Chapter 130: Nailisi’s Abilities (Part 1)

Saleen was violently reminded that the nuclei of the magic beasts in god’s hell would be useful to Nailisi. Back on the Myers Mainland, Nailisi had a great influence over Saleen’s gemstones and magic nuclei. She would eat the smaller pieces sometimes and did not touch the magic nuclei again after eating them once. The magic nuclei here would be helpful to her growth.

“Sika, go dig out all of the magic nuclei.”

Saleen said this as he went ahead first. The skulls of the magic beasts were still tough even when they were dead, and he decided to use an Ice Blade spell to cut through them. Holzer and Baimeng’s mouth twitched as they watched Lex walk over without stopping Saleen.

The main reason the magic beasts had been defeated were because of the large number of magic scrolls provided by Lex. Otherwise, they would have definitely had casualties. Within half an hour, Lex and Saleen had used up two hundred thousand gold coins worth of magic scrolls. These magic nuclei were the spoils of war and by right should have belonged to Viscountess Lex.

Even if a single Grade 4 magic nucleus was worth over five hundred gold coins, it would not be enough to make up for the loss of all of the magic scrolls.

Sika looked at Nailisi lying in the dirt. She picked her up and brought her into the barrack before using her boomerang to start cutting open the heads of the magic beasts.

Lex did not ask Saleen for his reasons. She had Holzer and Baimeng gather up all of the corpses of the magic beasts and began using a Wind Blade spell to help Saleen collect the magic nuclei.

He gathered over two hundred magic nuclei and placed them all inside of his demon ring. Saying a word of thanks to Lex, he went over to Nailisi’s side as quickly as he could.

“Master, let me be alone…” Her voice was very weak.

“Yes. Sika, stand guard outside,” Saleen said softly to Sika. He brought out all of the more than two hundred magic nuclei from inside of his demon ring, placing them beside Nailisi.

“You too, Master.” Nailisi started twisting her body, taking off her shirt. Her skin had started growing scales, and due to her extreme weakness, she could no longer maintain the transformation magic.

“It’s alright, Nailisi.” Saleen gave it some thought before taking out a fist-sized chalcedony, placing it by the bed.

“Master, do you want me to be male or female?” Nailisi gave a weird smile. The color on half of her face was growing darker and turning green. Her hair was beginning to fade, turning from black to grey.

Saleen watched her transformation as her beautiful looks turned demonic. Her jade green eyes had turned entirely golden, and her skin had become green with natural dark red magic patterns on it. At the tips of her fingers, her once painted nails had turned into razor sharp claws.

Nailisi laid flat on the bed. A row of spines had grown from her back, and they were black and had a shiny glow to them. Towards the end of her back, a long tail had grown, and like the row of spines, it too was black and at the end of it was a sharp tip.

Saleen thought about the magic liquid that he had not drank. He took out the bottle and gave it to Nailisi. Her teeth were sharp and even scarier than those of piranhas. She painfully cocked her head as Saleen brought out a magic nucleus and pushed it into her mouth.

With a gulp, she swallowed the egg-sized nucleus. Some energy returned to her golden eyes and she stretched out her hands and pulled all of the magic nuclei that Saleen had placed on the bed towards her. She opened her mouth and began to swallow the magic nuclei.

As they disappeared one by one into her mouth, Saleen heard a clear sound emanating from Nailisi’s body. Before his eyes, her body began to twist, growing taller by nearly a foot.

Hmm…

Saleen gave a low hum. He could feel the pain that Nailisi was going through. Even though it was much less than what he had felt before and his body was fairly accustomed to pain, he found it hard to stomach. It felt like his bones were being crushed and reformed.

As it turned out, a demon’s coming of age was quite a difficult process. As Nailisi increased her speed of consumption of the magic nuclei, the bones beneath her skin grew even quicker, making her body proportionate and suitable for combat again.

With the changes in her body, the scales on her body started falling off. Saleen could feel a sharp pain as he pushed the fist-sized chalcedony over to her.

She had a dazed look in her eyes as she gripped the chalcedony, not putting in directly into her mouth. Instead, she carved out a hole using her sharp claws. Jade green fluid flowed out from the core of its nucleus as a breath of fresh air came from within and dissipated, carrying with it a cool breeze. Saleen’s pupils contracted. This was a real piece of chalcedony. The liquid inside of it had not hardened, and its value was immeasurable.

“Drink it, quick!” Saleen said as he bit down on his lip. This was something that humans could not ingest as their bodies could not take it. However, some magic beasts or demons could absorb it completely. If Nailisi absorbed this while she was transforming, it would lessen her pain and make the process less dangerous.

Nailisi’s body scrunched up in pain as she continued to grow.

“Drink!” Saleen said loudly.

Nailisi brought the hole of the chalcedony to her mouth and sucked hard, tears flowing down from her eyes. She had no idea if they had been caused by the pain. She had no concept of growing up and had no idea that a demon with pure blood would go through so much pain in order to grow up. If it had not been for the fact that Saleen had constantly trained with his badge and caused her to share the burden of the pain, she would not have been able to hold on for so long and would have fainted long ago. She would not have been able to take in so many magic nuclei or even drink the pure chalcedony.

If that had been the case, even if she made it to adulthood, she would have just been a normal demon. Many of the inherited powers from her bloodline would have remained dormant.

Saleen felt the pain that was deep within his soul become bearable, almost as if he were training with the badge again. The sounds of crunching bone within Nailisi’s body could still be heard, however, her body had stopped growing and was now shrinking a little. Saleen carefully touched and gathered the scales that had fallen from Nailisi’s body.

Her skin had started becoming darker, and her hair was turning black. Her green eyes now had a few streaks of gold in them and her claws had retracted. Her dark green skin was turning white, and places where scales were supposed to have been had green patterns instead. The spines on her back had retracted too, even though the crunching sounds from her body continued.

Saleen looked at Nailisi’s tail. It was a powerful weapon for a demon, and now, it had grown even slimmer, the color changing from black to a dark silver. The tip at the end glowed with a shine only found in metals, and it not only looked sharper, but had small saw teeth on it as well.

The pain within Saleen’s soul disappeared as Nailisi jumped up suddenly, pouncing onto Saleen. Saleen was shocked as she extended her tongue and licked his nose, laughing as she did so.

“Master, I seem to have turned into a female. Take a look…”

“Look your ass!” Saleen pushed her away violently. What Nailisi had just done had seemed dangerous to Saleen. Her sharp teeth had been inches away from his head, and the two sides of her tongue had sawtooth-like bumps on them. If her tongue had twisted around his neck, it would have been mangled off.

Saleen silently picked up the outer shell of the chalcedony that Nailisi had left on the bed. The shell was also a good ingredient and its price was not any less than a piece of amethyst. However, having Nailisi drink the liquid in the center seemed to have been a waste now. He had only had one doubt on his mind back then. Could a person not have feelings for something they were contractually bound to?

The lightning in this interdimensional space had already defied Saleen’s knowledge, and seeing Nailisi’s pain, an idea sprouted in Saleen’s mind: Why did he need to follow what the books said when it came to raising a demon?

Nailisi laughed as she went back to Saleen’s side. She easily cast a transformation spell, returning to the appearance of the Myers Goddess.

“Put on your clothes.” Saleen looked at Nailisi’s naked body without feeling any desire. He had seen Nailisi’s appearance clearly earlier on, and no matter who they were, a person would not have any fantasies about that creature.

Nailisi’s body was tall and fit. Her breasts were slightly bigger than Sika’s, yet tighter. She copied Saleen and shrugged her shoulders, saying, “Making clothes appear will waste a lot of energy, just like a mage constantly using a magic shield.”

“Your… your bracelet has some.” Saleen was completely defeated. Despite having grown up, Nailisi had not changed in character. He could only wish now that Nailisi had gained some special abilities to help them survive in god’s hell.

Nailisi looked at her breasts and shrugged her shoulders again, her nipples moving up and down along with her. Saleen instinctively looked away. Seeing that Saleen was not looking at her, Nailisi took out some clothes and put them on in disappointment.

“Master, do you want to see my new abilities?” Seeing how Saleen was frowning, she decided to make him happy.

There was no point in fighting with a creature that one was contractually bound to. Saleen turned around and nodded. He shouted towards the outside, “Come in, Sika.”

The barrack had been separated into six rooms. Lex and her two swordmasters were on the other side. Holzer had been sent to observe the forest with the alchemy crossbow while Baimeng was preparing food for Lex.

The over two hundred magic beasts had their hides skinned off. As Baimeng used a dagger to chop up the meat, he complained, “Viscountess…”

“Baimeng!”

“Viscountess, why did you let Saleen take away all the magic nuclei? More than two hundred of them are worth over one hundred thousand gold coins.”

“Baimeng, am I in need of gold coins?”

“But the magic scrolls Mage Saleen used were all from you!”

“Baimeng, if I killed Saleen, he would have at least few million gold coins on him. Do you think I should kill him?”

“Of course not, Viscountess. With your rank, why would you do something like that?”

“Then stop talking about the gold coins. Saleen is a mage too. If he is helping me now and I can’t even give him some magic nuclei, why would I spend so much money nurturing that many mages? Baimeng, if you really feel sorry about the money, I have another idea.” Viscountess Lex laughed as she spoke.

“What idea?”

“Grade 4 magic beast hide is a good ingredient when it comes to making magic scrolls. Help me skin them all.”
