the market will have to follow our example and move on. It won't be us that trying to follow others." Zhang Qin Feng finished his sentence and started to sign the document on his table.

"Then... How much stock we have to manufacture right now? I remembered that you have some side orders added to the production." Alice Moon asked.

"Oh, that... Get the factory to produce an extra hundred boxes of each flavor weekly. I'll personally bring them out for distribution. As for the cost, bill it under my name for now." Zhang Qin Feng answered.

"Alright. Also, don't forget that the additional food-maker you've requested is kept inside the storeroom for now. If you have a need, let me know. I'll arrange some people to help you transport it to where you want it to be." Alice Moon finished what she had in her head and left Zhang Qin Feng's office.

She looked exhausted after speaking with Zhang Qin Feng for less than half an hour. That's because the surprises brought by Zhang Qin Feng are always hard to process and accept at first.

But in the eyes of the four office staff, she looked like she just had a rough session with Zhang Qin Feng inside the office. Was he getting rowdier than usual... Alice might have a hard time walking out of his office.
