Chapter 1477 - Cleaning Up the Plane (Part 1)

Chapter 1477: Cleaning Up the Plane (Part 1)

“I am the 103rd monarch of the Pheasant Dynasty, the great Borges. Please release me, oh spokesperson of the Asmodians. I am willing to trade gold coins for my freedom.” The emperor did not neglect boasting, but he was already trembling. Two properties of the highest level had appeared on a single person’s body at the same time. Saleen could not help but laugh.

“Oh respected Majesty, I am the king of Metatrin Kingdom from the primary mainland plane. I am not a spokesperson of the Asmodians.” Saleen saw that the laughable fellow was an emperor, so he was no longer anxious. He did not have great power. If he arrived at Qin, he would be a Baron at most. However, he would definitely be aware of the important information regarding this secondary mainland plane.

The Emperor of the Pheasant Dynasty heard that Saleen was merely a king. He had originally wanted to put on airs, but his waist was still in great pain, so he was still able to have a clear grasp of the situation. His armor had been thoroughly shredded into pieces by the Violet Angel’s claws. The Violet Angel had not intended to leave the Emperor with any semblance of dignity. The clothes on Borges’ body were torn to rags, as if he was a beggar.

“Ahem, respected Majesty, oh great mage, I admit that it is my loss. My knights…” Borges saw that the corpses of his knights were being dragged over, and his face twitched. Of course, it was impossible for an Emperor to only have 50 knights. However, all of the knights in his imperial city were less than 300 in total.

He was merely a second rate Emperor. After discovering this spatial pathway, he immediately began to harbor thoughts of conquest. If there was a weak country behind the spatial pathway, then he could expand his territory.

Currently, his territory only consisted of about 50 kilometers, which was not much at all. If he wanted to become a truly great monarch, he had to have at least 1,000 knights and more than 250 kilometers of land.

Originally, he had intended to trade gold coins for the return of his knights. However, his knights had all died in battle as a result of the military charge. His pride had not been able to stand the heavy blow, so he involuntarily twitched.

It was just a battle, was there a need to kill people?

On this plane, war between countries relied on them mutually scaring each other. It depended on whose troops had greater numbers and whose armor looked better. They would battle just for show. If they felt like they would not be a match for their opponent, they would admit defeat, compensate the other party with some gold coins, and everything would be settled.

In any case, once their forces became greater, they could still have another bout of battle. Once they were victorious, they would be able to earn back even more gold coins than they had lost.

Why were these humans who had brought along the Asmodians so ruthless?

The two mages did not dare to interrupt. Their knowledge was even broader than Borges’ and they knew how fearsome the primary mainland plane was. The king was a mage who had surpassed level 10.

What kind of concept was this? On this plane, a level 9 mage was the strongest person.

On the chariot in the distance, the elemental vibrations became even more intense. They had heard that there was even a level 18 mage on the primary mainland plane. Level 18! That surpassed the gods.

Saleen smiled mildly. The Violet Angel lowered his head and looked at Borges. Borges was completely honest. A double-headed dragon was not a creature that the Asmodians could mount. It seemed the human king had not been tempted by the Asmodians. Rather, he was the master of the Asmodians.

In that case, could the situation at the northern front lines have changed for the better?

The secondary mainland plane was the same as many other planes and had the close kin of the demons – the Asmodians.

The battle between humans and Asmodians had never ever stopped. However, the number of Asmodians on this plane was too few and it was difficult for them to multiply. Thus, they had never caused any disasters.

Borges’ country was at the east of the continent, which was why he was so terrified at seeing the Asmodians. He thought that the spatial pathway had been created by the Asmodians. If the Asmodians had backup, the humans would not be their match.

Saleen saw that the Violet Angel was scaring others. He stopped smiling and scolded him. Very cooperatively, the Violet Angel put away the two skulls and turned away in a daze. The enemy was too weak, and it was not up to him to make a move.

Only then did Saleen ask about the details of the plane. Although Borges was weak, he was still a proper Emperor and was extremely familiar with the continent. Saleen had not thought of getting rid of this fellow. Rather, he instructed the mages to construct their campsite here and hold a banquet, inviting Borges to dine with him.

The sky darkened. The Illumination magic that the mages had released enveloped the campsite and formed an illusion. No one would be able to see any of the proceedings from the periphery, even if they had alchemy binoculars.

Borges was still in a state of shock. Saleen’s hospitality towards him was not fake. Aside from the fact that the Emperor was too proud, there were no tricks involved. He answered as specifically as he could for all of Saleen’s questions.

The attitude he had adopted was extremely proper. He was a prisoner, and in his heart, he felt that enemies killed their prisoners.

The secondary mainland plane was not small. It was approximately the size of a kingdom on the Myers Continent. The northern part of the continent was freezing cold and had been occupied by the Asmodians. The other half had been divided up between hundreds of countries.

Some Emperors only had a city and a few hundred soldiers. Someone like Borges who could gather about 200 knights was considered to be powerful.

At the northern front line, there was a gigantic mountain pass blocking the Asmodians. All other positions consisted of tall mountains that were difficult to cross.

The continent’s forces had been divided into a total of nine levels. The strongest person in history was merely level 12, but not because the plane was under the suppression of any rules. Rather, the bloodlines of the people on the continent were not pure enough. This was an inherent deficiency.

Furthermore, it was particularly difficult to cultivate magic there. There were no decent inheritances. Thus, the proportion of knights compared to mages was terrifyingly great.

The fact that Borges was able to have two mages by his side was the reason for this country’s strength.

His clan controlled a crystal mineral vein nobody was aware of. It was not difficult for Borges to provide for two mages.

The two mages stood to the side without speaking. Saleen readily asked them a question, “the two of you, what kind of power do you hold on this continent?”

The two mages felt flattered. “On this continent, the number of sorcerers is less than 100. We are in the middle tier. There will be no issue as long as we do not encounter a sorcerer. Your Majesty, could…”

“You wish to follow me?” Saleen smiled.

“Yes, Your Majesty.” The two mages did not hesitate at all. Although Borges treated them fairly well, without a good magic inheritance, there was no possibility for them to advance.

Their talent was not sufficient. They could only rely on skills to make up for it.

“Among my Followers, the lowest ranked are all at level 12.”

Saleen’s words caused the two mages to lose practically all hope. Even the lowest ranked of this king’s Followers were at level 12?

“However, in this plane and with such an environment, both of you were still able to become great mages. Mm, this is still not too bad. I will arrange for people to stay here and guide the both of you.”

The two mages were stunned for a moment, then felt overjoyed. They were intelligent and understood Saleen’s intentions.

“Mm. Borges, this continent does not need so many Emperors. After I clear out the Asmodians, how about you become the only Emperor.”

“But I do not have that many troops, nor do I have gold coins!” Borges pulled a long face. Saleen had given him a difficult mission. How could he fulfill it? Although he hoped to become the only Emperor, he did not have the capabilities to do so.

“Troops, money, mages, equipment, I will provide all of this to you. Oh right, isn’t there a church on this continent of yours? One that is devoted to the God of the Underworld?”

“Yes, Your Majesty.”

“It can be destroyed. After the Heavenly Kingdom of Purgatory is destroyed, the Pope here shall be appointed by you.”

Borges had an expression of gloom. Seeing his expression, Saleen smiled coldly. “Are you unwilling to become a puppet?”

“Mm, I am not that willing.” This Emperor was very honest, which made Saleen think more highly of him.

“Don’t worry. I am at all not interested in governing this place. I am allowing you to become the Emperor because I am afraid of any unforeseen events here that cannot be controlled. You can govern without any worries. If there are any troubles, the people of the Nature Faith will contact me to help you take care of it.”

Seeing that Borges still looked unwilling, Saleen suddenly released his Lightning Territory and covered the two people, isolating them from the outside world.

“You do not like the Nature Faith?” Saleen asked.

“Yes. I hate all of the religions.”

“Don’t worry, the Nature Faith here will be restricted by you. When the time comes when they are not needed, I will take away all of the Holy Masters.” Saleen no longer beat around the bush. After hearing these words of Saleen’s, Borges stood. However, he was immediately forced back to his seat by Saleen’s Hand of Mages.

“Your Majesty, does this Nature Faith not have a god?”

“It does, but she will not live for too long,” Saleen replied.

Borges stopped asking questions. He was not stupid. He knew that Saleen was willing to speak this way because he truly wanted to make him the manager of this plane. As for how the Nature Faith would develop in the future, he would have the right to call the shots.

Saleen did not want the Nature Faith to develop too quickly on this plane, nor did he want there to be any true disciples. He would allow the Nature Faith’s disciples and the God of the Underworld’s disciples to fight with one another. He definitely would not send any troops for support.

Borges accepted the reality. He would go from being a prisoner to this plane’s lone Emperor in the future.

He was so excited that he could not sleep, so he invited Saleen into his imperial palace to look. Saleen did not reject him. He brought the Violet Angel and Rafel and returned to Borges’ imperial city.

Saleen readily asked if Borges had dispatched people to enter the spatial pathway before. Borges’ reply enabled Saleen to understand why it felt as if this plane had a god.

The one who had entered the spatial pathway was a disciple of the God of the Underworld. Furthermore, it had been a black-cloaked Consul.

The preaching of the God of the Underworld’s faith was not permitted in Borges’ country. Borges had received intelligence and had gone forth to pursue and kill the black-cloaked Consul. As a result, he had discovered the spatial pathway.

The Heavenly Kingdom of Purgatory was a religious kingdom. It occupied 500 kilometers of land and had exceptionally large forces in the west.

Saleen judged the situation on the plane and thought that it was better for him to wait for the results of Aini’s battle and move Floating City. He would be able to destroy the resistance forces with one move. It was better than selecting a few unlucky fellows to act as a demonstration.

He would get rid of the Asmodians, and then overthrow the God of the Underworld’s faith. There would not be anybody who would dare to resist him.

After Saleen had made up his mind, he immediately commanded Rafel to assemble the troops and mages to prepare to attack the secondary mainland plane with full force.
