Commanding Wind and Cloud

Chapter 433

Chapter 433: President Yunxing

Holy shit! How could you?! Ray Zhen goggled his eyes unthinkably wide. Against the uncountable bribes the Ray Family had sent to the mayor’s family to carry out cooperation in all aspects, how could York Leigh express his support for Qian Jin publicly?

The Ray members felt like going nuts and cursing Qian Jin’s luck. What on earth was so special about him? How could the mayor show inclinations toward such a nasty thing irrespective of their feelings and dignity?

What strong support it was! The quick-minded guests had already grasped their glasses and walked toward Qian Jin to show friendliness with him so as to win the favor of the mayor.

“The mayor stands by Qian Jin?” Lenz Zarf kept nodding his head. “What the hell is all this? Nord, do you know anything about this?”

“Me? I know nothing about it at all!” York Nord couldn’t hold back his anger anymore. How could his father back Qian Jin up instead him? Who on earth was his father’s son? Was his father caught with senile dementia?

“Qian Jin?” York Hons held a glass of red wine and walked to Qian Jin smilingly. “I want to apologize in lieu of my younger brother and my mother-in-name for the impoliteness they held toward you. I hope that you can accept my apology.”

Qian Jin lifted the wine glass softly and took a little sip. He held natural resistance against of this son of the mayor. Every time he encountered him, he felt like being confronted with a serpent lurking in the grass.

“President of Blacksmith Union of Yulee, Yunxing Huisheng…”

The receptionist screeched in his highest pitch, drawing the attention of the drunken guests towards the entrance of the hall.

York Leigh hurriedly walked down the stage and strode toward the entrance of the hall with a glowing smile.

As the mayor of Yulee, York Leigh could ignore the vice-president of the Crystal Magic Tower, the leader of the Ray Family and even Ray Guamin, the vice president of the Blacksmith Union. However, on no occasion could he treat Yunxing Huisheng lightly.

Any of the major forces in Yulee didn’t dare to treat this Forge Grandmaster lightly. After all, no force could fight on its own, and no warriors or mages could dispense the support of equipment, especially the warriors.

There were millions of city guards at the service of the mayor. Though the Zence Empire would offer financial support on a regular basis, to set up an impregnable army to be led to fight with the demons on the human-demon battlefront, the mayor had to seek recourse from the president of the Blacksmith Union as the government allocation was far from enough.

Marc Gavin also held back his arrogance and walked toward the entrance to greet this Forge Grandmaster who had held the presidency of the Blacksmith Union for years. It was said that this blacksmith had long reached the summit of forging.

The other guests flooded the entrance one after another as a respect for their mayor. Even though they didn’t really care about this old blacksmith, they had to try getting on the right side of their mayor.

“President Yunxing, it’s really out of my expectations to have you here at my birthday party.”

York Leigh looked at Yunxing Huisheng, the Forge Grandmaster and the president of the Blacksmith Union.

Dressed in a plain lien gown and with hoary hair, crawling wrinkles, bright eyes and a straight back, this old blacksmith had a pair of pincers-like hands. Such was the first impression Yunxing Huisheng left with Qian Jin.

“How could I skip the mayor’s birthday party?” Yunxing Huisheng uttered a faint smile and walked down the stage slowly. Enveloped in a strong atmosphere, Yunxing Huisheng made everyone that passed by feel like kneeling down and worshipping.

“Master.” Currently, Ray Guamin, the notable Forge Grandmaster in Yulee, looked just like a forging novice. He bent down, rushed to Yunxing Huisheng and poked out his hands to try propping his teacher.

“Am I that old?” Yunxing Huisheng waved his arm slightly to fend off Ray Guamin’s hands. “As a blacksmith, if I am so old and feeble that I couldn’t walk on my own, how could I forge more refined and sophisticated weaponry?”

Ray Guamin dodged to the other side and nodded his head repeatedly. Yunxing Huisheng cast an inquisitive look at Ray Guamin and then looked along his line of sight, which pointed at Qian Jin in the end.

Feeling the look from Yunxing Huisheng, Qian Jin quickly made a bow at this solemn-looking old man.

“Young man, are you Qian Jin?”

Yunxing Huisheng nudged off the crowd of guests standing in his way and walked toward Qian Jin.

What did the name of Yunxing Huisheng signify?

To ordinary citizens, the fortes of this Blacksmith Union President might be of no relevance. However, among the upper class in Yulee City or even throughout Yulee Region, the life experience of this president was something way too familiar.

Born in Yulee Region, Yunxing Huisheng started to learn to forge at the age of six and became a blacksmith when he was thirty years old with the title of “an emerging star in the world of forging”. At the age of fifty, he ascended to the rank of Forge Grandmaster. Up till now, he was seventy-seven years old, but he still kept strong and hearty. As commented by outsiders, this Forge Grandmaster who hadn’t ever taken part in the qualification test of forging title had long evolved advanced to a Supreme Blacksmith.

A Supreme Blacksmith in this sense was different from the posthumous title given to an unqualified blacksmith after his death as a commemoration of the contribution he made to the country, to the warrior circle, and to the Blacksmith Union; it was backed by skills and qualifications.

Ray Guamin watched his master walking towards in a holy respected way and felt inexplicably happy that Qian Jin was doomed this time, as his master was a big shot with both technical strength and political influence.

His master was not only the president of Yulee Blacksmith Union but also the Number One Forger throughout Yulee Region. Wherever he went in Yulee Region apart from Yulee City, he would receive reverent greeting and bows from his counterpart presidents of the blacksmith unions, while he just needed to stand still, seeing all those worshipers and then sit down on their seats for rest.

The Zence Empire had sent him offers of invitation multiple times, promising him even better treatment than what he could receive from being the Blacksmith Union President in Yulee Region. But he rejected them invariably.

“I’m a blacksmith. A blacksmith born in Yulee Region. As a blacksmith, I’m obligated to remain in the Blacksmith Union. Apart from serving the Zence Empire, I shall also make contributions to nurturing qualified blacksmiths for Yulee Region.”

In the past, on thinking about this maxim worshiped by many other blacksmiths in Yulee, Ray Guamin would feel indignant for his master’s not seeking better prospects but staying here in the Blacksmith Union as a hindrance in his assuming the presidency.

But now, for the first time in his life did Ray Guamin feel it fortunate to have his master stay in the Yulee Blacksmith Union. The reason was that as long as he remained here with the help of all blacksmiths in Yulee, no one, including the powerful Marc Gavin would dare to get on the wrong side of him.

Unless the Torrent Battle Fort hoped to court death deliberately. In case the Yulee Blacksmith Union stopped providing the Torrent Battle Fort with weapons and equipment, the latter could purchase from other blacksmiths in Yulee Region. But what if it got on the wrong side of Yunxing Huisheng?

Ray Guamin could say with sheer certainty that Marc Gavin wouldn’t be able to buy even one piece of iron nail in all blacksmith shops of Yulee Region, let alone any other weapons and equipment. Without the support of sabers and swords, what would those uncouth warriors in the Torrent Battle Fort be fed on? By that time the core force of the Torrent Battle Fort would all ditch the fort and join other warrior unions as adventurers or mercenaries.

Seeing that Yunxing Huisheng sent no greeting toward the mayor upon arrival but directly searched for Qian Jin, Marc Gavin’s heart sunk down to the lowest and started to fix his eyes on the president of Yulee Blacksmith Union anxiously.

A sinister smile blossomed in York Nord’s anger-wrapped face. According to what he was informed of, Ray Guamin led a delegation to the Torrent Battle Fort for revenge but ended up being humiliated. But now, given that Yunxing Huisheng had stood out in private, no one including his father could provide any backup for Qian Jin.

Xander stood aside with a sleazy look, as it came as a surprise to him that this idle president of the Blacksmith Union who seldom meddled with the internal affairs in the union had stood out for his team today. It seemed that Qian Jin would soon become a target of public criticism in Yulee, and by that time he would easily take over the four…three beauties.

Xander cast a fearful look at Gomez Jane, speaking to himself that this beauty was not a thorny flower, but a saber with a seductive appearance. Not to mention that she was backed up by Fabreidis, the Saint Warrior. Unless he got fed up with living in peace and longed for returning to the stars, he would never ever harbor the intent of getting her onto his bed.

This world was never short of beauties. Xander looked Rosella and the other two beauties up and down. Any of these three could provide him with indescribable pleasure on the bed, and if he procured them at the same time…

Xander was erect once again upon thinking about such a scene. Were it not for the cloaking effect of the loose mage robe, this somehow embarrassing move would be exposed to everyone present at the party.

The atmosphere of the hall changed again with the appearance of Yunxing Huisheng. Holding their breaths, people stared at this idol of Yulee’s blacksmiths, wondering what he would do next. The news that Ray Guaminwas getting insulted by the Torrent Battle Fort a couple of days ago was more or less known by the crowd.

Why did this Blacksmith Union President, who showed no interest in anything other than forging technique, show up here today? Everyone was wondering.

“I am.” Qian Jin laid the wine glass on the table coated with a white cloth and walked toward Yunxing Huisheng in a nonchalant manner. “Elder, what can I do for you?”
