Cultivation Through Artifacts

Chapter 233 - Upgrading And Improving!

Khal stared at Liza for quite a while, hardly finding the words he wanted to say at that statement.

A monster in human skin? A Cultivation genius? What was she talking about? In his opinion, he did nothing special at all except killing Beasts and consuming their Essence. Hell, he could have reached the Sixth Stage even before if he didn't decide to turn his Beast Essences into Body Essence here and there!

Of course, if Liza or anyone else would hear this, they would definitely make sure to beat up Khal as those words sounded pretty arrogant!

Maybe Khal didn't know it as he had several Talents and Secret Arts together with a Tamed Beast thus he could easily kill several Beasts, but this wasn't the case for others. As a matter of fact, an average Cultivator in the best case scenario needed at least half a year to reach the Peak of the Fifth Cultivation Stage while an unknown amount of time to unlock one of their sealed Essence Paths!

If one thought about this like this, then Khal was indeed a genius, a cultivation monster disguised as human!

"Well... Whatever..." sighed Khal and after glancing at the lake that was covered with Frozen Flames he shifted his gaze back at Liza and asked, "Anyway, do you want to eat something? It's on me!"

Inside Lunar Tavern, Khal and Liza ate several delicious-looking foods that refreshed their very being while Rubie did the same but with a slice of single meat that was as huge as half a human!

All three looked elated by the flavors of the food and also the amount they could fill their stomach, and it was clearly written on their faces.

Sometime later, just as Khal was about to put another sliced meat that had a blue color into his mouth, suddenly he noticed as Liza was staring at him with an intense stare in silence, almost as if she wanted to know something from him.

As a matter of fact, she was like this since quite a while ago, but because he thought she will stop glaring at him like that he simply ignored her, but it seemed it didn't work thus he could do nothing but lower his arm before sighing and asking, "What's the matter? You have been staring at me for at least five minutes so far."

When Khal asked his question Liza nodded and said, "Didn't you forget something?"

"Forget what?" Khal this time raised his brow in confusion, but soon realized what she meant thus sighed and said, "If I tell you the truth, will you promise you won't talk about it no matter what nor tell anyone?"

This time, it was Liza's time to become confused but in the end, she nodded.

"I will promise."

"I see..." Khal said and after making sure no one was around, he smiled coldly which startled Liza, but instead of telling her straight he asked, "Can you remember the incident in the Ceremony and the following events after that?"

"Uhm... Yeah, I can, but why do you make me recollect what happened that time? Just thinking back hurts me..." Liza said Khal, her shining eyes gradually turning sad and depressed.

Khal however continued to smile and say, "And can you remember what I showed you once we left the hospital?"

"The ring? I can, but I don't know what relation does that has with your curr-, oh..." Liza suddenly stopped talking, seemingly realizing something.

And soon, her little eyes widened extra large before asking, "Don't tell me you have..."

"Yes, I did."

'...'

Liza looked stupefied even though she expected this answer, and couldn't help but clench her palm into a tight fist. Ever since the accident that happened a few months ago, she held a great grudge toward the Ourvi Family, especially toward Alde, but because she was weak and helpless she didn't dare to provoke much less offend them even though her wish was to burn them all alive.

Yet, Khal who was thought to be Talentless dared to do the impossible and even succeeded with it too! It was something that made Liza feel extreme happiness and a wave of powerful relief but at the same time an amount of worry and anxiety that she didn't know if she ever felt before or not.

After processing the small piece of information that currently felt a ton, she glanced up at Khal with eyes filled with concern, and asked, "And what will you do now? Do they kn-"

"They don't," said Khal quickly, his gaze holding one hundred percent of assurance.

"But still, it's 'them' we are talking about! You can never be sure when it includes those people! They are dangerous people that can rival all the other powerful families if they wished to! I... Do you have any idea just how dire your current situation is?"

"I do, but I don't care. Once I get even stronger than currently, I will make sure to demolish all of them from this planet's surface even if that's the last thing I do!" Khal said, his eyes now turned ice-cold with a hint of killing intent in them.

"You..." Liza looked speechless, but soon her complexion turned angry, and stood up before storming toward the exit without saying a single word.

Khal watching as Liza run out like that sighed as he kind of foresaw such an outcome.

But in truth, what could have he told her? What he just told her was the truth as that was the only way for him to protect her from the Ourvi Family, hence he had no choice.

After taking a little bit of time to ponder, Khal glanced at Rubie and said, "Go and follow her. Make sure she is safe if I'm not around."

Rubie seemingly understanding Khal's words, or at least understanding them half, flapped her wings and vanished from her spot.

'...'

Khal nodded mildly once he saw this and glanced at the bracelet on his wrist before his eyes lit up with determination and thought, "I will get stronger and I know exactly how to do it!"

And with that in mind, he waved his hand, immediately summoning several words shaped from white light in his line of sight.
