Cultivation Through Artifacts

Chapter 33: A Wanted Man

“Welcome to Moon Academy, where knowledge means power and skill means survival!”

Instantly as those words sounded in the air, everyone stopped talking and turned their heads toward Jas.

The whole place turned so silent, that even a pin’s drop could be clearly heard.

However, Jas seeing this just simply nodded with a satisfied smile and started to talk.

“I think all of you remember me from yesterday, but let me introduce myself for one more time. My name is Jas. I am currently an Eighth Stage Cultivator and this Academy’s current principal at the same time. It is my pleasure to meet all of you here!”

“!”

When Khal and the others heard this, their expression turned bewildered instantly, not believing what they just heard.

The one right before them was the one who tested their powers yesterday and it turns out that he was the principal all along! This was crazy!

In any other normal Academy, the teachers were the ones with the task to assess one’s strength and decide to let them enroll in the Academy or not. It was never the principal, which just showed how strange the current events were.

“Yeah, now that I think about it… Where are the teachers?”, asked Khal quietly and looked around.

And it was not only him who thought this way, but almost everyone around. Everyone looked around to see where the teachers were, but no matter where they looked, they didn’t see any.

Jas seeing their confused expressions smiled slightly and started to talk calmly again.

“Moon Academy’s system works a bit differently than other Academies in the world. Normally, after you enroll into an Academy, you would automatically get a teacher and a class, but here it’s not how things work.”

Smiling, Jas stepped to the side and pointed at the mansion’s huge gate on his side, and continue to talk in the same calm manner as before.

“This door behind me will be your final test.”

“?!”

Listening to this, everyone looked confused, but the next sentence from Jas made them to turn instantly dead silent.

“Right behind this door, there are all of Moon Academy’s teachers. The only thing you need to do is to put your hands on its surface and wait. If it opens, the teacher behind it will be your educator until the day you graduate from Moon Academy.”

“One teacher can have several students, so you don’t need to fear if you are the last one. The only thing you need to fear is the gate. If it does not open before you, you will be instantly kicked out from Moon Academy.”

“If that happens, you will never be allowed to step foot inside Moon Academy’s territory ever again.”

“!?”

When those sentences sounded from Jas’s mouth, and everyone realized the weight of what he just said, everyone’s expression stiffened in an instant.

The weight of the ‘never allowed’ words meant if they failed to open the gates, then no matter how strong they became next year or after that, they can’t enroll into Moon Academy ever again!

Instantly as this realization appeared in everyone’s mind, loud whispers arose among the crowd of Cultivators.

*Clap! Clap!*

Feeling the growing ruckus, Jas just clapped loudly and when everything turned silent again, continued to talk.

“But before that, I want to tell all of you a very important piece of information that could and will be essential for your growth if you succeed in this final test.”

As he did this, Jas clapped his hand yet again, but this time suddenly several dim and small lights materialized above the crowd.

“Huh?”

Khal and Liza, who were listening to Jas’s speech in silence so far, suddenly felt as the keys in their pockets lit up and before they could have reacted, they watched as the keys floated above their heads.

Alongside them, amidst the crowd, three other keys appeared in the air too with gentle white light.

A total of 5 keys, covered in dim white light.

One was above a girl who had honey blonde hair, which was worn in twin tails. She had beautiful sky blue eyes and milk-white skin, while her height barely reached above 5 feet.

The next key was right above a guy with a muscular build which leaked unshakable dominance. He was bald completely, while his Cultivation Tatto was clearly visible on his muscular neck, where even his bulging veins were visible.

The last key though was above a strange guy. He was wearing black clothes with a hoodie above his head, covering and hiding his face almost entirely from others.

However, not these traits made the guy strange, but the way he stood. He was standing still as calmly as a Buddhist, while he had hardly any presence!

If it weren’t because of the key above his head, no one would have noticed him at all, which was quite a frightening characteristic for someone as young as him.

As people noticed the keys above the five kids, everyone turned surprised while at the same time confused.

“Those 5 will have the privilege for the V.I.P rooms, meaning they have Moon Academy’s most valuable resources in hand, which are the following.”

Putting his hand out and pointing at the muscular guy in the close distance, Jas started to talk.

“Tempering Path. A place where one can temper one’s physical strength twofold as normally. Best place for those who has physical associated Talent.”

After he said that he pointed at the hoodied boy and said, “Abyss Woodland. A dense and dark forest where one can refine and learn how to become a great hunter. Best territory for assassins for sure.”

Focusing on the blond-haired beauty, Jas continued to speak.

“Celestial Pond. Swimming in the lake which can be found there makes one to gain a better understanding of one’s Talent and potential. Perfect spot for healer or support type of Talents.”

Instantly after he said this, Jas looked at Liza and continued, “Fairy Island. The place where one becomes relaxed and one’s concentration becomes terrifying. For those who want to practice with any kind of skill or Talent with 120% concentration, this will be the perfect place.”

Lastly, Jas pointed at Khal and said, “Blade Mountain. There, the Essence Particles’ density is much greater than anywhere else, allowing one to cultivate their Talent twice or three times faster than normal.”

“!?”

When others heard this, everyone turned to look at the five kids with jealousy, greed, and anger right in their eyes.

The latter one was especially true for Alde. His face looked so angry that thick veins could be seen popping out on his neck and forehead.

He didn’t believe that Khal, a no one without any Talent was able to obtain such a precious and valuable chance, while he couldn’t.

He felt like exploding!

Jas seeing the different looks on the faces he smiled gently and said calmly, “However, do not worry. All of you will have the chance to obtain the keys and replace the owner.”

“?!”

Seeing that everyone turned to look at him with questioning looks, Jas started to explain.

“Every three days, the key holders must accept a challenge from someone. The winner obtains the right for the key. But, if they decline and do not fight even after 3 days, they will lose the right to keep the key. If that happens, the key will automatically appear at a random student inside Moon Academy.”

Instantly as those words sounded, everyone turned toward the five, but this time instead ad anger or jealousy, their eyes were filled with determination and greater greed.

Khal seeing the several gazes on his skin, he instantly felt like a single woman on a men-filled island and became a bit uncomfortable.

“This… Will be perfect…”
