Chapter 144: The World is a Cheese (Part 1)

“This is the first time I have seen metal made out of cheese.” Saleen looked at the metal pillar that he could not understand, giving it a compliment. Lex laughed. The pillar was in the shape of a cube, and with the many holes on its surface, it did indeed look like pieces of cheese that had been stacked on top of each other.

“Since it is cheese, we need to taste it to find out how it is,” Lex said, walking through the door. Just as she stepped in, an incredible sucking force appeared from the metal pillar in the center of the hall, pulling Lex’s body towards it.

Saleen had acute senses, and the moment this force appeared, he was already aware of it. Seeing Lex’s body move, his hand had already grabbed her hand. His other hand reached back to try and hold onto Sika. So long as Sika and Nailisi held onto him, with their strength, he would definitely be able to hold Lex back.

However, he caught nothing but air, and with a rush of air against their ears, both him and Lex disappeared inside of the pillar. Sika, who had been standing outside and had not managed to hold onto Saleen, took the cudgel from her back and prepared to rush in. Nailisi grabbed her hand. Sika shouted angrily, “Let go!”

“There is no point in you going. You will die.”

“You don’t need to care!” Sika raised her cudgel, about to strike Nailisi on the head.

“If you die, Master will think I was the cause.” Nailisi released her hand. No matter how strong she was, she did not want to get hit in the head by Sika. Even if she did not die, her skull would be broken.

Master?

In her moment of anxiety, Sika had forgotten Nailisi’s relationship with Saleen. Only then did she realize that if Saleen had currently been in danger, Nailisi would have been the first to rush in. Having been bound together, if their master died, the contracted creature would suffer a fate worse than death.

“Then what do we do?” Sika placed the cudgel on the floor as she glared at Nailisi, hoping to find an answer from her face.

Nailisi did not even bat an eyelid as she sat on the floor and said, “Rest. If Saleen dies, find a place to bury me. I don’t want to stay in the tower and become a puppet for someone else.”

Sika’s slammed her cudgel against the floor before sitting down indignantly.

“If I were you, I would use this opportunity to research the necklace.” Nailisi bent her back backwards, lying on the ground as she strained to keep her eyes open.

Sika was not in the mood for research at all. Seeing her anxiety, Nailisi closed her eyes and said, “Then I shall go to sleep. If I suddenly die, that means Master is in danger. Do not wait then.”

Saleen had gripped Lex’s hand without a second thought, not daring to let go. The enormous force sucked them directly into the holes on the metal pillar. This was not an illusion as Saleen felt himself slide through a bright tunnel, gliding forward. The magic shields on the exterior of his body rubbed vigorously against his surroundings and were depleted rapidly. Saleen felt nauseous. The tunnel was not straight and had many curves to it. If he had not been able to control his heartbeat, having his body thrown around like this definitely would have led to his blood vessels bursting.

If this continued, the depletion of his magic chords would not be slow either. At this thought, Saleen pulled hard with his hand and brought Lex beside him. Just at that moment, the tunnel curved and the two of them came together in a ball. Lex was shocked, releasing a fire ring of resistance which enclosed both her and Saleen together.

Lex was a Grade 5 mage and the fire ring of resistance was a Grade 2 spell; she could release it many times. Even though they had both cast a defensive spell, the effects were not doubled. Saleen could use this moment to restore his magic chords, and if the two of them continued taking turns releasing spells, so long as there were no other attacks from this tunnel, they would be able to hold on.

What angered Lex was that Saleen was embracing her tightly, pushing their bodies together. Whenever the tunnel curved, the two of them were squeezed together forcefully. Saleen was already taller than her, and the belt on his magic robe was pressing right onto her stomach. The tough belt made her skin sear with pain.

Saleen, on the other hand, had a completely different experience. He could feel Lex’s breasts pressing firmly against his chest, and as the tunnel curved, they became soft and firm. He could not see Lex’s expression but he did not dare move his neck around either, fearing that any movement would cause their heads to smash into each other.

This was a wonderful feeling and Saleen was not nervous at all. In fact, he was a little relaxed. Any concepts he had of women had come from magic books, and most of the descriptions of women by mages had not cast them in a favorable light. Whatever Saleen had been able to learn had to do with knowledge of certain techniques.

This knowledge was not helpful in the pursuit of magic and many mages had written down warnings in red in their magic notes.

Women were the greatest roadblock to mages on their journeys in magic; the complexity of women was comparable to the Figaro formula; a woman was equivalent to a holy master and a magic beast combined. Most of the warnings had been like this and there had been very few compliments. Even though Saleen had always regarded these comments with a neutral stance, they still had an influence on him.

Now, he felt as though as if he could not control his heartbeat, something that also happened when he saw Sika fresh out of the shower. All of his blood rushed up to his head, and his heart went soft while his limbs became stiff.

Just as Saleen was internally debating on whether he should use magic to stabilize the changes inside his body, Lex started puking all of a sudden.

The fire ring of resistance could prevent their bodies from rubbing against the metal tunnel and getting injured, but this did not change the fact that they were being hurled around. Lex’s body was not as tough as Saleen’s, and at last, she could not take the churning in her stomach and puked all over Saleen’s back.

Under normal circumstances, a Cleaning spell would have solved this. However, the two of them were within the fire ring of resistance and around their body was an enclosed magic space. Under these intense revolutions, Saleen saw a sticky liquid hurling towards him.

Splat…

Saleen could not take it either, puking onto Lex’s back.

However, the sensual feelings did not disappear and Saleen continued embracing Lex tightly, not neglecting to release a water shield when the fire ring of resistance was about to disappear.

Lex did not have as much control as Saleen. He had stopped after puking once, but Lex puked until there was nothing left inside of her, her stomach beginning to hurt.

She had no way of releasing magic accurately in her condition, and Saleen could only repeatedly release his water shields in order to protect their bodies.

With a booming sound, they emerged from the tunnel and landed heavily on their rears. To protect the two of them, Saleen’s water shield had expanded fully, forming a giant spherical shape. As they landed on the ground, it quickly rebounded into the air and landed on an even tougher material as it was deflected once again.

Saleen did not dare stop the water shield. Despite having a tough body, he would not be able to take such a beating. After all, he was only a mage and not a swordsman.

After being bounced around over thirty times, they finally stopped, and only then did Saleen dissipate the water shield. Lex shouted angrily, “Are you not going to let go?”

Lex had never been this dishevelled before. Her chest was aching and her body was covered in her own vomit. Where would she ever have experienced something like this before?

Saleen released her slowly and said in his softest voice, “Do not move around. Prepare the scrolls.”

Lex took a moment to regain her senses and took a look behind Saleen. The sky was blue and some white clouds were floating about lazily in the air. In the distance was a mountain range and a forest. Pressing her back against Saleen, she saw dozens of magic beasts staring wickedly at the two of them.

Seeing the enormous bodies and wide armor of the magic beasts, Lex realized what they had been bouncing off of. They had fallen into a pack of magic beasts and bounced off of them several times. Even if they were not typically carnivorous, they would be agitated by now.

Saleen looked behind Lex and saw even more magic beasts. There were at least a hundred. They had killer glares on them, their red eyes staring at the two of them.

Saleen said in a hoarse voice, “Are you prepared?”

“Yes.” Lex had unconsciously begun to cooperate with Saleen.

“Now!” Saleen took out a magic scroll from his demonic ring and released it rapidly.

“Close your eyes!” Lex released her magic scroll more slowly than Saleen, and her Grade 6 magic scroll only opened after Saleen’s poisonous gas had been completely released.

Saleen closed his eyes, and with a tug from Lex, a white light shot up into the skies.

Grade 6 Light Magic: Light Explosion.

The Light Explosion spell not only caused illusions to fade but could counter Dark Magic. It could destroy an enemy’s eyes, and once the spell was shot directly at them, a person would become blind.

These magic beasts were not small and Lex did not plan on killing them individually. Under the attack of these magic beasts with no swordsmen at their side, a mage’s chances of survival were slim.

Lex took Saleen with her as she flew up unsteadily. She had not had much time to practice her flying skills. Otherwise, with the grade of her equipment, flying around with Saleen would not have been a problem.

The herd of magic beasts growled angrily. The Light Explosion spell had damaged the eyes of most of the beasts and the ones surrounding Lex and Saleen began to run around frantically. A few of them banged into each other, giving out earth-shattering roars.

Lex fell onto the ground and released a Windspeed spell onto Saleen. They were not hurrying now, but rather, were escaping for their lives. A Grade 3 Windspeed spell was too slow and as Lex shouted for them to run, the two of them began to escape in the direction with no magic beasts.

The ground behind them shook as the magic beasts that had not been injured started chasing them. The two of them did not dare look back as they ran with all their might. A large river appeared before them, and while Lex was still hesitating, Saleen had already jumped into it.

Lex followed him and released an Underwater Breathing spell. This river was at least several hundred meters wide and luckily, the current was not strong. After landing in the water, Saleen was nearly like a fish swimming in the river. With a twist of his body, he came to Lex’s side. He held onto her magic robe and made a gesture.

Lex dissipated the Windspeed spell and Saleen released another water shield, encasing the two of them in a bubble.

“Do not go up for now.” Saleen controlled the water shield. At that moment, the sound of an enormous object falling into the water came from above. The magic beasts that had chased them to the river bank were not about to give up and had released a Falling Rock spell.
